and no i'm not going to talk about natalie being so good and skillful at keeping quiet during a hunt and listening for her surroundings as a direct result of her abusive upbringing, but we can all hold hands while we think about it collectively in silence

“does love transcend severance” case by case man i think it depends. but the ability, the potential for love transcends severance: mark is the same kind of lover as an innie and an outie. when he got into the elevator with gemma i was screaming at the screen for him to explain something—she’s about to meet his innie, he won’t remember her, he doesn’t know how it will all turn out. he knows that his innie is not exactly on his side right now! he might escape with gemma, but he might not!
and instead he chooses to live for the next ten seconds with the woman he loves. no wonder mark s does the same. both marks, faced with the prospect of losing the woman they love, just want a moment more with them.

i mean this in the gentlest way possible: you need to eat vegetables. you need to become comfortable with doing so. i do not care if you are a picky eater because of autism (hi, i used to be this person!), you need to find at least some vegetables you can eat. find a different way to prepare them. chances are you would like a vegetable you hate if you prepared it in a stew or roasted it with seasoning or included it as an ingredient in a recipe. just. please start eating better. potatoes and corn are not sufficient vegetables for a healthy diet.

Seeing readings on social media that Jackie was depressed and it's like, FINALLY, people are realising that. She was fighting for a reason to live before they crashed, she was clinging to a reason (her best friend) and her going outside and dying wasn't because she was too stupid to light a fire. It was a successful suicide attempt after her best friend essentially cut her off with seemingly no recourse - was she being dramatic about it? Sure, teens have fights like that all the time! But depressed people don't tend to really think rationally about situations like that.
It's a very real way to write a depressed person in mid 90s America!

helly showed up down the hallway because she wanted one last look at him. she wasn’t asking him to stay. she’s been the one trying to convince him leave.
helly said that maybe his outie wasn’t lying and that mark might have a real chance at living on the outside. helly reminded him she was an eagan when he said he wanted to live with her. helly convinced him to finish cold harbor when mark said he could just leave it undone and leave gemma trapped below.
she locked milchick in the bathroom and instigated an entire coup to give him time to save gemma.
all she wanted was one last look at the man who gave her life meaning.

The Dylans' conversation: a beautiful affirmation of both of their identities as whole people as well as an acknowledgement of them being intrinsically the same person.
The Marks' conversation: No YOU kill yourself!

When Melissa stabbed Van like “You’re not this kind of person (able to kill someone) but I am” like damn, bitch, I wish you could have figured that out when you attacked Shauna with that stick

Tai losing all sense of personal ambition in the adult timeline in exchange for having her life revolve around being Van's partner, Simone and Sammy being cut from the story with only a handful of throwaway lines and a short, poorly done scene to show for it, Lottie being continously built up as someone of importance only to be unceremoniously killed by Callie and then replaced with Hilary Swank, Travis' death being almost completely shelved when it got too complicated to deal with, even though so much of season one's plot hinged on it, Crystal being killed in the teen timeline only for seemingly nobody to pay her any mind afterward... Travis: *gets a dead lesbian’s memories of her and her best friend crushing on and resenting each other.*
Travis: “Oh good my show is on.”
“Jackie’s thoughts are my favorite.” Okay bud.
