Life never seemed so good. As I lay in my bed and the clock reads 11; I think back on the days of my life where I cried. For joy and my own happiness.

The first time i got the 1 thing i asked for for Christmas

The time I won a contest and made my family proud.

....the first time i tried my prom dress on.

Now the last one sticks with me even to this day. Me, my mom and my grandmother went dress shopping. We went into a Bryan's bridal because I saw this pretty blue dress. It wasn't much but it was something I knew I wouldn't look good in. Yet I still tried it on.

Being someone who wears glasses i had to take them off because the lady working at the store had me put it over my head and not step into it.

I walked out felling pretty, something I am not accustomed to, and stepped in front of my family and looked in the mirror.

And i mean really looked.

Who was this girl? And why did she looks so gorgeous?!

Then I realized it was me. And i started crying. My mom said I shouldn't cry because its not a wedding dress. I laughed it off because she didn't know at the time the amount of self hatred I carried.

For the first time in a loooooonnng time I felt beautiful, gorgeous, regal. Something that I never realized I could be.

That this girl who was told by people she was 2nd and not her own person had such beauty that it brought tears to her eyes.

That for the first time in years she drew the curtains back and felt the sun on her skin. That she pulled the sheet off the mirror and looked at all she was for the first time.

I still deal with the self hatred and doubtful thoughts at my potential worthlessness. But then that dress pops into my head.

Blue and deep as the evening sky, smooth and rough like the sea, shining and sparkling with diamons to glow and shine in the light or the sun. Strong and sturdy as a tree showing its first buds of spring. This dress, makes me remember I. AM. PERFECT. Just the way I am. And my beauty is one of a kind.

The thoughts that show up late in the calm of night are usually profound and meaningful. So if you take anything away from my story I hope its that you are perfect. You may not see it yet, but ...you will. You will see your worth every single beautiful thing this world has to offer. That you are a star among the sky creating infinite possibilities with your fingertips.

Remember. You are loved beyond all measure.
