All Team Matches have been sent out!
If you haven't received yours, either in your inbox or spam folder, please contact us as soon as possible!
Now that everyone has been paired up, you are all officially allowed to talk publicly about your works; although we would ask for some moderation.
While we want both Authors and Artists to be able to talk openly about their works on social media, we ask that you limit this to tidbits of writing, small excerpts, concepts, glimpses of your sketches, WIPs, etc. Nothing that gives out in its entirety what you're working on.
The full details and looks of the works should be kept amongst the teams themselves until after the works have been revealed. We want some mystery to remain about the works created for this event until their respective posting day arrives, so please don't post full chapters or completed art pieces.

Hi! I was wondering if there’s an Obikin discord?
I would love to join!
Hi there! While we do have an Obikin Server, ours is entirely focused on the Obikin Reverse Bang 2025 and is only open to event participants. However, there is a public server maintained by the runners of the Topwan Fest (with separate channels for SFW Obikin and Top Anakin/Bottom Obi-Wan as well) that you can find on their blog @topwan-obikin
There's also another, bigger server, but for that one we do not have more information as to how you can join or who can you get in touch with. If anyone knows, please let us know in the replies!

Artists!
Today is your last day to send your check-in! Remember that you have until June 1st 6:59 AM UTC (May 31st 23:59 PDT) to send us all the sketches you want to have in this event!
Find out what time the deadline is for you here:
✨ Artists! ✨
Your First Check-In starts today! Remember that we’re asking for you to submit a sketch with both Anakin and Obi-Wan and a semblance of background that most looks like the finished Art Piece(s). It doesn't have to be the finished art work, though it's okay if it is, but Authors must be able to write a story based on the art piece as it is.
We have sent you all an email where you’ll find the Google Form for your First Check-In. Please check your inbox and spam folder, as it might have ended up there.
If any issues arise, like if you haven’t received the email in the next 48 hours, please send us a DM through the social media of your preference or send us an email and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
Remember that you have until June 1st at 6:59 UTC to submit your check-in. Failure to submit this Check-In will result in penalisation, though extensions can, and will, be granted, in case of emergencies only
✨ Authors, Beta and Cheer Readers, you can still join the event! ✨

We're one week away from your First Check-In!
Are you all ready to begin?
✨Artists✨
We're two weeks away from your First Check-In!
Remember that, for this First Check-In, you have to submit a sketch with both Anakin and Obi-Wan that most looks like the finished art piece(s). It doesn’t have to be the finished piece, but it must be completely sketched and with a semblance of background that gives the general idea of how the final piece will look. Changes will be allowed to be done to the art piece(s) after claims, but the Author must be able to write a fic based on the art as-is.
Along with your Art Piece(s), you must include a list of restrictions on fic content that Authors must adhere to if they decide to claim your Art Piece. The more clear you are with what you don’t want, the better time everyone will have during this event. You may also include a suggested prompt or details you’d like to see paired up with your Art Piece, but always keeping in mind that it is up to the Author if they wish to fulfil the prompt as is or not.

Note
For the reverse bang, there's a space for DNWs, etc. Does what I put there have to be the final list or if I think of something else between now and the writers picking their pieces, can that be edited? Thank you!
Hi there! If there's any changes to your DNWs before Art Claims happen, you can message us about it to update your information. However, we will also ask again during Artists' First Check-In what content Artists do not want attached to their Art Piece, just in case anyone forgot anything or wanted to update their list

