A Happy 22nd Birthday to Dipper & Mabel!

You can’t really take a selfie with a redwood and expect to capture the scale of the tree, but, it’s the thought that counts!  You can show the scale of the trees by including people in the picture, but the people wind up being very small.  (Thus, a provided detail as well as the full piece!)  I would make a joke about the Pines and pines, but, redwoods are conifers but are *not* actually pines (they’re in the cypress family).

I’ve had redwoods on my mind lately, and of course, they feature prominently in Gravity Falls.  My idea here, though, is that they’re in northern California, hiking around on the trail of some cryptid or ghost or anomaly.  (Actually I know what I meant them to be on the trail of; perhaps I’ll get around to a sequel showing that someday.)

Hi, fellow Fallers.

I'd like to sincerely apologize for not having done anything in celebration of the Stan twins' birthday and 9th anniversary. I'm not doing too well right now, probably won't be for a while. I know there's no excuse for having completely abandoned any acknowledgement of these beautiful characters, show, and their history, but I thought I might try and explain myself. I feel so guilty, and I am so sorry for not having done anything more than wishing the Stans a happy birthday and the show a happy anniversary. Hope the rest of you had more fun than I did today, stay weird!

So, apparently the clip of Dipper singing Disco Girl from the vinyl soundtrack was found through a Fortnite ARG of some sorts? Did anyone else have that on their 2021 bingo card? Here’s a more in depth explanation of what the discovery looked like by the person who found it.

I FEEL EVERY SINGLE EMOTION YOU DO RIGHT NOW, THERE ARE GENUINE TEARS WELLING IN MY EYES. The little strains in his voice?? As he sings to his heart’s content? And then the STUTTERING OVER HIS WORDS AND TINY WHISPERS WHEN STAN COMES IN - SPEAKING OF WHICH, “welp, you’re a child wearing a towel, so I’ll leave” !!!!

I JUST... I NEVER KNEW THIS COMBINATION OF 70′S POP MUSIC PARODY, AWKWARD DIPPER PINES, AND SNARKY GRUNKLE STAN WAS SOMETHING THAT COULD BRIGHTEN MY LIFE UP SO MUCH. THIS IS A GIFT AND WE SHOULD BE ON THE FLOOR BOWING DOWN TO THE GODS THAT HAVE GIVEN IT TO US RIGHT NOW.

I've never tried contributing to one of these "month of" events before, so I wanted to give it a go this time! Here's my contribution to Month of Maybel week 1!

I feel like Mabel would like bubble tea.

(This is kinda dedicated to my awesome mom. I'd forgotten to pick up a book I needed for a big test last week, and she drove me several hours into Stockholm after she got off from work just so I could get it on time. While there, I made her try bubble tea.)

There’s no way Mabel hasn’t noticed Ford’s tattoo at some point. It’s too iconic not to trigger her creative senses/intuition that she definitely has, probably going off when anything bright or sparkly is within a five mile radius.

Happy first day of May! Summer is near, The April showers are gonna soon bring those May flowers, and it’s officially the start of the Month of May-bel! Like Stanuary, this month is dedicated to Mabel. And as we know, Mabel has had a pretty tumultuous relationship with the fandom, and I feel that it’s time we show our favourite pig and sweater loving girl that we do care.

I hosted this event last year too  and, seeing that no one else is doing it again, I’ve taken it upon myself to host the Month of May-bel 2021 too! This year, I asked the community to send me suggestions and this is what we got!

Week 1 is about The Scientist and His Shooting Star. Show Mabel and Ford getting some much needed bonding time!

Week 2 is about Friends. Show Mabel with her friends. Be it Candy and Grenda, Wendy, Soos and/or any other person she met/befriended over the summer.

Week 3 is about SWEATERS! Show Mabel in our favourite sweater of hers, a sweater you’d want to see her in, a cosplay of that and if you’re writing, than maybe tell a story related to her sweaters or such. Finally, for week 4, Like last year and inspired by  the original Mabel Pines Appreciation Week from 2015, it’s your pick. Show Mabel how ever you choose.

You can make fanart, write a story, cosplay, DIY, make an edit, etc. Whatever you choose, be sure to follow the theme of that week and the rules, stay SFW, and of course, have fun. Be sure to tag your post with #MonthOfMaybel2021 so that others can see it (and optionally, tag me too). You can make as many contributions a week as you please. This is not a contest, it’s all for fun, so do the best you can.
