[Receiving the News]

Tomioka was walking down a path, neatly build for civilians and carriages. He was heading towards his estate, wanting to finally gain his well earned rest from completing mission after mission.

Arriving at his front door, did the all to familiar crow fly through the air, cawing words no one wanted to hear.

"[Name] [Surname] killed in battle! Caw! Hashira murdered by Muzan himself! Caw!"

He stared after the crow, eyes wide in shock as the information sank into his head. Unbeknownst to him, tears flowed from his eyes, dropping onto the dry soil underneath his feet.

He tried wiping them away, but they would always come back in stronger flows. He collapsed onto his knees, gripping his Haori tightly, hoping this were a devastating nightmare. But to no luck, it was real.

He dropped his head to the ground, still clenching his clothes as he cried. A streaming river of tears flowed down his face, his eyes becoming red and puffy. He couldn't handle this anymore. Too many people died in his life, and they were all important to him. He just couldn't handle it anymore.

[Special Memory]

If he had to choose, the best memory would be...

"Are you alright?"

The injured younger Giyu looked up at his savior, being met with stunning [e/c] eyes. The man before him was crouching down, grabbing a roll of soft fabric from somewhere in his uniform, gently taking the younger’s bleeding arm and tightly wrapping the bandages around the wound, temporarily halting the bleeding. The demon, who Giyu was assigned to kill. was now disintegrating into ashes, cursing at the them both.

To be honest, this near death experience was terrifying for the Water Breath user. He thought back at the fight, the demon having cut his arm and knocked him back against a tree. That flesh eating monster was cackling in excitement as it pounced, only to be kicked away midair. Which led to his head to be cut off seconds after.

His lips were quivering and his body shaking, which only made the elder even more worried than he already was. But the next thing was surprising, for the both of them. Giyu hugged the Hashira, burying his face in the elder’s warm Haori. His hands tightly gripped the fabric. The Hashira’s expression softened, wrapping his arms around the smaller body.

“My name’s [Name], what about you?”

“Giyu…”

He whispered it so softly that it was barely audible, but [Name] luckily heard it.

“Alright, Giyu. Would you like to go to my place? I’ll properly patch you up there, alright?”

Giyu gave a small and weak nod, the [breathing style] breath user picking him up and leaving this dark, gloomy forest.

“The best memory I have of him, is when I first encountered him, when he saved my life. From that day on, I admired and looked up to him. But just like everyone else important to me, he left…”

[A Ghost? A Spirit? A Hallucination?]

Giyu was sprinting up the snow covered mountain, a rumored demon roaming around. As he jumped from tree to tree, did he find a demon girl attacking a boy, who was crying and holding an axe to the demon’s mouth.

He jumped down, holding his sword above his head and swinging it downwards, a huge gust of snow being blown everywhere. After everything cleared, he realized that he missed, the boy and girl tumbling through the snow and coming to an abrupt stop as they hit the stump of a tree.

Giyu didn’t hesitate to grab the girl, holding the sword to her chest where her heart is located. The boy was pleading and crying, saying that she didn’t kill his family. That there was someone else’s scent at his bloodied house.

But the Pillar didn’t buy it. He stabbed his sword through the aimed spot, blood soaking the girl’s old and already dirtied Yukata. The demon struggled against the slayer’s grip, writhing and kicking around like a toddler throwing a tantrum, hungry growls leaving her throat.

The boy got onto his knees, his head touching the ice cold snow as he pleaded once more, tears streaming down his face like a river. Giyu snapped at the boy’s vulnerable state. It definitely knocked some sense into the younger’s mind as he quickly scrambled to his feet, grabbing a few pebbles lying in the snow and throwing it towards the Hashira.

As expected from a highly ranked being, Giyu dodged it effortlessly by just moving his head to the side, or using the hilt of his sword. Now the burgundy haired boy was running straight at him, shouting his lungs out.

The Water Breath user merely uses the hilt of his Nichirin blade to hit a pressure point on his nape, knocking the boy out. But after the younger fell unconscious, did Giyu noticed the absence of his axe.

“Look up”

Giyu looked upwards, the axe swinging in his direction as it just merely missed his head after the raven haired male moved his head to the side. He had wide eyes. Not just at the fact that this boy could think of a plan this quickly, but at the strange, transparent voice he heard.

The voice sounded so…faint, but it was whispered right next to his ear. And he felt like something guided his face to look up, as if something wrapped around his head and moved his head. But the feeling was warm. As if he felt familiar with it. He shook his head, thinking that the cold is making him imagine things.

The demon girl woke up and kicked him away. As he landed against a tree, that voice came back.

“Watch over them. Save them. Train them.”

The girl pounced towards her brother, before surprisingly and shockingly standing in front of the unconscious male. In a protective manner. Now he was really questioning life. Who told him those words? The voice was so…familiar?
