Make a timeline of events that got you here

Grade 7- I was a grade 7 school prefect, this is where I realised my leadership skills. Also being a first born forced me to lead the way for me sister.
Grade 11- I selected economics as a subject and immediately fell in love with it beyond my expectations as I always thought that I was a science person.
Grade 12- I was selected as a Learners Representative and later voted into LRC Chairperson. This brought immense pressure on me as it was my finals and then I still had to lead a group and school. However I pulled through and made it. Throughout the year I did a Financial Literacy talk and early in the year our council hosted an inspirational gala dinner whereby we had ex school pupils whereby one of them was Madame Monica Geingos, our First Lady.
During my December holiday I had a job at PwC as an assistant Auditor. This helped me start my CV on a good note.
2017- I am a Queens Young Leader and Assistant concept developer of an Entrepreneurship and Enterprise project and I look forward to many more years of great things.

Reflect on commonwealth and the role that you can play in shaping its future.
The Commonwealth network is a network that not everyone is educated about. However it is quite an important network as most commonwealth countries have young populations thus fact is quite an advantage as the youth can make a huge change in the development of a country through innovation, sustainable development and good governance.
With my passion for Financial Literacy and Venture Capital my role in shaping its future is by educating the youth on Finance and how to be Financially Independent as Economics plays in our daily lives every hour, I therefore find it very important to be educated in this field in order to move forward.

A map of my community and cultural geography
Namibia is a landscape Photographers playground.
Born and raised in Oranjemund a diamond in Namibia. I grew up with both parents and a younger sister. Oranjemund is a town that has about 4000 people; it is a diamond protected area in the extreme southwest of Namibia, on the northern bank of the Orange River mouth at the border to South Africa. I attended a Private school my entire life known as Oranjemund Private School. Upon completing High School I have now moved to the capital city of Namibia, Windhoek (The city of many faces). I am still discovering the city but so long I really love it here due to the amount of opportunities available.
In Namibia is home to 13 ethnic cultural groups with English being the official language. Namibia is home to the world largest population of free-moving cheetahs. Namibia is the second least densely populated county in the world. Namibia was a German colony then captured by South Africa in World War I and then became independent in 1990. With a desert that meets the sea the Sossusvlei Sand Dunes are some of the highest in the world and one of Namibia’s most impressive sights.

QYL Assignment : Leadership

My definition of Leadership:
Leadership is identifying an individual’s strength and allowing them to embrace it in order to be their best selves. I believe that leaders are born and groomed over time. A leader is selfless, inspiring others by being comfortable within themselves and at the same time getting things done.

QYL Assignment: About me

Nyeuvo Amukushu is an aspiring Venture Capitalist from Namibia. I am currently a student working towards a Bachelors degree in Economics at the University of Namibia.
I am also an Assistant Concept Developer at 1 Economy Foundation for the Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development Pillar.
My aspirations for becoming a Venture Capitalist grow from realizing that the gap between small businesses and big businesses (usually multi nationals) is too big and my aim is to bridge the gap. In many cases, young Africans use their own funds to drive activities. Although , this is the kind of commitment that will take Africa forward; small businesses suffer from the myth of "small business". She believes that for operational efficiency rather empower local suppliers &push them to go regional then global rather than get global suppliers and push them local. If we can focus on securing economic opportunities for Africa's youth, we will play a critical in harnessing their power for good.
My vision is to set up a Venture Capital firm to help African seed and early staged entrepreneurs with their business through Funding , Incubation and Enterprise Development by successfully nurturing them and providing access to supply chain opportunities.
I also have a deep interest in Property Investment and Agribusiness.
