Soo I chose the name Briar (??) but that's totally subject to change tbh

I have a little bit of basic info but it's a bit of a yap shesh tbh so my bad

- not very fond of Jax because he threatens to knock them over a lot which would obvi probably shatter her or whatever. He says it as a joke but they can't take personal jokes lmao. Doesn't mean Jax has, but he's probably been the cause of a couple chips and scratches or something. Other than that I like to think they're on decent terms with everyone else

Closest toooo ermmm let's say gangle and ragatha— likes everyone to an extent but does pick faves. Being Pierrot based I guess they're naturally very passive and sensitive and probably bonds w Gangle best over that of courseee but as of right now they don't have much for a personality 😖

And they can maybe empathize with Ragatha's potential (probably not confirmed or canon) feelings of not truly having anyone, but kind of being more selfless and willing to stay in the position and not trying to squeeze in where you don't fit out of fear you may make it worse WHICHHH is intended to be a parallel to Pierrot loving Colombina, who loves Arlecchino, and being okay with watching from afar and allows her to be happy with him instead of like trying to win her over (can you tell I like Commedia Dell'arte)

(ie Jax + pomni beginning to kind of bond, pomni no longer goes to ragatha for things like comfort or guidance and the friendship she thought they had begins to feel very one sided, but she doesn't really do anything about it or has not yet besides be upset with Jax which is fair I could go on and on about this but this isn't about her my bad)

Just a big fat theater kid. The attraction to the moon thing in the circus world (???) is once again a ref to Pierrot and how he's always depicted serenading the literal MOON stupid stupid stupid ok thanks for reading ur attention span is FIRE 🔥🔥

whenever I slither around an edifice of my crooked wonder, I could never perceive satisfaction as how an apple seed grows to hold solid bark and solaced leaflets—even when the pieces of night gets solved by the last rise of the sky-candle.

yesterday, when avrille was locked in slumber, I found myself reminiscing on the heart of your letters. your words were always simple—it was gneiss. I miss hearing them every mourning day. from the sorrows of your silent breaths or from the shrieks of your shallow happiness. as I was about to hide your letters, I got tasked to write more meaningless narratives. you're the only reason why I still sought real passion in writing.

midnight is my favourite setting—to be followed by sunrise. that is because you love the night more than the day. I can still remember how shocked that made me feel when you told me. as midnight strikes, I would roam around this stupid town with your long scarf around me. I despise how I've forgotten what ramshackle feels like. as I stated, nothing satisfies me right here. this wasn't the promise land I desired.

nevertheless, I just want to say, write rather: I miss you. I wish you could find a way to crawl up to the dead sky and fly to the softness of my embrace. although it's been a year since your response, I wouldn't cease to write—for I will always love you. no epithet could embody the loneliness that gnaws me when I sleep without you and vinnie by my side. I hope this reaches you. I just need to reach you. I can’t bear with this anymore. no blood-worms could hurt me more than the absence of you.

Danté and the role he plays in Ramshackle

This is just an excuse to just write about what I think and hc for Danté.

( WHY DID I HAVE TO GET ATTACHED TO A CHARACTER WITH NEXT TO NOTHING ABOUT THEM?!?😭) im also alive if anyone cares, i had a vacation to go see some sights and listen to some music.

- Dante realizes wayyyyyy too late that he accidentally adopted a young scrap/lootbag or played therapist for someone.

- His tavern/bar is lowkey cozy despite it smelling like cigarettes, cheap booze, and vomit. It is dimly lit with warm lighting, soft yet worn furniture, and constant music. His bar is one of the few places with no class discrimination, which means scraps are allowed as long as they can pay. At least the policy stays until someone rich enough comes along and wants to have a lootbag only event at his bar.

-At night most of the scraps flock to the tavern to unwind and relax, it’s a token safe haven where they can exist in a decent looking place without too much fear of the cops.

- adding on, of course at night his tavern comes alive. The rich, are boring, all pinched in the face and forced smiles that are too wide. They sip dry martinis and talk about affairs that are so boring even the most nosy person will die of boredom. But the scraps, they are a different story. While Dante had a pool table, maybe a dart board, at best a jukebox or a record player set up for entertainment, the scraps disregard it and do their own thing. On a regular Saturday night you can find several high stakes card games going on at different tables, the classical music the lootbags listen to is traded out for more folk music, maybe almost sea shanties, maybe country or punk, more reckless music in general. Everyone is red in the face from the amount of alcohol they drank, everything is loud , and the atmosphere is light. And just for a moment, worries about life and fighting to survive disappear.

- i feel like Dante is one of the few that make up the working class??? If such thing exists in Ramshackle, where you aren’t exactly a lootbag but you don’t struggle as much as a scrap. Like a Maroon situation, maybe even Milo?? But while Dante tries to appeal to the rich because that’s where the money is at, he sympathizes with the scraps more, especially the younger ones.

- I keep trying to make a backstory for this man in my head and every time he screams girl dad to me. Maybe he was a family man before Ramshackle, a wife and a little girl but the wife grew sick, eventually his daughter got sick too, and they both died. He buried his past next to his wife and daughter and started a new life in Ramshackle or maybe if he already lived in Ramshackle, he never brought up his family again. But you can catch Dante looking off at parks with many happy families, or look at children boutiques with frilly dresses for little girls with a devastated look in his eyes.

