LEGACY FNM 05/08 @ Demo-Spel Leuven

UW Bomberman
With Emjati's Eternal Weekend coming in I decided for a practice run with my pet deck UW Bomberman to maybe narrow down the last SB slots. I've been playing some Jankier decks lately so going through the motions wouldn't be bad either to refresh ye olde muscle memory.
R1: Amulet Titan
G1 I open on Ancient Tomb into Chalice of the Void on 1 and hear moaning on the other side of the table. They open up on Urza's Saga and I follow suit. They get a second one on board while I proceed to start making constructs and fetch up a Mox Opal with the trigger. He plays a GU karoo land and passes. I cast Teferi, Time Raveler bouncing the newest saga and start beating face. His saga triggers, he fetches up Amulet of Vigor starts doing math and scoops.
IN: 2 Cathar Commando OUT: 1 Lodestone Bauble, 1 Karn, Scion of Urza
G2 I keep a hand with all the pieces needed for a combo (Auriok Salvagers, Lion's Eye Diamond, Sai, Master Thopterist). He gets a pretty quick Primeval Titan in play, fetches up nothing of relevance to stop me from going off on the next turn saccing my infinite thopters and revealing Walking Ballista from the top.
1-0 / 2-0 - Phantom Centaur
R2: Lands
G1 I get a turn 2 Sai, Master Thopterist down and make 2 thopters with LED and a Mishra's Bauble. He doesn't have the fastest start and Crop Rotations his Forest for a Tabernacle. I stack the upkeep triggers to check my top card first and see the missing Auriok Salvagers. I let my creatures die to the Tabby trigger and combo him out using a Walking Ballista I had in hand.
IN: 2 Cathar Commando OUT: 1 Lodestone Bauble, 1 Karn, Scion of Urza
G2 he opens up on Ancient Tomb into Sphere of Resistance, damn. Fortunately I kept a hand with Cathar Command and have plenty of land drops to make. T2 he plays another Sphere, I respond with an Ancient Tomb myself to catch up a bit. T3 he plays Thorn of Amethyst... the hate is strong in this one. I make another land drop and flash in Cathar Commando on his end of turn and start turning it sideways. He finds Punishing Fire along the way but the tax works both ways fortunately. A 3 mana bauble finds an Auriok Salvagers with the extra draw, I extend my board and get there on the fairest of beats.
2-0 / 4-0 - Everlasting Lich?
R3: Jund Phoenix-Smog
G1 he mulls to 5 and pretty much dumps his hand to get 1 Arclight Phoenix on board. I get a quick Sai, Master Thopterist going with some triggers and take a quick win from there.
IN: 2 Containment Priest, 2 Lavinia, Azorious Renegade OUT: 1 Lodestone Bauble, 1 Karn Scion of Urza, 1 Engineered Explosives, 1 Urza's Bauble
G2 we both mull to 5 and he dumps his hand to shred my hand with discard spells. I recover faster than him due to baubles letting me churn faster through the deck and finding threats.
3-0 / 6-0 - N/A
R4: Esper Control
G1 I keep a hand on the back of T1 Chalice of the Void, it sticks, he sees 4 drawsteps afterwards, discards a Brainstorm along the way and scoops. I know this player to be control oriented and board accordingly.
IN: 2 Lavinia, Azorious Renegade, 2 Cathar Commando OUT: 1 Lotus Petal, 1 Lodestone Bauble, 1 Engineered Explosives, 1 Urza's Bauble
G2 I keep a somewhat slower serviceable hand with combo potential and a Lavinia, Azorious Renegade but he uses Swords to Plowshares on it and sticks a Back to Basics afterwards. I try to set myself up for a combo turn but fail to find an Auriok Salvagers in time. Meanwhile he beats me down with Monastery Mentor and Snapcaster Mage.
G3 and I open up a hand that can open on Chalice of the Void on 1 by dumping a bunch of 0's and a Mox Opal. Figuring I have some redraws and a Trinket Mage to follow up to search missing pieces I decide to keep this one, for science! Chalice sticks but doesn't matter in the long run. He plays Baleful Strix, I search up an artifact land with Trinket Mage but don't see much more with the redraws. He B2B me once more and plays a Void Rend (spicy) on the Chalice of the Void. I do a desperate 'Teferi, Time Raveler, bounce Trinket Mage, crack LED in response replay TM and search up a Walking Ballista' move but the draw isn't relevant and I scoop pretty quickly afterwards to his full grip of cards.
3-1 / 7-2 - Thunderblust
We have a 4 way tie with people ending the night on 3-1. My breakers end up the best due to both the Amulet Titan and Esper Control player ending up 3-1 as well. Great Succes!
Won a foil promo pack and ripped a foil Chandra, Awakened Inferno which is at least legacy Moon Stompy playable. Semi-decent.
Post FNM notes:
Lodestone Bauble and Karn, Scion of Urza are getting cut on a regular basis. Karn is the first to go and start trying Displacer Kitten for an extra combo angle.
Manabase still feels solid with the singleton Urza's Saga replacing the previous Skycloud Expanse slot. Needs to be reassessed in a Kitten list.
Sai, Master Thopterist continues to overperform and cover up the hole vs flying threats but 2 feels right as it's quite bad in multiples. Prime Red Blast target in todays meta.
Still pretty convinced in not running Gyruda, Doom of Depths. Teferi, Sai and Mentor provide enough to the deck to bypass the 'free' combo outlet in the sb. Will continue testing Gyruda in BW constellation after Emjati EW to beat up on local DnT, Elves, Goblins etc. matchups.
Might switch out the Liquimetal Coating SB slot, rarely wish for it and feels like a 'win more' card most of the time.
