One of the oft-forgotten sunnan of Rasulullah salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam is to fast on the day of Ashura (i.e. the 10th of Muharram). What makes this day so special?
Ashura was the day in which Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala granted victory to Prophet Musa alayhis-salaam over Fir’aun, so Prophet Musa would fast on that day out of shukr to Allah. One time, Rasulullah ﷺ found Bani Israel fasting on the day of Ashura, so he ﷺ asked: ❛What is this day that you are fasting?❜
They replied: ❛This is a great day in which Allah saved Musa and his people, and He drowned Fir’aun and his people. Musa fasted on it due to gratitude, so we also fast on it.❜
🌺 Rasulullah ﷺ said: ❛We are more deserving and are closer to Musa than you.❜ And thus, he ﷺ fasted on the day of Ashura, and he commanded the Muslims to fast on it as well. 【Sahih al-Bukhari 3397 & Sahih Muslim 1130a】
🌺 Rasulullah ﷺ also encouraged us to fast Ashura AND the day before it (i.e. the 9th of Muharram) to distinguish our ‘ibaadah from the traditions of Bani Israel. He ﷺ said: ❛If I live until next year, I will certainly fast the 9th day of Muharram.❜ [Sahih Muslim 1134a]
🌺 Ibn Abbas radhi Allahu ‘anhu said: ❛I did not see the Prophet ﷺ as eager to fast a day and preferring it over others, except for this day of Ashura, and this month of Ramadan.❜ 【Sahih Muslim 1132】
With so many ahadith encouraging us to fast on Ashura, is there any special reward for fasting that day? Alhamdulillah, yes!
🌺 Rasulullah ﷺ said: ❛Fasting on the day of Ashura is an expiation for the sins of the previous year.❜ [Sahih Muslim 1162b]
So let us revive this sunnah by fasting on the 9th and 10th of Muharram, that we too may earn Allah’s forgiveness. That’s tomorrow (Monday) + Tuesday for us Malaysians. Please check your local Hijri calendar to affirm these dates.
May Allah accept from all of us.

Usia 40 tahun sudah bukan lagi waktunya sibuk main Tik Tok, sibuk upload foto selfie, Hobby nongkrong, nonton drakor, dengerin musik, joged-joded.
Sehingga menjadi pemenyesal kemudian hari yg tiada guna...
Ibrahim al-Nakha’i rahimahullah berkata :
(Ath-Thabaqat al-Kubra VI/277)
Imam Malik rahimahullah berkata :
Imam Ibnul Jauzi rahimahullah berkata:
(Bahrud Dumuu' hal 57)
Abdullah bin Dawud rahimahullah berkata :

Oh Allah! grant me the ability to reflect and ponder on, and to understand whatever my tongue reads from your Qur’an and to go into the depths of its meanings and to recognize its wonders, and to act according to it as long as I live. Indeed You have power over everything.

Istighfar
I was watching a khutba by Omar Suleiman on Istighfar and he was talking about the power of istighfar. When a person sins, a black dot is placed on their heart and when he sincerely repents, not only does that black dot disappear, that place in his heart becomes polished as if he didn’t commit that certain sin in the first place.
One major point I took from this is that istighfar should be a focal point in our daily lives. We should say “astaghfirullah” constantly because not only does it erase sins when you repent sincerely by the will of Allāh, it also gives you clarity and makes you closer to Allāh swt.
The Prophet pbuh was sinless but one habit he had was he continuously engaged in istighfar, not because of sins but because he (pbuh) wanted a connection and clarity with Allāh
Ibn `Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) said: We counted the Prophet (pbuh) saying a hundred times during one single sitting:
Rabb-ighfir lee, wa tub `alayya, innaka Antat-Tawwabur-Raheem!
“Oh Allāh, Forgive me and pardon me. Indeed, You are the Oft-Returning with compassion and Ever Merciful”.
Make a habit of this and even the lightest fog in our hearts will be cleared inshaaAllah!

Time for salah. Time to pray for forgiveness. Time to make Tawbah. Time to pray for my parents. Time to pray for my future marriage. Time to pray for success in both this Dunya and in the Akhira. Time to pray for Jannah. Time to make more sujood. Time to reconnect with Allah SWT.

Where is Allah ‏
Answer: Allah is above the Throne in a manner that befits His Majesty Alone
Evidence from the book of Allah.
The Most Beneficent Istawa (rose over) the Throne (in a manner that befits His Majesty). [20:5]
The one who created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in six Days. Then He Istawa (rose over) the Throne (in a manner that befits His Majesty). [25:59]
Allah is He Who raised the heavens without any pillars that you can see. Then, He Istawa (rose above) the Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). [13:2]

Salaam any advice on how to overcome health anxiety? I have always put my trust in Allah for all things, but for some reason this lockdown I am overthinking about getting ill. I have negative thoughts that only I can control my health which I know is not true.
Jazakhallahair
Well Tawakkul is essential in all aspects of life. It is understandable that certain factors like this pandemic and the lockdowns have affected many of us greatly. We are much more vigilant of our health now than before. Yes, we do not have full control over our health but we have some responsibility for it. To take care of it is sunnah. We should use our worries of our health as a motivation to take care of our well-being. As well as asking and trusting in Allah for his protection. May Allah keep you and us, our loved ones stable in our health and protect us from all evil‎ آمین wa iyyaki, I hope ‎إن شاء الله this has helped.
The Prophet ﷺ said: “There are two blessings which many people do not appreciate: Health and leisure.”
Ayesha (R.A) reported that when any of us fell sick, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would wipe him with his right hand then say: “Adhhib il-ba's, Rabbi l-naas washfi anta al-Shaafi laa shifaa'a illa shifaa'uka shifaa'an laa yughaadir saqaman.”
