Was it really that easy?

Turning your back on us and leaving us behind like we were nothing. Don’t you cherish any of the memories you had with us? Are you really that insensitive? Do you know how devastated Edd and Matt are? Do you know how devastated I am?

Of course not. Because you only think about yourself. You have no regard for other people’s feelings. I hate you. I hope you crash on the way there.

Dear Tord,

I hate your name.

I hate the way it rolls off my tongue whenever I’m sad. Edd and Matt both say that it’s because I just miss you, but I don’t. Not even a little bit.

I hate how it repeats itself in the back of my mind every fucking night. When it’s two am and I’m still wide awake, you’re name is all I can say. Sometimes, on really bad days, I even see your face. And I fucking hate it.

Dear Tord,

I found a picture of you in a pile of Matt’s junk today. He said I could keep it, and so I did. I put it on a dart board so I can have something to do if I ever get bored.

I keep aiming for your face, but I miss every damn time… Isn’t that just pathetic? Even when I’m standing five inches away from it I just can’t seem to hit the bull’s-eye.

So it just stays there, untouched. And the worst part is you’re smiling in that picture, and for some fucking reason, I just can’t bring myself to take it down.

Dear Tord,

It’s been a year since you left.

Do we ever cross your mind? Do you miss us? Do you miss me? Ha. Of course you don’t. I mean, who am I to be missed, right?

Truth is, I miss you. I miss grabbing you by the hair and punching your face until my knuckles are raw and bruised. I miss being the reason why you would walk around sporting a black eye and a busted lip. I miss being the reason why you’re so miserable.

I find pieces of you in every song I listen to, so now I can’t listen to anything anymore. Also, I can’t go outside, because I see you everywhere.

Like, when I would go to the store, I would see someone wearing a red hoodie and I would swear, for a moment, that it’s you. Then I’d see that the hoodie is more black than red, and that it’s a just a shirt.

I remember you in everything, and I fucking hate it.

You ruin everything.

Dear Tord,

It’s been a while since I last wrote to you.

Is it nice over there? Are you doing okay? I hope you’re doing better than me. I haven’t eaten in days and the doctor said that I should take my medicine but I really don’t want to. The hospital won’t let me out until I get better. Edd and Matt have been trying to cheer me up but I think it’s a waste of time, but I appreciate their help though.

I saw you on the news the other day, they were reporting about your death and everything just came flooding back to me and it hurts to remember.

I miss you so, so much, Tord. I’m sorry I never got the chance to tell you I love you, and this letter is hard to finish because there’s blood everywhere and I’m starting to feel weak.
