i’m going to whisper a secret in your ear: the camarilla does have tzimisce. they’re called the tremere
Like entirely unrelated to questions of what Viss Should or Should Not be for and how palatable you’re allowed to get with it, the part that annoys me is that it’s caving to players whining about setting-based restrictions on what they can play. yeah the camarilla doesn’t like fleshcrafters. even the evil cammies don’t like it when you appear to be one of the guys who make people pianos. because those have been their sworn enemies for hundreds of years. and it offends the sensibilities of every cammie who has convinced themselves they’re not Really evil. As far as I can tell, much like lasombra anti, volgirre are a response to players who were banging their fists on the table and yelling “but whyyyyyy doesn’t the camarilla have tzimisce!!!”

None of this bothers me personally as much as the fact that this is apparently a valid way for Cammie characters to have Viss. Why is that ever allowed. Why are they less kill-on-sight than the tzimisce. Volgirre can exist but the tower should be hunting them for sport
It's all fictional and doesnt actually matter but I am enough of a Metamorphosist that viss being yoinked for any other clan is a rage button lolol

i can't explain it, but the older you get, the more you realize that the hornier, filthier the music is, the better it is for cleaning. it is not good for sex. it's good for cleaning. if it's breathtakingly misogynistic? even better. i'm sorry, Hollywood Undead, i'm sure you think Everywhere I Go was written to fuck to while blown out on a couple lines of coke, but you're wrong. it's for Fabuloso and industrial grade cleaning vinegar and degreaser. the only daddy here is Scrub Daddy. sorry.

a friend just heard the alarm in the background over vc and was like "Is that a fire alarm???" and I was like "yeah" and she was like "V, that means the building's on fire!!" and I was like "no it doesn't"
my building's fire alarms are about as useful as car alarms. they go off all the time for completely unknown reasons and literally not even once, not even one time, has the building actually been on fire

On the note of exploitation -- I have a friend who, for the sake of disambiguating "asexual", let's call "completely sexless" (he would agree).
One time he was asking me, surprised, about how it seems like the entire OF/e-girl model revolves around exploiting men who don't have good judgement, and I had to tell him that many men will literally try to buy nudes off women who aren't even selling them.
not even being a hater to the OF chick, there are way bigger unethical ways to make a living (work at major tech company, be one of those people who does children’s content via tablet, sell fentanyl, etc)
that said, it’s an oddly hilarious development of the future world we live in that we’ve managed to create a form of sex work that feels almost or more exploitative to the buyer than to the seller. Like, “intentionally foster parasocial relationship with dysfunctional losers” is a pretty cold-hearted job, when you think about it.
that said, I still mostly blame the men for being losers and falling for it. Gonna cut this topic off before I say anything unhinged
I mean honestly I have a real difficulty being that sympathetic to people who actually expect a bespoke personal relationship with a model with literal thousands of fans paying the same amount they do? So I should probably feel slightly worse for them than I do but like. What was the actual reasonable expectation here.
It is just endlessly amusing to me that it turns out one of the things robots are best at is emotional labor (in the original Hoschchild sense). Can't trust it with math or consistently applying directives but it can provide the experience of being slavishly attended upon by someone who cares about you more than anything in the world 24/7 without issue.

wrt last post, okay, I get some of it. Some of the time it genuinely is the case that people's entire goal is to be special, and they're going to pick a type just so they can play against it.
Years ago, when I played SWTOR, I started keeping track of what skin colors other roleplayers picked for their Twi'leks. This is because -- according to canon at the time -- blue Twi'leks are rare and red Twi'leks are even rarer, but I thought I was seeing an awful lot of red Twi'leks in RP circles.
After a couple months of counting, there were more red Twi'lek characters than every other color combined.
If your setting says most elves are blue but a few of them are green, you have very good odds a majority of your elf PCs will be green. If it says blue elves are normal, green elves are unusual, and purple elves are even rarer, roleplayers are going to make purple elves more often than anything else. This is fine if your setting also has a rich crowd of NPCs present; if (such as a vampire LARP) it's populated almost entirely by PCs, then you have a problem.
My old vampire LARP largely mitigated this by ruling that you needed written approval from a clan coord, or whoever was in charge of the correct area of shit, to play variants that were designated rare.

