The SS19 collection and it's colors are inspired by hot summers with sun heated landscape, dried flowers and stones: a subdued slate green and eucalyptus, the golden shade of dried chamomile pistils, sunburnt clay. The addition of the grainfield inspired shade dusty yellow adds a fresh contrast to this palette. Complemented by organic chunky knits in store melange and dusty nude.

そのデザインは、可愛らしい動物のイラストが使われ、動物・地球環境保護を願って、毎シーズンちがう動物たちのストーリーになっています。

The Library Between books. This is us: in love with books, the whispering of pages, the stories hidden between the covers. You can recognise us by our dreamy eyes. We live just next to you, but at the same time in a faraway land.
We live now, but also once upon a time, wearing seven-league boots or cloaks of invisibility.

Inspired by the feel of worn book covers, all new stories are sewn in our studio.

Welcome to the Library. Make yourself comfortable in the softness of our fabric. Wool, linen, knitwear, mellow velvet and soft British corduroy – will accompany children’s imagination and craving for stories. You can play hide and seek between pages, or embark a trip to a land beyond the seven seas. Desert horizons, mountain peaks and the depths of the seas await you in the soft colors of subdued turquoise and sandy rose.

A play on classic style and vintage inspirations are just the beginning. e following chapters will be written by the imagination, you just need to unleash it. Your wardrobe may look like it never has before
if you invite the poetry in and let Peter Pan, Pipi Longstocking and Ophelia inspire you. Dive into the story.

Where Earth’s atmosphere ends, outer space begins.

Outer space is where I’d really like to go.

A feeling that most – both child and adult – know.

Wanting to be lost in outer space, lost in love – an unknown place.

Beckoning is exploration without and within, but needed in both are courage, curiosity and cunning.

A feeling of belonging in the starry sky, a light bulb, an astronaut, an airship, nothing to abide by.

Believing in yourself as you bloom and sprout, is dif cult for some –but more dif cult to live without.

Where Earth’s atmosphere ends, outer space begins.

Within this alien space, everything seems possible.

This is where we are drawn to and where our minds wander.

We look up to astronauts and follow them as their courage, curiosity and cunning lead them into space, where love blooms.

When Earth’s classical elements are out to play, we wish to sail through the galactic sea amongst orbiting planets and glowing stars with everything above us and everything underneath.

Like a dark canvas sprinkled with stars, outer space allures.

FROU FROU 18AW “Dancing through silence”

    FROU FROU is a slow fashion house that does not compromise in design, quality and ethical standards. We produce in Cologne ourselves and safeguard a garment that I am extremely proud of.

Contemporary lifestyles, oil paintings, lush nature and green tea inspire my designs – however, perhaps they are influenced more by music than anything else. The three young souls in my house also provide an endless resource of inspiration, on top of 17 years of experience.

A garment engulfs many of our senses, it is far more that just visual. We feel the fabric, take in its scent and hear the sound of its movement. Envisage the rustling susurration of dresses in former times. This is what the word FROU FROU means historically. And why not conjure such traditions?

I adore working with linen, the oldest cultivated plant fabric in Europe. It is a precious material that deserves to be handled with great diligence. It provides ideal natural ventilation and efficient sun protection, much like wool. Linen is robust, dirt-repellent and fabric care is effortless. Making it even more perfect for children’s garments. Linen is also highly recommended for kids with sensitive skin.

On top of the long list of benefits, the cultivation of linen is very kind to our environment. During an average European summer, the flax plant (from which linen is derived) requires no irrigation, and producing the fabric requires much less water and energy than cotton.

The children emerge from the dark of night, barefoot and empty handed, connected only with the natural world and just a lantern to guide them. Dawn brings with it the first rays of light and the children stride on towards new horizons and new dreams.

