Let me start by saying that we converted to full fledge Vegans! Well at least for a day! :) . Last Saturday we headed to the Eat Drink Vegan Festival. A big thanks to the @eatdrinkvegan team for inviting us to cover the event! . . For 2018 the event had amped up their lineup with both nationally and internationally acclaimed restaurants and brands, each debuting or serving one-of-a-kind exclusive dishes and beverages. . . The festival featured over 100 highly curated restaurants & food vendors, 250+ beverages including, and one of the biggest reasons we were there, UNLIMITED pours of craft beer, curated by Jimmy Han of @beerbelly_la, who did an awesome job bringing together some of the best independently owned craft breweries that our region has to offer! . . This was one of the best events we’ve been to thus far! Amazing VEGAN food and solid craft. On 4/20 we headed to @laaleworks. This was our first time at one of Hawthorne's original breweries. A nice facility located in the industrial side of the city (of course). Those of you that follow our IG stories, you might have got a glimpse our shenanigans that day and the fantastic brews we sampled alongside some mind-blowing barbecue from @bartz.barbecue ! We got to meet some pretty cool locals who make LA Ale Works their home brewery. We also got a chance to pick up their latest can release of Lunar Kitten and Lion CLAAWs, a collaboration with @firestonewalker_propagator. Last Friday we headed to one of the newest brewery and taprooms near the heart of Los Angeles. Located in the industrial side of Chinatown the recently opened @highlandparkbrewery (HPB) had found a new home for their second brewery and tasting room. The building and interior design distinctively separates the two breweries from each other. Although, the feel and ambiance is different from the historic Hermosillo in Highland Park, the brews and food offerings is all HPB. We stayed for their latest can release and snagged the two offerings before they were sold out. These included Yeah, Yeah - Hazy IPA and Late Night- Imperial Stout 🤤. The new location is a nice addition to the area and truly sets itself apart from all the other nearby buildings. Although parking can be tricky and sometimes difficult, it’s not impossible. If you are in the DTLA area be sure to stop by the new brewery and tasting room, trust us you will not be disappointed. Pre/Post Dodger Game brews anyone!? So about 14 years ago, The Alchemist Brewery (@alch3mistb33r) released a new IPA called Heady Topper. A non filtered and unpasteurized beer. The results was a thicker IPA with microscopic hop resin compounds and particulates that added their signature hop forward flavor and orange juice- like look. Arguably, it’s been said that Heady Topper was the original hazy beer that kicked off this “Haze Craze” that has recently taken the industry by storm! We were lucky enough to get a few of these shipped to NP Headquarters in SoCal. A perfect way to end the week!
