“Of course I’ve ridden a bike. Hey you wanna let me drive?” Damian wiggled his brows and laughed.

“Alright, sounds like we got a fair bit of adventuring to do,” Johnny pulled his keys out of his jeans and jingled them a bit, “You ever ridden a bike before?”

“I have to say that I agree with you though, in all honesty... People are frustrating.”

Damian grinned and stood a little taller, there was something about this guy that made him feel proud to be able to spot a tree. “I’m a natural.”

“I’ve got plenty of tools lying around. I’m not sure about wood planks, though. But we could go buy some?”

John came to the window and followed his finger, nodding in approval, “You could have a future in tree-spotting. That looks like a fine place upon which to build your fortress,” he smiled over at the younger boy.

“Now, are you as good at finding tools as you are finding trees? I’m afraid I forgot to pack my drills and hammers. Or wood planks.”

“Oh man, your life is rough. Not enough closet space?”

“I don’t think the plants reached out toward the trees?” Damian moved toward a window and glanced around. “Yeah I think these vines kind of stayed on the building for some reason.” He looked back to John.

“There is a great tree right out there, look.” He moved back to the window and pointed into the distance.

John smiled broadly, “More than willing. Can’t remember the last time I got to put these hands towards creating something.”

“The only snag is the first step, which is finding a tree. Which might be more than tricky considering the…” he waved his hands toward the grounds, “…current foliage situation.”

Damian let out a sigh and shrugged. “I think things will be back to normal very soon. If not, I’ll have to start building tree-houses for everyone.” He chuckled a bit, more to himself than anything.

“Hmmm. You make a great point!” 

“I think I’ll be able to handle it, but.. What the heck, if you’re willing to help out..?”

“All I’m saying is if you go feral and fight them off, not sure there’s much they can do about it.”

“I’m pretty handy if you want to throw in some booby traps for kicks.”

“How inconvenient.” Damian let out a tired sigh. “They try to tell you this place is safe but I mean... It’s an academy full of heroes, superhumans, villains etcetera I’m not sure what any of us expected.”

“Have you not heard anything either? Tt! Some staff they’ve got here..” Damian huffed and shook his head.

“Think they’d actually let me build a treehouse on campus and live in it? That would be pretty sweet.”

“You could probably build a treehouse. Single family Robinson.”

“So... Is my room fixed yet? I don’t much enjoy sleeping in a cramped room with two other people. I much prefer living alone.”

“Okay, good point about the building collapsing. We should reinforce the building first and then take out the source.” Damian yanked a vine from the wall and shook his head. “As for this Isley person.. She can get over it.”

“Please, by all means, do,” Aldrich announced calmly as he looked towards the other student, “then when you’ve weakened the only thing supporting the structure and it collapses, possibly upon someone, then take your boldness and face down Isley upon her eventual return. I’m sure she’d love to hear how you took her babies out ‘at the source’.”

“I think we should take this out at the source, does anyone know where that might be?” Damian ran his hand along a vine as he strolled in the opposite direction of which the plant was growing. “I mean hasn’t anyone thought of that yet.. You people can’t be that dumb.”

“Yeah, you don’t just go around hugging people. What would that have helped? Did I look like I needed a hug?” He raised his brows at her but squinted and shook his head. “You know what, don’t answer that...”
