Quality vs. Quantity seems to always be up for debate. Quality is the clear winner right? Maybe not. Certain products and services need a certain level of quality to support their value. Movement and nutrition certainly need some quality standards. Everything needs targets for improving quality. But without quantity, quality can never improve. Can you become the best at something by only doing it once? Nah. You improve quality in all things by the practice and opportunity that quantity provides. Quality is inert. It is what it is. And it is only what someone thinks it is and can only be measured in what someone will trade money for it. Quantity, on the other hand, is measured in facts, figures, and is loaded with objectivity. Quantity is measurable, repeatable, scalable, and is ultimately equally or even more so than quality... valuable. If it is worth doing once it’s worth doing every day. Quality should be inherent to what you do, what you provide, who you are, and what you stand for. You shouldn’t have to focus on it. Focus on getting more practice, more opportunities, and more reps in—then you will figure out where you can add more value, consistently progress, and improve quality even more. #physicaltherapy #physiotherapy #movementismedicine #goals #qualityvsquantity #practice #habits https://www.instagram.com/p/CEA-duCHOtg/?igshid=40ohjbdtu0kg

It’s not a secret... the research has been around for a while. The research is definitive. What does the research say?... Asymptomatic people have jacked up anatomy on their MRIs. Unfortunately, advanced imaging is still being used to make sense of people’s pain without being correlated to a detailed history, clinical presentation, and movement capacity. This is a slippery slope to a surgical procedure that may not be necessary. One study reveals that an early Advanced imaging group actually had worse clinical outcomes and spent $13,000 more than the group who did not receive imaging. You can not equate pain and dysfunction to non-textbook anatomy. #physicaltherapy #physiotherapist #movementismedicine #sportsmedicine #rehab #magneticresonanceimaging https://www.instagram.com/p/CD_qNLsHjeF/?igshid=z1c1jq2j1wn7

Perfectionism is a term risk averse procrastinators use to justify not starting. Maybe it’s nutrition. Maybe exercise. But let’s talk about business... Perfecting your product or service before it goes to market is impossible because the market is continually changing. Put a perfect product or service out and you are already behind. Put an imperfect product or service in the market and allow the market place to tell you what it needs, how to improve your product, and create long term customer by solving problems for them. Waiting to provide a perfect product is the same as not providing a product at all. Give the market your best right now. Figure out how to improve it as you go. #physicaltherapy #physicaltherapy #cashbasedphysicaltherapy #procrastination #getstartedtoday https://www.instagram.com/p/CD-QbvKnchA/?igshid=1kiny96c9v7l3

Would you take nutrition advice from an obese person? Would you take flying lessons from someone who is not a pilot? Would you take financial advice from a homeless person? Would you take business advice from someone who has no business? The answers to these are obvious. I hope. Yet so many clinicians are providing movement advice that are not participating in any kind of movement and consumers are gladly receiving it. Seek advice from those who are doing it better, been doing it for longer, and actively engaged in what they are giving advice on. Beware of hypocrites, backseat drivers, and those who are just “looking out for your best interest.” #goodadvice #physicaltherapy #physiotherapist #doesyourptevenlift #doesyourptevenrun #doesyourptevencrossfit #movementismedicine (at Plainfield, Indiana) https://www.instagram.com/p/CD94yQCnKmT/?igshid=1fjea6gbv3s68
