It’s really too bad Mulder and Scully caught Toombs in Squeeze & killed him in S1 ep 21 since he was otherwise due to return in 2023. I mean, an X-Files special update where they captured Tooms and Scully actually did become head of the bureau would have been a nice way to end the X-Files tbh
