In my county they also give you free sign in to various online resources that normally charge a subscription for useful information. It's literally free knowledge that people without don't have.

“Public libraries are such important, lovely places!” Yes but do you GO there. Do you STUDY there. Do you meet friends and get coffee there. Do you borrow the FREE, ZERO SUBSCRIPTION, ZERO TRACKING books, audiobooks, ebooks, and films. Have you checked out their events and schemes. Do you sign up for the low cost courses in ASL or knitting or programming or writing your CV that they probably run. Do you know they probably have myriad of schemes to help low income families. Do you hire their low cost rooms if you need them. Have you joined their social groups. Do you use the FREE COMPUTERS. Do you even know what your library is trying to offer you. Listen, the library shouldn’t just exist for you as a nice idea. That’s why more libraries shut every year

Obligatory once every few months spicy political post:

Ahead of tomorrow's local elections, please remember that these are local elections. A party's national policy shouldn't be your top priority. I've noticed that lots of refuk marketing is still focusing on immigration which... regardless of your views on, doesn't actually matter right now. Your mayor or county councillor can't decide visa policy or deport people. If that's all your local reform candidate is campaigning on - maybe don't vote for them. Maybe you're a die hard leftie but you really like what your local Tory is saying - (you won't here me say this often) you should probably vote Tory. You're not gonna help Kemi Badenoch form a government, you're just gonna get a mayor or councillor who is maybe slightly competent. Conversely you might be a Nigel farage superfan, but if you're reform candidate only talks about migration, but the green talks about doing a local development project you like (or stopping one you don't like) maybe vote green. This isn't a national election. Your vote won't form the country's government. But it might give you a good advocate in your local area - even if they're from a party you wouldn't normally back.
