FINALLY making an actual post about this guy! This is Azurion the dragon. He's an ~8 foot long puppet controlled entirely by my left arm and hand, including the blinking mechanism! I also made a fake arm, and I think it really adds to the illusion that Azurion is 'real'. The project took roughly 6 months to complete (including planning, slacking, and lots of trial and error), and he was finished just in time for the last 2022 weekend of the Colorado Renaissance Festival. I plan on adding more to him and refining the details quite a bit, but I'm pretty pleased with the current results!

Well! I tried to make a hat. It worked out pretty well, I think.

There are five versions in the zip file:

Adult

Adult, with wider wings, to avoid clipping with poofier hairs

Adult, without the wings, to avoid clipping with pointy ears

Toddler

Each version also has the same 24 swatches, which includes one blank white swatch for the sake of convenience, in case anyone wants to do recolors, personal or otherwise.

Etienne time <3

Etienne is a vampire and a very competent one at that. he owns a manor in the french countryside and has sired many other young vampires in the 600-some-odd years since he was turned. he mingles with high society and is well-known by his peers. if only it was enough!

In life, he was a knight, assigned under an earl or duke or smth of the very same estate he now owns. he was killed in a duel but instead of the embrace of honorable death, he awoke hours later in the forest with his lover Lucius - whom he had thought to be a particularly mysterious servant of the house - crouched over him, new vampire senses screaming. Etienne did not take it well and declared the both of them better dead than monsters. he has regretted those words every single day for the past six hundred years.

After recovering and coming to terms with his new future, he looks for his lover to reconcile and cannot find him. So be it; Etienne sets out to be the best vampire he can be. if he cant find the love of his life he'll make such a name for himself that Lucius will find him instead. he'll prove to everyone he loves being a vampire so much Lucius will know he's forgiven.

(Lucius' preferred name is Hvasshár, and he chooses to drown his heartbreak in bad decisions and casual anthropology)

Unfortunately for everyone, Hvass' sire (and Etienne's grandsire) had a heritable power for mind control - and Etienne's manifests pretty early on. Its a very strong ability and Etienne begins abusing it fast.

years and years and years pass with no sign of Hvass on Etienne's radar, and the kind, chivalrous, benevolent knight Éstiene was warps into a holier-than-thou, selfish, conniving high class vampire. if anything he pines more for his better half now that he sees them as equals among the rabble. (haha)

in the most recent few decades, Etienne has come up with a new plan: to turn a personal battalion of fresh vampires and set them about his task to be his eyes and ears. he has been biting victims and leaving them with lasting mind-control instructions to track down Lucius. he will find this needle in the haystack that is the world.

its...... not good lmao. he's turned upwards of fifty vampires in as many years, zapped em with permanent restlessness, and left them to fend for themselves without so much as a crash course in being a vampire.

anyway. here's hoping maybe he finds his bf soon before he causes more of a problem.

maybe he's just looking in the wrong places.

Made him into a vampire for a friend’s rp setting: a small town in a spooky forest where cryptids and mythological creatures and other critters like that live. It’s a more-or-less safe haven from the mortal world.

Theo’s not exactly there by choice, in fact he hates it because there’s laws that say you can’t just eat the tourists, but he has to stay there because if he set one foot outside he’d be staked immediately

And context for the last bit: friend’s character is another vampire, a florist from the era of the French Revolution and still generally agrees with the whole beheading the decadent nobility thing, Theo is a snooty ex-baron who still calls people ‘peasants’ and quite literally preyed on the lower classes back in his day, they don’t get along (he deserves it)
