Ruby stood in the doorway, looking half human and perfectly wild. Her eyes were still alight with wolf’s gold, her teeth unnaturally sharp. Leaves twined into her hair and mud was streaked dark over her pale cream body. Her eyes were glassy and unfocused, her back bowed as if walking on two legs still felt unnatural; as though she couldn’t bear, even then, to have her heart so far from the earth. Read on AO3

Regina made a sharp, low sound in the back of her throat very near a growl, her eyes never leaving Pan. There was still a halo of purple in her irises, violent magic swimming at the edge of her gaze; and even through the racing of her own heart Emma found time to wonder how anyone could look at Regina and see anything other than an unstoppable force of nature, how anyone could wish her to be less. It wasn't a competition, per se. There was no room for jealousy in Regina's bed; it was already full with the wolf and the sheriff sprawled across her sheets, half-dressed in the morning light. Read on AO3

The first watch was Emma’s, but Regina had made no move to rest. She just sat with her coat drawn tight around her, shoulders hunkered down against the cold and eyes darting periodically along the treeline. Shadows shown in the faint, tired lines of her face. “You know, I’ve got this,” Emma said in a whisper that still felt impossibly loud. Pan’s forest was deadly quiet, no insects, no birds, no sign at all of the living. It was like camping in a tomb. “If anything happens I’ll wake you. I’ll get you when it’s your turn.” Regina gave a short, derisive laugh, her expression a grimace. “Like I can sleep with my son out there.” Read on AO3

Night hung heavy over Neverland, shrouding the ship and the shore in equal darkness. They worked under a faint moon, docking in a secluded cove beneath Regina’s strongest cloaking spell. But even still, the sinking feeling in Emma’s stomach every time a nearby branch rustled or a shadow moved along the shore told her that these precautions might not be enough to hide their arrival from Pan’s many eyes. This was his island, after all, and Emma could feel the strength of his hold over it the instant her feet touched the ground. There was a magic here, unsettlingly boyish while still feeling dark, deep, and ancient. The combination felt wrong, and the fine hairs at the back of Emma’s neck prickled.

Been waiting and waiting and waaaiting (patiently! :) but then realised you might need an incentive. So. Would you be persuaded into writing a continuation of that Swan Queen Alpha/Beta/Omega ficlet? I could try bribery - cookies, foot-rubs, washing your dishes, and/or the car? *wiggles eyebrows* Come on, you KNOW what kind of potential for a complex/explosive story lies there, don't ya? :D
