Cloud computing, business benefits and risks
When speaking of what is cloud computing, some people may think of file storage and synchronization services such as iCloud on iPhone and iPad or Google Drive on Android. The fact is that storage is only one part of cloud computing and there are more to discover about it. Generally, Microsoft Azure defined cloud computing as the delivery computer services, servers, storage databases, networking, software, analytics, intelligence and more over the Internet, offer faster innovation flexible resources and economies of scale. It can be seen that after everything came into a digital platform, the internet connected people and information from around the world together. It offers various benefits to a business enterprise as follows:

Cost Reduction
Perhaps, the cost is one of the most significant interest for every business, benefits of using cloud computing will help a company reduce IT cost (infrastructure, software, and equipment). You may invest for other noteworthy factors rather than spend on hardware or licensing.
Scalability
IT things might sound problematic without expert staff. You might not be sure which system to use or how to install and process. Cloud computing service provider can help you find the right system for your business. For those businesses such as Startup or SME, cloud computing allows them to scale up or scale down the operation and storage depends on the situation.
Flexible
There is no question about that, it allows to set up a business system and you can access and connect to your business easier from everywhere. It is practical for multinational business as well when offices might be located in different countries. For example, cloud computing is beneficial in the airline industry, allows staff to deal with vast quantities of data globally in order to keep up with a customer and runs the operation.

There are more benefits of cloud computing which not mention; however, cloud computing also comes with risks. On the flipside, as its more comfortable and faster because of the internet, thus it easier for an unwanted party to access that information. Security is always the most problematic issue mentioned concerned on cloud computing from every size business. Unfortunately, because everything is host and upload to the internet, hackers might use this spot to cause damage or to steal sensitive data from systems. For instance, in 2016, LinkedIn (business-focused social network) reported 6 million user passwords were stolen and posted for sale on the dark web by hackers. This showed us that unexpected event could also happen even with the big website.
In my personal opinion, the best cost of action to reduce security breaches is to invest in a well-secured system (robust data protection policies and compliance awareness) and staff. Because we do not know when will it happens, the faster of the development of technology means those hackers will have newer ways to hack as well. Always keep up with updated technology, make sure you know how to use it properly, and it will be safe.

Smart technology, risks and privacy
Smart technology now is involved in people’s life such as various household gadgets in order to make everything easier. If we throwback to decades ago, thermostat, hi-fi or using your voice to control lightening system are distant and imagining. Starting from the mid twenty centuries, nowadays technologies allow databases, sensors and wireless access to each other sense in many terms such as household, education, and industry. Smart remote controller and cleaning robots are typically used widely in the household. The user can control every gadget via the internet, and they can even use pet care robot to feed their pets by using phone applications. It offers convenience plus it helps people in saving cost as well as human labor as housemaid or gardener. As mentioned those benefits of smart technology, it also brought to some negative aspects as mention follows.
Information privacy

The most concerned when thinking of the user information privacy when everything processing by internet system, it is possible to be hacked and unsafe to the user’s privacy. Because some technology is very new, people might not be aware of its pros and con and barely read terms and conditions and not aware of what will happen after connected to the product. For example, a computer or security system can be hacked, and might leads to crimes and other problems. Even though there are regulations such as the GDPR tried to protect user’s data, an unexpected event may happen if they are careless. In my personal opinion, a user shall study all the necessary information or how to set that product securely in order to prevent from those situations. They shall know why product and company require their personal data or how they process that information as well.
A system can break down

Another significant challenge of using smart technology is some people may rely too much on technologies and not know what to do when it breaks down. For example, on 24November 2018, a fire broke out at the building of KT Corporation which is one of the largest telephone company in South Korea led to all mobile and internet networks, as well as Internet Protocol TV services completely went down in mostly western Seoul (The capital city of South Korea). As I know, Seoul is one the smart city, people barely use cash and everything can purchase by credit card even street food. Most people rely on internet banking and use WIFI to connect everything in their household.

Due to the fire, not only household gadgets went down, the operations of shops, convenience stores, and restaurants in the areas were also shut down as the communications networks of KT errored. It can be seen from this situation that the system can break down and when it occurred, it affected everything. People should prepare themselves to deal with such a situation too so it might not affect their daily and work life.

Challenges of Copyright infringement in K-POP society

Generally speaking, no question K-POP trend becoming widespread among music industry all around over the world. One significant factor is because of technology, the ability to access made not only a nation but also the number of international fans are increasing like crazy. I do still remember when I was 12, satisfied with watching a 144p video of K-pop band I like, but everything upgraded to 1080HD or even more. It might be a benefit for both of a band and me, fans can access their content, and the group can promote themselves to gain more popularity. But when we consider on a flipside, because of everything can post online, copyright infringement came into concerns since a band’s primary value is from their music. Two main K-POP copyright infringement concerning on the internet is illegal music and concert streaming.

Music stream
A decades ago before we have music streaming platforms providers as Apple Music, Tidal or Spotify, music is mainly sold in the form of CD and DVD. Even a little later than that people still prefer to download illegal MP3 on the website rather than legal purchase on iTunes or buy a physical edition. In my perspective, as I’ve done all of that things before I think people became more aware of copyright infringement after music streaming platforms were introduced. There was a case study enlightened me the awareness of digital market of people due to this issue in the reaction from Korean internet society (commonly call netizens) toward one member of a girl-group who streamed music illegally via SoundCloud. Although the situation was intense even after she came out apologized to society. However, there are still challenges this situation as an illegal stream can always normally found on YouTube and SoundCloud.
Concert and Awards stream
Legal challenges regarding this topic are smartphone and the internet made it harder to control both. There are regulations about permission in both events and streaming is sure are not allowed. Nonetheless, an organizer cannot ban smartphone from both events, they cannot control all the people who attend the events not to stream as well which leads to the widespread of illegal video and stream. In the past, I do understand those international fans who stream illegally because of ‘this streaming is not available in your country’ issue. Then again nowadays even there is legal stream released in for some awards show, an illegal streamer wants to gain attention from fans still stream (such as likes and retweet).

A website like Mixlr was used for illegal stream and the vast majority of fans who take advantages from an unlawful stream is because a legal stream is lacking and flushed by comments due to the enormous amount of user in the same time. All in all, I think there still have copyright infringement challenges in this issue. It seems that most Korean entertainment might choose to give up with this argument, this still probably needs to be in concerns in order to protect both company and artist’s benefits.
