This is one of those questions that I hope can be answered in time with other interactions and posts (does that make sense?). However, to not leave your ask with a half assed answer, I'll say this; their relationship is like a flaming sharknado going 300mph towards an orphange right behind a power plant. Just kidding! It's probably more unpredictable than that.

Since the beginning, it's been apparent that Michael's (PD1, for newcomers) mental health has only spiraled, making him a bit more mercurial than usual. Fatherhood introduced him to a new set of paranoid delusions, and intrusive thoughts that he would have never thought he'd experience. To give him some credit, he really does try his best to give Aster a sense of normality, even if it's ultimately all in vain at the end of the day. Meanwhile, Aster's inexplicable and unpredictable behavior is extremely detrimental to their relationship and destructive to his father's mental health.

When Aster was born, Michael was convinced for a while that Aster was replaced by something else as a punishment for the catastrophic atrocities and abhorrent tragedies he had caused. Instead of a personlized punishment for him after death, the earth had sent him a personal demon from the deepest crevices of hell in the form of his own child to torment him. (Side note, this was one of the other delusions he'd have. He was also convinced Aster was replaced by some other malicious folkloric creature or was born out of an animal). I'd like to say that delusions eventually passed on completely, but since Aster is the epitome of pandemonium, I don't think it's something that ever ever left his psyche. I'd go as far as to say that it's something that will subject him to having another psychotic break one day.

Sounds a great way to start fatherhood and like a stable & healthy father and son relationship to me.

Are child nottem & child PD2 friends?

Gonna answer this ask as a lore post since it wasn't asked directly to Aster X). Though I'm glad somebody asked! For future reference.

Aster and Ernest are neighbors, literally living across the street from each other. Ernest is the only kid in the neighborhood that Aster DOESN'T bully, though he definitely pesters & annoys Ernest in his own ways. Such as eating litter box sand & slobbering all over Ernest afterward.

Their father's also know each other too, but don't like each other...supposedly.

Despite this, Aster and Ernest are the same age, so they've been friends since forever. They first "met" each other as wee toddlers at the Arsenal's daycare center. Ernest was like a baby watermelon who just wanted to play with their ABC blocks while Aster kept trying to bite Ernest with his nonexistent teeth. All of this happened while their dad's were fist fighting at the daycare's entrance. 👌🏻

But technically, their first memory of each other is from pre-k. Ernest offered Aster a crayon, Aster ate it in one bite, and they've been friends ever since then. 🖍

Ernest Jonas Fisher

Who later will go on to be called " The Antagonist " or " The Hero " most famously known as Not Important.

As we mentioned earlier, we made our own versions of Postal Dude (1 & 2) and Not Important! Nottem is a character that I (Gio) saw so much potential in. I was so sad when I looked into the game and his wiki and found nothing- so I decided to build on his character.

His name is Ernest, or "Urn."

Yes, as in what you put people's ashes in-

I know that in the drawing his hair looks brown but ITS NOT. HIS HAIR COLOR IS BLACK!

He's around 10 in this drawing, and he just came back from school to his dad yelling at him (( he avoids going home at all costs)).

Some facts about him:

He's from the Quad cities, Illinois.

His dad is the commanding general at the RI Arsenal.

Ernest has 4 older brothers ((yes he's the youngest)).

His mother was a nurse who was studying to be a mortician. She ran away and left Ernest & his brothers with their father when he was a month old.

He's a metal head and absolutely loves doom metal & brutal death metal music.

He's a very quiet kid he keeps to himself, and tries not to cause problems for anyone.

Ernest doesn't remember his mom (obviously), he's only seen her in pictures his dad has laying around the house.

Aster got him addicted to uncrustables.

Most of the clothes he wears are oversized and big on him due to them being his older brothers' hand-me-downs ((yes even his shoes don't fit him)).

Postal Kid/Aster are from their controversial & offensive franchise (OBVIOUSLY) sticking to character, Aster will be unapologetically offensive and crude like his adult counterpart, maybe just a tad bit more childish & immature (like an annoying ass kid that just learned how to say "fuck" & shouts slurs because thats peak humor to them). Ask anything*, even if it's raunchy, I'm not going to water him down. *Just maybe don't ask certain things that'll put you on a registry...

PLEASE stick to only asking about him as a child. Yes, I do have a teenage version of him, and obviously an adult version too (just our ver of postal dude 2) but I don't want to focus on them, the adult one feels kind of convoluted to even introduce because we all already know PDude² as an adult LOLZ. So, like I said, please stick to only asking questions for child aster ^^.

I won't disallow it completely....but I'm not sure if I'll have Aster interact with others oc's. Nothing personal! It'd just feel too out of place. Hope you all understand!

We both made our own version(s) / lore of the postal dudes & postal series!

( Along w/ the game “HATRED” which will come up in a future post)

Postal dude 1 with his son (little kid-postal dude 2! Who we call "the postal kid!").

We actually gave them names, too! (Sorry, they're not P names, but I could care less. Feel free to call them Postal dude and Postal kid if it bothers you that much).

PD1's name is Michael Toddhunter, and his son's (PD2) name is Aster Toddhunter.

Preface: This takes place AFTER the first postal game. This is an AU of sorts, so just erase the ending of the game + a bunch of other things, and have Michael fuck off somewhere, nobody ever knowing his identity so he gets away with everything. That was a "TLDR" explanation of it. We could maybe explain this better on a different post in the future.

Anyways! Here's some lore we have about them:

Michael is the Command Sergeant Major for the U.S army's RI Arsenal. Yes, he did serve in the army before going postal in the first game. Don't ask how he got up to that rank because god knows I don't know either.

He and Aster live in the Quad cities, Illinois, aka some fuck ass midwestern region of cities that only gets some attention from the John deere company that hogs the area. Fuck john deere.

Michael is a single dad. He somehow managed to win sole custody over Aster. He doesn't talk about his ex-girl friend.

They live in a house that's next to a trailer park, so they're not exactly dirt fuckin' poor but they ain't buying branded food either. They're still trailer park trash without living directly in the trailer park.

Michael has tried to give Aster some sense of normality (sorta) but Aster clearly is not cut out to be a normal child. He's very rowdy, violent, and bullies the neighborhood kids (if you get the reference, you're cool).

Michael calls Aster "My little wild thing" (reference to Aster's favorite book; "where the wild things are").

When Aster was 5, for Christmas, Michael gifted him a black cat he bought for $10 at the pet store (he didn't question it). Michael cruelly didn't think the cat would last long, but that cat might as well outlive him. Aster named the cat "Kostroma" and has shoved his dad's guns up it's ass and used it as a silencer to shoot at beer bottles in their backyard. Kostroma hasn't died (nor appears to be scarred or traumatized), no matter what Aster has put him through. He's like some weird immortal cat (who surprisedly loves Aster as much as Aster loves him). Michael and Aster don't question it.

Aster loves uncrustables. His addiction literally is the grape jelly uncrustables. He has to have one once a day or else he'll start wreaking havoc in the neighborhood.

Michael brings Aster to work sometimes (usually when Aster gets kicked out of school or is being too insufferable for the neighborhood). He can't help it, and it's not like anybody can give him shit for it.

That's all we'll share for now!! Hopefully we'll post more in the future!! Me and Jester have been working on this since late May of last year, and we plan to continue to work on it >;). I'll leave y'all with this doodle I did of Kostroma cat.
