Wreck-Gar blinked down at him in slight confusion before giving a small shrug, tossing the party favors back behind him (some made it back into his garbage pack, some missed).

As he was freed from the rumble, the large robot lifted a stabilizer, a pleased smile forming on his faceplates as he hopped from boot to boot. “This is much better, thank you! Oh, did you happen to see an accordion down there at all? I seemed to have dropped mine!”

“You’re rather welcome.”

A brow crooked. He bent at his waist, then, knelt to better look.

“No--Yes. I do. Blast this heap.” Shademan grumbled. The oversized, clawed hands rematerialized at both sides of him. As he looked into the debris, the hands grabbed up rock, shoveling it away behind him.

“Ahah.”

One of the claws plucked up the slinky body of the accordion from its excavation. Shademan held out a hand, and the spectral one looming above extended it to Wreck-Gar. The instrument made a pathetic wheeze of noise as it dangled.

“Relatively unscathed. I’m not a miracle worker.”

No no but I really think it’s interesting how Darkloids reject any necessity for mankind despite coming from an infrastructure that man made. It’s like they’ve made their own independent ecosystem, makes me think of like. Dogs and wolves? Metaphor gets a little lost but I think you might get what I mean.

Cut sighs and thinks for a moment, the points were fair but…maybe it was just him, just, something didn’t feel right about this argument. Maybe that was due to knowing others with the same mentality and things not ending well.

“Well, I think it should trouble them. I mean, they should at least think about it. It’s useful when getting prospective on things, at least, it is to me.”

Even if the orange bot didn’t fully understand Shade or his intentions, he at least wanted to hear him out. After all, if this Navi was anything like the Stardroids or King, might as well try and see if he could prevent an incident like they caused. 

“I think about that, yes. There are many differences between you robots crafted by humans and beings like me who were not. Perhaps you were always intended to be more kind and friendly. I have noticed that despite there being millions of humans crawling on this planet...they always seem to be lonely. Navis, robots, you do jobs for humans, but they also see you as companions. Whether it’s said or not, that is an implicit part of your purpose.”

“Maybe the ‘problem’ in being a Darkloid is that we are exempt from this relationship. We have nothing to gain, so we see no reason to be invested in human or artificial friends. It may seem strange to you...but it simply doesn’t cross our minds.”

“It’s nothing serious, this time, big man, trust me. You remember that whole party thing, yeah yeah? Well. I miiiight have blown out some of the lights while I was ‘testing’ ‘em. And maybe also a fog machine. How was I supposed to know that Real World decor couldn’t handle me?” He snickered. “With your reaction you’re making it sound like I got arrested or something.”

Shademan heaved a sigh and rolled his eyes--he had to look away to gather himself. 

“You had me worried, BrightMan. Ease up next time that you decide to do your testing. My resources aren’t totally endless.”

“Next time I may consider sending another Darkloid to supervise. You wouldn’t want to be babysat.”

DO YOU EVER THINK ABOUT THAT. HOW VULNERABLE IT MAKES ROBOTS FROM THE ORIGINAL SERIES TO INTERACT W NAVIS WHO ARE DIGITAL BEINGS. THEY CAN ALTER ALL THINGS DIGITAL THEY ARE TRANSFERRED INTO. IM SURE MOST ROBOTS HAVE PROTECTIONS SO THEY ARENT HACKED AND SHIT BUT STILL IN THEORY. GOD. WE KNOW THAT NAVIS CAN BREAK DOWN DIGITAL BARRIERS IF THEYRE STRONG ENOUGH.
