A series of events:

1. I put in an Annual Leave request form almost 3 weeks ago and my boss has not approved it yet

2. I went into my office today and replaced every single writing utensil with crayons in preparation for April Fools Day on Monday

3. Whilst searching for pens to remove, I found my unsigned Annual Leave form in my boss’s drawer

4. I placed my unsigned Annual Leave form in a photo frame and put in on his desk

5. The frame I used was from a photo of his kids that I deemed less important than my Leave form

6. My boss sometimes goes into the office on Saturdays to work

I loved the teams’ almost opposite approaches to voting off campers in Total Drama Island.

The Screaming Gophers were way more pragmatic, I noticed. If you cost your team the game or couldn’t be of use to your team, you were out! Noah being useless at dodgeball, Izzy blabbing the idea for DJ to push everyone’s canoes to the other team, Cody being injured beyond use to his team, Beth being blamed for “cursing” their team with a losing streak. Literally the only elimination that didn’t follow this rule was Justin, which was orchestrated by Heather. Speaking of Heather, it’s why I think she always stayed over the other person she was in the bottom 2 with–she was actually determined to win for their team, was frequently a leader (if a very bossy one), and was more useful than the other guy.

Meanwhile, the Killer Bass treated the team like a social hierarchy. You had the Bass trio of Duncan (the ringleader), Geoff, and DJ. Duncan had his C.I.T. Princess at the helm (who was pretty bossy, but stayed due to Duncan’s crush on her). Geoff had his surfer babe Bridgette too (who was super popular and likable in her own right). If you weren’t those 5, you might as well go home.

The Bass definitely voted off players for costing them the game (Katie, Tyler, Harold), but I recall instances like Ezekiel and Eva making themselves social pariahs with their sexism and cabin-destroying rage, respectively. You also had Harold, and as good as he was at winning for their team, he was just gross and geeky, which made him unpopular. I recall FOUR times he was in the bottom 2 (during Eva, Sadie, Courtney, & his own elimination), and it was only for HIS elimination that he actually cost his team the game. I even remember Courtney rallying everyone against Sadie for hitting her with apples and taking it personally. And even Harold not performing the worst in the boot-camp episode couldn’t save him from almost being voted off had he not rigged the votes, just because Courtney was Duncan’s girlfriend and officially a part of the gang now.

Just interesting to see their two approaches.

in reference to that one ep in TDI, i like to think that the producers told geoff to pretend as if the splinter in his leg was a grave injury to spice up the episode. Here’s why this thought makes me giggle every time:

- the producers spoke to geoff alone, he was the only one who was supposed to know about his “injury”

- he decided to get dj and bridgette in on it too, just to make it THAT more dramatic (cue their confessionals lmaooo)

- he tried to get duncan in on it too but duncan just looked at him like he was an idiot and walked away (he’s not even on camera during this entire bit so i like to think he walked away from his team out of embarrassment lol)

- the rest of the team has no idea, so when geoff goes down they’re all concerned/confused

- courtney immediately called bullshit and becomes so confused, so when she tries to walk away and dj is all like “we can’t leave him behind!” she’s even more bamboozled by geoff’s invisible injury

It was cocky and overconfident to call the Titanic "unsinkable" but one thing that's overlooked is that she was genuinely really, unusually solid. She could float even with 4 compartments fully flooded, which even a lot of modern day ships can't do.

And it's not like they were wrong about her being solid! Olympic, her identical sister ship, survived being torpedoed and then running over the U-Boat that fired that torpedo. Those ships were solid.

It's very clear that absolutely no other ship in 1912 would have been able to survive that collision, and it's a testament to the quality of the ship that she didn't sink in a few minutes Empress of Ireland style. Part of what makes the Titanic such a tragic story is that it isn't a group of rich idiots locking themselves in a shoddy iron barrel to go 4km underwater. It was 2200 people, most of whom were poor immigrants, on a reliable ship on a commonly-made journey, and then something went horribly, unpredictably wrong.

. Courtney's last name "Adhikari" means smt along the lines of "officer/ruler/authority" which I thought was very fitting for her (My Courtney is south Asian, specifically Bengali)

. Gwen has a tattoo that references Isle of Dogs, specifically the "I'm not a bad dog, I don't know why I bite" line (altho that quote might not be exact) (she designed all her tattoos herself)

. Lindsays profession is inspired by her mud skiing in X-treme Torture

. Alejandro switching to gold jewelry signifies him distancing himself from the Burromuertos

So here it is Total Drama Replay, a fic exploring what Total Drama Island would be like if Alejandro was competing instead of Ezekiel.

Updates Sundays and is third person perspective but focalised on Alejandro. Main pairing is Aleheather with Duncney being a very prevalent side pairing.
