Observation of the background & landscapes in the major arcana
I’ve ordered the cards in a gradient of background colours, and attempt to maintain continuation of the background landscape
From the darkness and chaos to the light and peace
The past
People hang on to hope (the star) and their fears are magnified greatly (moon).
The tower
As the tower collapsed, any illusion of security and safety is shattered.
For the common people, patience (the temperance) is the only thing we can count on to survive the dark times. Also for many it’s a time to indulge in hedonistic pleasure as there is no hope any more (the devil).
However also note that chaotic times often birth the greatest and the worst. For the chosen ones this is a time where anything is possible (magician). For people with bad intentions this is the time to exploit the weak and vulnerable (also the devil)
The aftermath
After the tower fell, it will take awhile before we count the bodies… and the power redistribution to settle down. Loss of lives, ideas, wars. The end of an era (death)
When faced the loss and the reality sinks in. How to move on is the most pressing issue. First thing we need will be the enforcement of order (Justice) and security (emperor).
As soon as the sense of security is re-established, we look for meaning and value in what happened (the high priestess and the high priest). Or some turn to reason and logic to try to make sense of it (the hermit).
As faith and security is enforced, and knowledge deepened. The action takers are prepared. They can go on once again for their journey (the chariot)
Moving on
The common people are also back to their normal lives, chasing new passions (lovers), finding nourishment (empress), making love (new births - the empress).
Some might inevitably be sacrificed in all this (the hanged man). Perhaps the offsprings of who was believed to be the sinners and criminals. Perhaps the children of the victims. Or it’s everyone. But time heals..
The last card is the fool. Eventually you see the sky’s clearing up in the hanged man, and the empress. In the fool we see the sky a pale light grey. Blank canvas for the fool to go on new discoveries without burdens of the past

2022.5.18 a reading about work
we are at the very end stage of this project, handing over our work to the client today. I’m asked to finish my outstanding today(!!) by the boss
so I turned to the cards for some advice
Situation

Problem
Judgement - client will start their testing and review of our work
Page 🔥 - feeling like there’s still features / ideas / improvements can be added to it… idk
Advice
7 🌊 - leave the code alone as soon as it’s all stable
4 🌊 - and don’t overthink or overanalyse
Outcome
5 🔥 - change - project handing over … perhaps clients will send us big tickets or request changes again … but butterflies implies this is the start of a new stage

Well looks like the handover will involve a bit more back and forth… but thankfully it’s not my job to talk to the clients 😄
And as long as I’m gonna get paid i have no complaints 🟡 ok. Done with cards now I should go back to writing more code 👩🏻💻
