A dim-lit window hangs Aside the bed with covers strewn On the creeping cloud of dust Scattering as the old clock clangs, The low light of a buzzing screen Warms the chair which it lays A faint afterglow in its place The room fades to be unseen, A girl flutters her eyes And asleep she lies.

A wave washing over her mind, Swept through a warmth not felt on her skin, Seeing choices not to be made, World and memories little defined She jumps into the reflection of rain and snow, The damp scent deflects Her nose and her skin, Time passes, ticking slow, Drifting toward a familiar face Of a memory she dares not jump to chase.

Smothering smiles stare At her long face cast down To a time of deafening silence Of nothing but the cold glare, Only to back away in terror From the minds that scare her.

To an empty road, she trods Through trees and wooded eyes, The repeating smirk of sorrow In her mind, it prods Until she turns around, Moving not an inch, She jumps through the sky And lands on solid ground. A white dome surrounds her, Singing notes that once were, A small home, ship unmanned, Piano keys touched by a gentle hand.

She lays softly on clouds, Drifting slowly out of bounds Of her mind.

Clashing keys in her ears, She takes a step And falls, The world disappears, Leaving all that's left a hollow hole, Whispering winds learning to shout In her mind, the only soul. But as she turns to the cry she hears A timid face that meets her eyes, Softly sobbing all alone, Face dripping with dry tears. She reaches out to the broken bones, The torn limbs left all alone, Unseen by light in years. The creature’s crying at her touch Halts eye in eye, The image crashing into a thousand mirrors

She stares back, Matted hair Tired eyes Lifeless stare Not having seen the light Since the last night she dreamed.

Little red moths flutter

Tunnel vision glowing bright

Shivering winds cause a shudder

There’s been a mistake, a major mistake

Not how you’re supposed to feel, not another utter

Not a complain, not an ache

Red glow, red tunnel

Whisper to the hiding place

Crawled right from out of the rubble

Red smile plagues the face

Candle glowing on the road, a sign

Blaring come to us, to erase

Fluttering wings begin to align

Two steps closer along the highway

Colors whirring now entwine

Light of red now in decay

Little red moths everywhere

Life flying into the air
