RENEGADES 4TH BOOK NEWS:

Marissa Meyer has just released a new Happy Writer Podcast in which she officially confirms it: there WILL be a 4th Renegades book! This 4th book could be a sequel series which could include not one but several books taking place in the world of Renegades after the events of Supernova! She hasn't written anything yet other than just ideas. We still have to wait a few more years to read this book but GUYS IT’S FINALLY HAPPENING

This might be an unpopular opinion, (but this fandom is on life support so who cares) but I personally wish Ace hadn’t killed Novas parents. To me, there’s something so much more compelling with having Nova learn to realize that just because the people who loved her and cared for her genuinely love her, doesn’t mean they aren’t bad people who should be stopped. Idk I felt like making Ace be responsible for her families death makes her decision to turn against Ace almost too easy? And it makes Ace as a character less interesting.

Give me the crazed violent anarchist who cares about his family, the Ace who took in his niece, used his powers to ring bells just to make this traumatized girl laugh. And then show me that girl all grown up, realizing her wise, stern, but always loving uncle is wrong and needs to be stopped, and turning against him to do good and make her dead family proud, even if it means betraying the man who raised her.

Like give me the ANGST. Give me the tortured conflict between good and evil. This series is all about shades of gray and having Ace kill his own brother and not love his niece makes things WAY too easy and takes all of that away.
