“Whatever.” Her statement lingered for a moment as she rolled her eyes and scoffed, but was quickly followed with a dismissive chuckle. She would’ve liked to uphold her front, but it never lasted long; no matter how hard she’d try, it was just something about him that broke down all of her reserves.

PHOEBE sucked her teeth, her head whipping into ANDREI’S direction at the first sign of his decline — the head shake. “This isn’t good well already. See, this is supposed to be a give and take. I just know who won’t get to taste when I learn a good recipe that’s not burnt fettuccine alfredo,” her eyebrows were knitted together once her jaw dropped and she shook her head in disbelief with the male’s antics. “I can’t believe you have no faith in me, you’re sick!” She kissed her teeth repeatedly with a shake of her head, her smile following not far behind. While his music lane wasn’t something that she was super familiar with prior to meeting him, she made it a priority to educate herself because she wanted to support him to the fullest, and because she felt like he needed that. “Yeah, y’all aren’t too shabby.” She shrugged her shoulders; her response was coy. “And you’re cute, so, I gotta show up for that.”

Once the silence had fallen upon them, the only thing that interrupted it, other than the loud growling of her stomach, was the doorbell ringing. There were a lot of empty moments between the two of them, but for her, it was a comfortable silence. PHOEBE bounced on the balls of her feet as she grew antsy by the exchange of the food at the door before she then made her way over to the couch where they both sat down with the food in front of them. The aroma filling the room cause her the answer impulsively, “Mhmmm, let’s just eat,” because she would typically not be the type to share her food. “Oooo, they look so good too. Where’d you get this from? Some hidden gem?” She eyed the plates as she reached for a fork and started to open up the containers for them to indulge.