✨Author Requirements✨
Just one day until Authors, Beta, and Cheer Readers can join our Reverse Bang!
We're very excited about this new stage of this event, but in the meantime, here is what Authors need to know:
1. Authors will write a fic of at least 5,000 words long based on the Art Piece they’ve claimed after Moderators have made the teams. Authors have three (3) months to write their story and must consider this timeline when making a claim. Please be mindful of your schedule and the writing period we have given so you do not claim something you cannot write in that window of time.
2. Authors can only claim one (1) art piece for this challenge. Authors may pinch-hit for another art piece but only, and only if their first story is completed. Moderators will request proof of completion before assigning a second Art Prompt.
✨ Art Claims are June 7th 18:00 UTC to June 15th 6:59 UTC
3. Authors must respect restrictions specified by the Artist during Art Claims. The fic must be related to the art for which it is written, and it cannot have been already posted elsewhere. Sequels won’t be allowed either, as all stories must be brand new and original.
4. While writing, you may stumble upon a topic that your teammate was not aware of that made them uncomfortable. We ask that you do your best to always communicate with your teammate at all times and reach a compromise if need be so that you both have a good time during this event.
5. Authors won’t demand changes to the art to fit the fic unless your artist has expressly permitted this.
7. Authors will not commission additional art for this challenge, even if your artist permits it. Additionally, Authors are not allowed to illustrate their own fic or ask artistic friends to make art for their fic as a gift, until after the event is over.
For more information about Author Requirements, please check our Tumblr page
Artists can still join our event through here!

With 3 days until Author, Beta Reader, and Cheer Reader sign-ups open for the Obikin Reverse Bang 2025, we thought it was a great day to remind you that Artists can still join through this Sign Up here
If you've joined the Reverse Bang but you haven't heard from us, please check your spam folder, as the email might have ended up there. If you can't find the email anywhere, please contact us so we can send you the information once more
✨ What is a Reverse Bang?
A Reverse Bang is a creative challenge that is the opposite of a Big Bang. Instead of Authors writing their fic and Artists creating art for it, it’s the Artists who first create a piece of artwork. Then, Authors will claim the Art Pieces during an anonymous process and proceed to write a fic based on that artwork and following the guidelines given by the Artist for content they don’t want associated with their Art Work.
Artists can suggest prompts alongside their art piece, but Authors are not obligated to fulfil the suggested prompt, just adhere to the content the Artist stipulated they are uncomfortable with having in the created work.
✨ How does this Reverse Bang work?
After Artist Sign-Ups open, Artists will have a little over a month to submit a sketch that most looks like the finished art piece(s) they will submit during Final Check-In. It doesn’t have to be the finished piece, but it must be completely sketched and with a semblance of background that gives the general idea of how the final art piece will look like. The Authors must be able to write a fic based on the art as-is.
Along with their art, Artists must include a list of restrictions on fic content (eg. no Underage, no MCD, no Rape/Dub-Con, no TopWan, no TopAnakin, etc) that Authors must adhere to when they claim an Art Piece. The more clear Artists are with what they don’t want, the better time everyone will have during this event.
Artist may also include a suggested prompt or details they’d like to see paired up with their Art Piece, but always keeping in mind that it is up to the Author if they wish to fulfil the prompt or not. (For more information check Artists Requirements)
After an anonymous process in which Authors will claim one (1) Art Piece they wish to create a story for, Moderators will partner Authors and Artists.
Once partnered up, teams will collaborate to produce their finished work by their posting date (assigned by the Moderators based on the availability and preference of teams stated in the Posting Poll that will be published on September 6th at 18:00 UTC)
✨ How do claims work?
Once Artists have sent us their first mandatory Check-In, the moderators will share the anonymous art pieces and content restrictions with the Authors, so they can claim which work they want to create a fic for. Each art piece will include at least one finished fic/story.
For more questions you may have, don't forget to check out our Frequently Asked Questions page and remember that you have until April 30th 18:00 UTC to Sign Up as an Artist

Hi, I have a question, I am interested to join as a writer and excited to see what the artists come up with. But I wonder, what if after the sign up and art claim is up, I can't come up with any inspiration or story idea from the arts, is that allowed to not claim and not move on? Would there be any penalty? Thank you.
Hi there!
We understand that inspiration can be a fickle thing, and hopefully that doesn't happen. But if it does, the deadline for authors to drop out, no questions asked is July 27th, right when the First Authors' Check-In closes. That means that, from the moment you sign up until July 27th, you can drop out without penalty or consequence, for whatever reason.
However, past that deadline you can only drop out due to emergencies, so please be mindful of your schedule so no penalties have to be enforced your way