They lift their heads and stare ahead at the vague but distinguishable line where the sky meets the earth. They scan this unknown horizon full of promise and adventure, of stories yet to be told. They run and jump through this rocky, lunar, light-filled landscape. Their world is free of boundaries and full of possibilities. It is a place they can explore unhindered and where the natural elements guide them; the light and darkness, the wind and the sun their only masters. Every day is a voyage of discovery and a search for new horizons.

It is the tale of children who run wild and barefoot across an empty, barren landscape that seemingly has no limits. Rooted to the land and to nature their imagination runs free. Their gaze is constantly drawn to the ever-changing, infinite horizon that is full of hope and possibility.

In this collection we have used vegetable dyes to reflect the vivid, bright colors of this starkly beautiful landscape. Rusty red, limestone-white, charcoal black and bright blue garments are complemented by striped, checked and printed pieces. Our classic linen and cotton fabrics accompany a new quilted range that provides fresh volumes and crisp outlines. Our soft cream and black snow coats, jackets and wonderful quilted capes keep our little people cozy and snug and free to brave the elements.

Once again we invite you to play with our garments, to mix and match and thus create your own personal look. This collection reflects a natural world full of light and hope and is, as always, a nod to our little people, to the journeys they are already making and the new horizons that still await them.

BEAU LOVES 18AW “ONCE UPON A TIME”

Beau Loves Autumn/Winter collection, "Once Upon a Time", is inspired by Beau's Love of books & reading

- which knows no bounds...

I've lost count of how many he has read or listened to.

I'm not sure he goes anywhere without a book stuffed in his coat pocket or tucked under his arm for safekeeping.

Beau's love for his piano lessons and his daily practice sessions ring in all of our ears before and after school, with him regularly scribbling notes on his music book.

After a long discussion regarding his favourite day and without hesitate he said Sunday... Why? to which he replied, that's easy... we get to start the week again!

The collection includes a mix of fabrics and textures held together with hand drawn all over prints and text.

APOLINA

Apolina was to established with the aim of providing clothing which would not depend on trends but could be kept and handed down to younger siblings and future generations. Setting out to create everyday pieces that are special enough to become woven into childhood memories. Apolina takes reference from traditional crafts of many different cultures but the influences are re-imagined with a modern, casual approach and a distinctive natural-toned colour palette.

The relaxed silhouettes are designed mindfully to ensure children are comfortable and able to play freely in our pieces as well as ensuring an increased wear-time.

Each piece has been produced ethically and with great care in India.

With a focus on highlighting traditional Indian craftsmanship, Apolina works with a family-run Indian manufacturer, who employs equal numbers of women and men (unusual for this industry). Ethical trading and production practices are strictly adhered to and workers are not only paid a fair wage, they are also treated as members of the extended family. Each item is unique due to the hand finishing of the garment. Styles are produced in limited numbers through 'small batch' production.

MOTORETA 18AW ANARCHITECTURE

ABOUT ANARCHITECTURE,  Motoreta’s new Autumn Winter 18|19 collection.

This season we pay homage to the city of New York and the group of artist based in Soho in the 1970s, when downtown Manhattan was de center of the art world. Their work ignored the old boundaries separating art from dance from music from architecture, and instead found fresh ground in the interstices between art and life. Decades after the people and the artist who made impact into the collective memory of New York’s history have gone, artists come to Manhattan in pursuit of their own Soho story, like we all do.

The result is strong prints, abstract graphics and volumens inspired by the «building cuts» of Matta-Clark, the abandonated spaces of the East Village in Manhattan, the music of Laurie Anderson and the coreographies between multicoloured garments of Trisha Brown.

Cristina and the creative minds behind Motoreta have thought about an AW19 season in neat shapes, cozy textured knitted garments and soft fabrics and new silhouettes.

The key pieces of the collection are the dresses, with their clean patterns, detailed with frills, big pockets, and sophisticated collars; but also the coats and knittted garments.  Our pallet: shades of grey, blue, black, yellow, white, stripes, dots and geometries....