I just don't get it when people decide to play Clan Where The Whole Point Is X and then think to themselves "how can I avoid playing X"
my vtm toxic trait is i haaate the concept of "pretty" nosferatu. the second their hideousness is downgraded to "they smell a little bad and take a social penalty for it", "so beautiful it's uncanny", "their face looks normal but it's completely still, so it's toootally unnerving".... i know requiem and V5 lean into this concept but what can i say? i'm a child of revised. why play a monstrous masquerade-breaking sewer gremlin who has to hide if you don't want to play a monstrous masquerade-breaking sewer gremlin who has to hide. 😐
someone on the subreddit said bertram tung from vtmb was TOO MUCH aksfhsjshshs. some of you are weak and will not survive the winter nictuku.

My crazy-person take on this remains: Those people are right to be constantly paranoid and suspicious, because the culture they have constructed for themselves is one where their partnerships are not based on any sort of real emotional bond, they are primarily about what you get out of the relationship materially (money, sex, and status, mostly). People of similar qualities are interchangeable to them and one of the main drivers of commitment is just "I should be a loyal person".
This is why they are insane and paranoid about their partners talking to literally anyone of the right gender (if it's not just a belief that any two people broadly attracted to each other's demographics will always want to fuck). Because they know that "trading up" is theoretically on the table, and they live in fear of their partner meeting someone who theoretically has more to offer than they do. The emotional bond doesn't matter to them, their attachment to this particular person doesn't matter, their paradigm is one where if you, like, meet someone who's hotter and makes more money and doesn't have a repellent personality, there's no reason not to ditch your current partner for them except the concept that loyalty makes you a good person. (Not because you want to be loyal to that person! But because it's something you're supposed to live up to.)

Heterosexual relationship culture is so alien to me and I don’t know if it’s the fact I’m not cishet or the fact I’m autistic but I hear so many things that make me go “Am I insane or are they?”
There’s a lot of hate on widowers and I saw a woman say “You cannot compete with a dead woman.” which is perhaps a reasonable statement to say if he’s constantly comparing you to his dead partner but that wasn’t what the post was about. And I realized “Oh my God, these people genuinely feel like they’re constantly in competition with their spouse’s exes and the ex being dead makes them feel insecure that they cannot best her.”
There’s also been an uptick in the ‘men and women cannot be ‘just’ friends’ rhetoric which I feel like is extremely dangerous and reflects the rise of fascism and sexism. Some of these stories of women feeling threatened by their husband’s female best friend have some merit and others are like “I feel angry that my husband still talks to the girl he grew up next door to and she and her wife are invited to family gatherings and included in family photos sometimes. Am I right to be suspicious?” No. No you’re not. I cannot imagine being you and living with that high level of stress and paranoia and constant torment and jealousy about your husband having a positive relationship with anyone who isn’t you.

There's maybe a concern about a "crash" after going without stimulation for a while, but I don't actually know if that's something most people should be worried about. Like, that was an atypical response I also had to TMS and ECT, which the study guys were specifically interested in when I mentioned it. That might just be a feature of my brain disease. Maybe a normal person's brain would just calm down without rebounding.
I got kind of skepticized on the idea of people getting addicted and desensitized to wireheading after actually having it done to me. I mean, maybe it's different when you hit a literal pleasure button, which, mine wasn't in any of the spots they were tickling. But my experience was that after the first several jolts, even if it's a neutral/moderately positive experience, it feels like it builds on itself. you get kind of overwhelmed and you want to take a break. hitting the electric energy button is helpful the first time and too much after the third or fourth time that hour
