Fewer recolors than I usually make, but I only made these because I wanted more of the subtle printed recolors, of which there were only 2 in the original TS4 dress (recs "9" and "10" of platasp's conversion). The prints are barely visible in the preview pic above, but below you can see them zoomed in on.

I had to remake all 3 recolors from scratch because I didn't have the original png files, but the only thing I wanted to change was to have the color of the belts match the shoes (and I have not idea why I didn't make it that way originally). 12 recolors of Bunhead's Claire Dress (@bunsblr) on an mesh edited by @rudhira. For adult sims, set as everyday and formal wear. Notes, download link and full swatch are under the cut.

Rudhira changed the shoes and restored the pankou knots from this Apartment Life outfit, from which Bunhead got the 3D model of the jacket. I made my recolors in 2 styles: one closer to Bunhead's originals and one using the full mandarin jacket from AL.

And because there was no reason to keep 2 nearly identical meshes in my game, I reused the 3 recolors made by Bunhead (the first 3 shown in the pic below), only recoloring the new shoes to match the originals.

NOTES AND CREDITS:

In both versions, the dresses are set as everyday wear only. For the custom version, TF recolors are repo'd to the AF files.

Originally shared on GoS, in 2022, but now updated. I redid the black and red recolors to improve shading. The black dress is also a bit darker now and has a more noticeable knit texture. Finally, I optimized the files by removing unneeded blank textures from the dresses that don't have tights.

My recolors were made using these ones by @eulaliasims as a base. She added a knit texture to the dress, and I thought it looked much nicer that way. While my black recolor is similar to hers, mine is darker, has a slightly different texture and is fully grey, (hers has a slight blue tint).

The work of replacing the NYC2 mesh was done by @ello-sims. Before being inspired by Eulalia's recolors, I used to have her DR, which is why 3 of the dresses have similar colors.

Recolors of Pixicat's docs are by @serabiet (black and red) and @deedee-sims (floral), with minor edits.

For my recolors, I added a fabric texture to the pants, made new colors for the shoes (which originally only came in black), and removed the unneeded, blank textures from the package files. Default replacement of tfBodyCamper, from Bon Voyage. The original mesh was edited and replaced by @nekosayuri, but I wanted the colors available for this outfit to be more distinct from each other.

This replacement works with the top-only vest add-ons by @whattheskell, but because the shoes are different, the full-body add-on won't look right. If anyone interested in my new recolors also wants to keep the AF conversion shared by Skell, I can make a texture-only replacement, keeping the original shoes.

I first shared this on GoS, in 2023, but I was no longer happy with my work and made changes to some of the recolors: I remade "Black" to fix pixelation; "Blue" and "Yellow" to have lighter colored pants and shoes, better matching the vest; and "Brown" to change the color of the tie. Finally, I made 2 new recolors, "Red" and "DarkBrown". I updated the file on SFS.

I originally shared this in 2022, on GoS, but for this re-release, I've redone the black, red, and pink colors. The original SFS upload has been updated. If you downloaded the first version of this default replacement and would like to have this one, just let the new file overwrite the old one, since they have the same name.

As in the first version, only the colors of the skirts were changed, with the exception of "patternhell" (the skirt worn by Meadow Thayer, a townie from Pleasantview), for which I used the same pink boots as "deninred" (the khaki skirt shown above).

9 people I want to know better

I was tagged by @goatskickin on Thursday and by @hypersaline a few hours ago. A couple of days late, but here it goes:

LAST SONG: I just finished listening to Scott Walker's Farmer in the City, and now I'm playing Tilt, both from the same album.

FAVORITE COLOR: It depends on what the color will be on, but even then I'm not sure I have one. I'm wearing a dark green sweater right now. I like it.

CURRENTLY WATCHING: I mostly watch movies, but currently I'm watching season 2 of The Last of Us (generally very good, great even, despite being inconsistent sometimes) and, unfortunately, season 6 of The Handmaid's Tale (garbage). I should've dropped THT a while ago, but I started the show in 2022, catching up a few weeks before s5 began airing, then rumored to be the last one. S1 was excellent, S2 was still good (stupid finale), S3 was mostly bad, but still watchable, and then it wasn't, ever again. I thought I was done forcing myself to watch bad shows simply because they were almost over, yet here I am, hopefully for the last time — only 2 more awfully written episodes to get through!

LAST MOVIE: Last night I watched Hour of the Wolf (1968). The late 60s and early 70s gave us 5 movies starring Liv Ullmann and Max von Sydow. I knew about the 3 directed by Bergman, but not the other 2 until until yesterday. The world is looking bleaker by the minute, so I'll hold on to this as something good to look forward to. And may all far-right scum meet very painful ends — let's just hope they don't take the rest of us with them on their way out.

CURRENTLY READING: I'm not currently reading any novel, but also last night I re-read "Ligeia" and "The Imp of the Perverse", both short stories by Edgar Allan Poe.

SWEET, SPICY OR SAVORY: Savory.

CURRENT OBSESSION: A love-hate relationship with a 2004 game I've been micro-managing since 2020, instead of simply playing it like I did when I was a kid. And film (that's a love-love one).

LAST GOOGLED: "Ligeia and Vertigo". I don't know how long it'd been since I read Ligeia, but although I remembered the facts of the story, it was only yesterday that I noticed the similarities with Hitchcock's movie.

CURRENTLY WORKING ON: Sims blog, so sims-related answer. I've always wanted to make individual posts on Tumblr for the cc I shared on GoS, but my earlier preview pictures are so ugly! Posing sims is not only boring and annoying, but at the beginning it was hard(er than it is today). So I'm making new preview pictures for them, and while at that, I've also been editing some of those earlier projects.

While I recolored the jackets myself, I paired them with tops made by different creators, including EA.

CREDITS:

Purple jacket: Uses a black recolor I made of the BG Halter Top;

Dark Brown jacket: The original top is this one by aquilegia, and I remember I removed the undershirt myself, but I'm not sure if I'm the one who added the skull print. I thought I'd seen this top years ago, with the skull on it, but I couldn't find it again to credit the (supposed) creator (if it's not me).

Black jacket: Uses the texture of this t-shirt by @serabiet;

Red jacket: Uses this cropped top by @linasims2;

Blue and Brown jackets: Both use textures of HalterEP8, a TF top from ApartmentLife.

Something very simple this time, since what actually bothered me about the original colors was that all 3 of them had the same pants and shoes. This was a collaborative project between @rudhira and I, using @pforestsims' mesh replacement as a base.

I made the new textures a couple of years ago, but none of the mesh replacements available quite fit what I had in mind. Last week, when I shared my ideas for this outfit on Garden of Shadows, Rudhira replied and did all the changes I needed to pforestsims' mesh. In fact, she did more than that and also shared a brand-new EM conversion.

With her permission, I merged the new mesh with my new textures, so everything needed is in one place. I also included the EM conversion here, as an optional, separate file (originally, it was merged with the mesh replacement). Another change I made to her files was set the outfit for everyday and formal wear (originally, everyday-only).
