I like seeing shows like cursed child or the outsiders in June bc the authors from the original books have gone all on the whole “no one in the book is gay” miserable lonely author type beat and like you’re gonna look me in the eyes and tell me that Albus and Scorpius aren’t in love as I’m clutching the pride cursed child playbill?? You’re going to look me in the eyes and tell me not a single SOUL in the outsiders is part of the lgbtq+ community even like a LITTLE BIT?! As I’m holding onto my collection of pride playbills for dear life?!

Bringing back this doozy bc people got a kick out of it last year and the tech awards are still in a pre show that’s hard to find (like I had to dig and missed the first one 😔)
HATE the fact that the “less important” Tony’s (the tech awards) are thrown into a pre-show instead of being as important as best actor or show.
Without tech, there’d be no theater. THEY are the most important awards.
They are not the ones getting recognized at curtain or stage door. The Tonys are the only time they’re acknowledged by the common audience so put them in the main show with the energy, devotion, and love they deserve.
(Edit: as an actor myself, techies are literally my favorite people on the face of the earth)

Hey Chat,
I just saw Boop! The musical. Great show, phenomenal even. The cast, costumes, choreo, etc. was just downright incredible. The audience however, was one of the worst audience experiences I’ve ever had. Now, I don’t know if it was just the performance I saw or if it’s the audience for that show in general, but like never in my life.
I have sat in 32 different broadway theatres, sat through 43 separate broadway shows, and seen a Broadway show (including repeats) 63 times. I know a thing or two about Broadway audiences. What in someone’s right mind makes them think it’s okay to sing along even softly to a performance happening? Or to say the lines? Even if you’re saying/singing them just soft enough for people immediately in front, behind, and next to you. Those people did not pay up to HUNDREDS of dollars to hear someone in the audience perform. They spent that money to hear the Tony nominated cast perform. The people sitting behind you did not pay all that money to see you record the big number on your iPhone (that’s illegal btw). The people sitting next to, and in front of you, did not pay for you to take your shoes off and put your feet on the chair behind you, or take up two chairs laying down.
As someone who takes theater etiquette very seriously, it breaks my heart to see Broadway theatres being treated like a family living room on movie night. Live theater is a celebrated art and sport and the venue it’s performed in is a temple. It’s should be treated as such. I know theater etiquette as a whole has been getting worse, especially post covid, and it’s really disheartening to see. I wish the people (cast, crew, anyone involved) working on these incredible feats of art were given the proper respect and attention they deserve when putting on these works.
Also let me know if it was just the day I saw or if the audience for Boop! is just always like that. I genuinely loved the show but the audience’s theater etiquette just fell extremely short. I would love to see it again, maybe another night is just generally a better time to go besides a Saturday night?
Sincerely,
Me

As someone who grew up in catholic school and the church I think if I KNEW that every pope to ever exist since I joined the church hated me I’d have to leave the church. Like the Catholic guilt would’ve eaten me up day ONE if I knew a single pope hated me let alone each one that’s been pope since I joined.
Like especially knowing that the idea is that the cardinals are like guided by God or whatever to choose the next pope? Like that would imply if God guided cardinals multiple times to pick someone that hated one specific person right? Like living with catholic guilt and the idea that GOD chose multiple popes that hated me like I think I’d perish. Or at least never show my face again and leave the church.
And not only is he still part of the church, he’s holding public office.

Sometimes I wish I was still in highschool just so I could see what people’s reactions to certain events are.
Like I would LOVE to know my senior year civics and gov teacher’s reaction when he found out the new Pope went to the same university as him.

At what point does the Tony award account go back on live and say they made a mistake last year and give Chip Zien his Tony?

Guys what if just once the token old man on dancing with the stars was Chip Zien as a treat
Let me get the cast of Dancing With the Stars that I want.
Like I’d get rid of tik tok stars and bachelor nation and only have like people I know. To me it’d be great and riveting

I firmly believe that Make ‘em Laugh is one of the greatest cinematic feats any single actor has ever pulled off in the history of movies.

I’m such a head empty enjoyer of things I genuinely haven’t seen a tv show, movie, musical, play, or read a book I haven’t enjoyed as long as it’s entertaining.

The SAME day NJ Senator Cory Booker stood before Senate and broke a 68 year old record for longest speech in Senate history, the New Jersey Governor posted to his official (official meaning the governor page not his personal page) Instagram account for April Fools that he’d be making his directorial debut for the Broadway revival of Jersey Boys (which isn’t happening) and I’m lowkey mad I didn’t use that as my segue between the Cory Booker marathon speech and my regular Broadway posts
✊🏻😔
