BG3 + DA:V

I adore both games. Immensely. Each in their own respectives.

I left BG3 before I finished a playthrough due to life happening and my friends playing multiplayer everyday.

After playing four playthroughs on DA:V and not being able to romance anyone but Lucanis Dellamorte I finally decided to finish a playthrough of BG3 and romance the dork Rizzard of Waterdeep...

....

Only to make my Guardian look like Lucanis as much as I could without any big mods.

These will forever and ever be my fav achievements in a game…because I have zero chill about Lucanis Dellamorte

Ok but seriously, I think its so sweet whenever Spite covers Rook with his wings in the last romance scene

Like, Rook had been missing for WEEKS, Lucanis says he thought he'd never see them again. He's terrified of losing them and will repeatedly say that if he has to kill a god to be with them, he'd do it in a heartbeat!

Spite probably feels this way too. Rook is his favorite, they open doors, he trusts them above all others, they actually like him. Spite wrapping his wings around Rook is like an embrace. A way of showing how much both he and Lucanis missed them, how afraid they are that Rook is going to disappear again.

When he unfurls his wings, he lets them know that he and Lucanis will do anything to keep them safe and won't let anyone or anything hurt them ever again. Not while Rook is under his wings, and not while they're fighting gods

That smile. That look.

This is a man who finally knows he can have it all. He can be a Crow. He can have love. And maybe he can be First Talon. We all know that’s not what he truly wants, but, with Rook’s support, he might be able to embrace the role and bring sweeping reforms to the Crows. Let’s include Teia and Viago in this, too, because with them by his side, anything feels possible.

This is a man who has found family in a group of people he never would have had the opportunity to meet or even approach. He found strength in these friendships. He cared for his companions, not just through his formidable skills, but in the little things: making their favorite foods, offering advice, even financial advice, sharing relationship insights (though he’s always quick to point out he’s clueless), or simply sharing how he sees the world.

This is a man who got to grow as a person outside his very small circle in Treviso and the Crows. Most importantly, he’s begun to heal. He can be Lucanis without all the labels attached to him. He can be an amazing cook, read every romance novel he gets his hands on, hyper-fixate on wyverns, and no longer be just "the Demon of Vyrantium."

This is a man who has accepted that he’s an abomination, possessed by a Spirit of Determination, and has found peace with his demon.

This is a man who can have a relationship, the kind of romance he’s always wanted and longed for, but denied himself for so long. And to his own surprise, he can be a wonderfully supportive partner.

This is a man who can have his coffee and sleep, too. Maker knows he needs a nap, and as long as Rook is holding him as he drifts off, it will be the best sleep he’s ever had in his goddamn life.

Hello welcome to the hell that is my brain laying around not able to sleep with too many ideas but ADHD refusing to let me start them. Help me...

Anyways! I want to draw this scenario (if my dumb brain allows me) and how I wish I could write.

I'm a sloot for angst with happy endings or having proper communication with the good feels that follow.

Going through my third playthrough yes romancing Lucanis again my brain thought on a scenario: The first time Lucanis goes in for a kiss in the pantry room. I had originally brought Lucanis with me at all times. Every outing. As someone with ADHD I deal with Rejection Dysphoria. When he pulls away my Rook (de Riva) would be crushed. Absolutely. Not mad at all or upset with Lucanis in the slightest. It would be more a down spiral of what my Rook thinks she could have done wrong. Did she move to fast? Did she make him uncomfortable? Did she ruin it somehow? Overthinking. Even seeing him would physically hurt her chest. So, for the first time since forming this team she doesn't bring Lucanis with her as one of the party. Lucanis hears Rook is about to head out, gets himself ready, because he always goes with her. Only to walk to the eluvian room and see Rook leaving with Neve and Bellara. Telling everyone bye with a convincing smile and bright demeanor. She can't look at him. She can't... afraid of what she will see. Afraid her eyes would show her inner turmoil and the last thing she wants is to make him feel guilty or hurt him. With a parting wave she steps through the eluvian. Leaving the rest of the team, having no idea what has happened between the too, and Lucanis at the doors just standing there geared up having just assumed he would be at Rook's side like he always got to be.

How would Lucanis handle this? How would my Rook?

BioWare give me more banter. Let me choose how I respond. Hello give me more dialect of my Rook interacting with the team and talking about my Rook's backstory. Why do I have to be everyone's Mom and make them get along but I can't join conversations? Only like three lines talk about how my Rook is also a Crow? I need more banter with Lucanis and Rook about Crow life!

There's just something about Rook and Lucanis reaffirming their support and love for each other throughout the game that makes me so emotional.
