Me: I shouldn't disturb Neil Gaiman. I shouldn't send an ask unless I really have no way of getting the information otherwise. I'll check old interviews and all the articles that vaguely mention the subject. Of course it goes without saying that I'll read though the FAQ in its entirety. Only then, will I send an ask. However, I'd be very polite and praise his work, as anyone would. I'd also keep it short, because I don't want to waste his time. But I'd keep it very very respectful. I'd be sending a message to a very talented, amazing author that deals with god knows how many like me. Or I'd just stay in the dark and not send him an ask. Yeah, I'll do that.

I saw somebody say "what if Aziraphale tries to use the Book of Life to reinstate Crowley as an Angel" and this is what my mind conjured up.

neil gaiman writes a good omens 3 sex scene but it's done through euphemistic footage like champagne bottles popping and trains in tunnels however the footage gets progressively stranger, showing wile e coyote getting smooshed by an anvil, a paintball game, that ice cream commercial where the homunculus scoops ice cream out of its own head, a clown making balloon animals, someone blowing bubbles, a swarm of eels tearing apart a pepperoni pizza, world war 2 footage--until we cut to sheen & tennant sitting in the middle of an absolutely flattened apartment with sirens wailing in the distance. crowley has a shark head and aziraphale's dressed as napoleon.
I take it back I don't want gay angel sex asks anymore /j

As of late, I was thinking about how literary translation is absolutely fascinating. It has the opportunity to become a complete disaster at every other sentence but when it is done well it is absolute delight to read and to compare with the original. Like, have you ever thought about how hard it is to translate puns? It is practically a god tier of literary translation.
So, I’ve been thinking about this and I know what my most favorite instance of wonderfully translated pun is: it is the gayer than a treeful of monkeys on nitrous oxide one, from Good Omens.
I’ve read three different fan translations of Good Omens in Russian (when it was published officially I picked it up in a library specifically to look up how had they translated this phrase) and some of them were better and some of them were worse but all of them were centered on the fact that in russian language word blue can mean both color and ‘a gay man’. My favorite vertion of this phrase was something like bluer than the sky on a booklet advertising a tropical island vacation, and others were some kind of generic like a sky in the spring or something.
I’m not really sure where I was going with this except that I’m really curious now how it was translated into other languages. So pls, tell me?

Broke: Good Omens isn't a gay love story because Crowley and Aziraphale aren't in love
Woke: Good Omens is a gay love story because Crowley and Aziraphale are in love
Bespoke: Whether Good Omens is a gay love story or not is debatable; it is, however, undeniably a story of the love between Crowley and Aziraphale (whatever type of love that may be)
Neil Gaiman: Good Omens isn't a gay love story because while Crowley and Aziraphale are in love, they are not human males, they are an angel and a demon

Question: How was it preparing for a role to play an angel?
Michael Sheen: Well, you sort of can’t play an angel, you know, you kind of have to find little details to try and connect with. So I thought about, well, if I was on Earth for thousands of years what would I enjoy about that. And, well, Aziraphale is someone who really enjoyes quality when it comes to clothes and things, so even though Crowley just like makes up his clothes and he always looks fashionable, I wanted Aziraphale to look like he picked things up over the years. You know, so the nice waistcoat from the Victorian era or a nice jacket from the Edwardian era and he kept that. So that kind of built up the look of the character and I like the idea that he’s like a comfortable old sofa, but as a person.
And also thinking about, well, if he’s an angel then he’s love, you know, he just is a creature of love, so how does that affect his realionship with Crowley who’s supposed to be on the opposite side of. He just can’t help but love him as well at the same time.
So you sort of focus on those kinds of things rather than kind of label of angel.

Aziraphale with wings on fire (that’s the bible on the statue burning) and Crowley with black wings aka the rubble behind him. As usual, Aziraphale more in the light and Crowley in the dark.
Crowley rescued the eagle statue and took home as a memento.