- the younger scraps fill that void in his heart after his child died. Like Skipp, Vinnie, Stone,Nemo,even though they are older teens he treats them like his own. And Rigel, Cen, Nim, Nadia, and are more on the younger side, he tries to keep an eye out for them. His heart wouldn’t be able to handle it if he sees them get hurt or locked up.

- but it wasn’t always like that before. When the death of his family was still fresh, he forced himself not to get attached to another person, especially any children because that death hurt the most. But he found himself being fatherly by accident. Either by sliding the younger scraps a glass of water wordlessly, keeping his tavern warm so they don’t get cold, giving out some advice when the young scraps are having trouble. Just stuff like that-

- He likes each scrap equally, but a wee bit of him likes Skipp a little bit more. He sees his child in that boy a lot. Maybe he looks like his child, maybe he acts like his child a lot, but he has the essence of his child. And while Dante would never coddle Skipp or hover over him because for one, he isn’t his own, and for two, he knows Skipp is old enough to take care of him, Dante does try guiding him into a good direction.

- like Dante will host an open mic night or live performances for a night at his bar. It pretty popular and it is always very lively. And that’s part of the reason Dante hosts events like that, but also, the performers can get tips for the show they put on. So Skipp or maybe even Stone ( if you get enough drinks in him-) can perform and get a little bit of cash too. Plus it’s nice seeing them have fun but Dante would rather take a bullet to the chest than admit that-

- He doesn’t know how to feel about Vinnie most days, sometimes he feels sorry for her because of her being an orphan turned scrap, but he knows she doesn’t need pity or people to feel sorry for her. Other times he sees her as a reckless brat, especially when her schemes are placed way too close to his bar. Then again there is respect for her because of her spunky personality and being able to hold her own. He stays out of her business, but sometimes he leaves the tavern door cracked just a bit just in case Vinnie and her crew can duck in there if they are running from the cops….. again.

- Stone, he doesn’t know how to feel about him either. He’s just so, quiet and to himself. Stone will just wander into the bar on random nights, and order himself a monster, and he won’t say another word for the rest of the night. He just pays for his drink and leaves. Dante tried once to get the Emo to speak or talk, about why he is looking for relief by drinking his sorrows away. But the conversation was quickly shut down by Stone, probably with a very grumpy “why do you care?” Or a, “ yer not my dad.”. And Dante just went back to polishing glasses and tidying up the bar because Stone was right, why did he care, that wasn’t his kid. He leaves Stone alone, but still tries to give good advice when he can.

- he doesn’t have his tavern open for the scraps to sleep in, mostly because he is paranoid someone will break something. He already had to patch up bullet holes in his tavern and replace windows several times, he is sick of doing repairs on the bar. But that doesn’t stop a few scraps from trying anyway ( Cen and Rigel, Vinnie too sometimes if she is desperate for shelter if the little fort in the alley isn’t holding up)

- Cen and Rigel are the kids Dante never wanted but he puts up with there tomfoolery anyway. He swears up and down that those “damn twins” are gonna give him grey hairs. They constantly hang around the tavern and host card games for money at a table in the back at least once a week. They’ll break into the bar at night for a drink or just somewhere warm to sleep, knowing that they’ll wake up to a frazzled Dante in the morning. The poor man has to wrangle the two, having to stop fights that they cause, and sometimes he picks them up by the back of their shirts like someone picking up a cat by the scruff, and proceeds to kick them out. Despite the twins chaotic behavior Dante still somehow found it in himself to help them, in his own way. Mainly by making it a habit to buy newspapers off of the twins instead of anyone else, at least he’s putting money into their pockets since they actually need it.

- the only non scrap he accidentally adopted is Tre. At first, Tre was just another snobby brat that liked to stick his nose in other people’s business. He didn’t like the kid, especially after a few incidents where Tre bursted into his bar, convinced he had an arrest on his hands, turns out it was false information he was given and it completely ruined the vibe for the rest of the night. But that changed when Tre quietly walked into the tavern on a very slow night. He sat down at the countertop, and sheepishly ordered an orange soda. Tre looked so down in the dumps Dante couldn’t help but ask what was wrong, maybe he just wanted to relish in his misery for driving away customers with his antics. But Tre confessed that he had a large disagreement with his father and needed to clear his mind, and Tre admits he sees Maroon hang around the tavern a lot and decided to give it a try. Thus it sparked a actual decent conversation between Tre and Dante, it varied from talking about Maroon to the police work Tre is given, and maybe if Tre is comfortable enough , he complains about his dad just a bit.

- Maroon is like a sister to Dante, they mess around and banter like siblings at least. I know there are theories that Maroon was a gangster before being a bodyguard. And it would be nice if Dante was the reason she turned a new leaf, maybe a heart to heart talk over a drink.

- idk what else to add, Dante looks like he is 46.

- I lowkey want him to have an Australian accent for whatever reason.

- Dante is the trusted adult people go to when they need advice or a drink. He looks tough but becomes a bit of a softy after you get to know him. But he won’t hesitate whooping yer azz if you start causing problems in his bar ( Ditch, he has had to kick Ditch out multiple times for multiple reasons)

That’s it, I’ve had this post brewing for sometime now. I just had so much to do between finishing up school, graduation parties, a vacation. But now I’m back and summer break is here, so expect some unhinged Ramshackle posts, maybe I’ll start some pinepoint stuff too. Anyway, I had fun writing stuff for Dante since there is next to nothing about this guy, like maybe three posts max here on tumblr and 0.2 seconds of screen time in the pilot. I just hope to see more of him . Bye yall, i love you!!!
