the false memory/re-write headcanon is one i know is ultimately harmless and has potential to be explored but i do not partake for the sole reason that it's a headcanon. maybe i'm hypocritical for my hcs in some way but i do not think the memories are replaced. i personally believe having a split second alone during a mission is not gonna become you standing in your backyard, it's just going to be you in a strange place you've never been. however. the thing is. warburton could legit say some wild thing confirming the opposite as canon and i'd still reject it because "erased" is so repetitive in the show
