hermitcraft season x
everything keeps going wrong and its hilarious
day 1:
welsknight's power went out five minutes before they started
keralis couldn't join and no one noticed for a bit
xisuma fell in lava and almost died in the first five minutes
mumbo had to do the introduction (and he claims he know the least of what is going on)
gem's game was glitching with falling blocks
ren set up the coop caving only to be the only one to die
impulse (skizz's best friend) killed skizzleman as the first kill (not death) in demise
after that:
grian is obsessed with fishing to get a mending book and can't get one in over 4000 attempts when impulse got one in under 20
mumbo dying to phantoms rather than the complicated trap set up for when he came back from afk
iskall's collaborative base
scar seeing the trap cub set and activating it while laughing about how he wouldn't fall for it (and losing all his resources)
stress dying to a trap made for iskall
Bonus: not really wrong but everyone taking things slow except for doc who had a villager trading hall day 1 and then took off to go be doc and break Minecraft

why do i willingly trigger myself?
you know when a fanfic writer will tag everything so well and even put a warning at the beginning spelling out how this talks about darker issues or even specifically something that will be triggering.... and i know that that is something that will trigger me.... why do i still read it? like, i optionally trigger myself. like this time, i’ll be fine. nope. but i do it over and over again. like a complete dumbass fool.

thank you other people doing research
Like, people who identify as Queer know the word is used like a slur. Trust me, we know.
So when we say “queer is a slur” was started by terfs, maybe use some critical thinking and try to understand what we mean. That is, if you actually care about queer people and the damage terfs do, rather that just screaming “queer is a slur!” and ignoring the actual point.
Terfs did not like that queer was reclaimed. End of. This is a fact. Queer was too broad, too accepting, and embraced all the people they wanted gone. And I know y'all exclusionists feel the same but get pissed when we point it out so you deny it, but sit down and listen for a minute.
Queer was the preferred term for poc. For bisexuals. For trans people. For people with multiple identities. It neatly encapsulated everything, and was a friendly community to those who felt thrown under the bus by mainstream LGBT activism. It was a political and social statement, “you treated my like I was different and weird, and guess what? I am and that’s something to be proud of.”
So the response? “You can’t use that word. Its bad. Its a slur.”
And at the time, a lot of people rolled their eyes. Everyone knew why they didn’t like the word and brushed that off. It was fine.
So they started more subtly. “Just so you know this word is very harmful and is a slur so be careful how you use it :))) in case you didn’t know :)))) its a slur :))) friendly reminder :))) for the sake of other people of course :))))” type shit on every post involving the word, including and especially posts simply mentioning self identification.
Always worded in friendly, concerned ways, like the derailment was meant to be nice and considerate, and not about normalizing their rhetoric.
And what happened because of that was a younger generation of community kids growing up with these statements being thrown at them and absorbed on every. Single. Post. That. Mentionioned. Queer.
The result? That same generation of kids cutting it all short, removing the meant-to-be-palatable niceness, to just say “queer is a slur.”
Exactly how it was originally intended. “Queer is a slur.” People drop on posts where young queer people talk about it being a self identifier that actually fits them. “Its a slur,” they comment, with nothing else, on posts they clearly didn’t read past that word, written by people twice their age who had reclaimed it before they were even born.
Its nasty. Its disgusting. It’s plain old bigotry, whether the people saying know it or not. It is a terf tactic, plain and simple.
And no one wants to deny that it is indeed used as a slur (right along with all the rest of our identities.) No one wants to be insensitive and force it on people who haven’t reclaimed it.
But invading queer people’s posts to spit “queer is a slur” is flat out queerphobic. You do the dirty work of terfs, of cis straight oppressors, by saying in one simple sentence: “its a dirty word, there is no pride in it, you haven’t/can’t reclaim(ed) it.”
And regardless of your actual intentions, when you do this, that is EXACTLY what you are communicating and doing.
“Queer is a slur” is a terf movement. Stop fucking supporting terfs just because you want to pretend like it isn’t.

For anyone who needs happy and positive LGBTQ+ books …
I haven’t even read Wayward Son yet, but I just wanted to rec some things after reading some of the reactions on here. I feel like there are so many great authors out there, whose books don’t get talked about at all or at least not enough and this is in no way a complete list, there are so many more!
Also, an amazing resource for finding more diverse books is lgbtqreads.com, anything in the romance category has a happy end!
YA
Hearstopper by Alice Oseman (so much great rep and really cute webcomic, plus all of her books are amazing, very diverse and even though they deal with some heavier topics they are always hopeful)
Alex in Wonderland and Noah Can’t Even by Simon James Green (so adorable, especially Alex in Wonderland is the perfect feel-good summer read)
Social Intercourse by Greg Howard (this book made me smile so much)
Whatever. and How (not) ask a boy to prom by S.J. Goslee (Really cute, feel-good romance books)
Running With Lions and How to be Remy Cameron by Julian Winters (Very heartwarming and positive)
Openly Straight, Honestly Ben and The Music of What Happens by Bill Konigsberg (his books deal with very interesting and sometimes heavy topics, but they have happy endings)
One Man Guy by Michael Barakva (so sweet, though the sequel sounds a bit :/ so I haven’t read it yet)
How to Repair a Mechanical Heart and A&B by J.C. Lillis (some heavy moments but happy endings)
Simon Vs. the Homosapiens Agenda and Leah On The Off-Beat by Becky Albertelli (popular for a reason)
Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz (a must-read, beautiful writing)
Older Characters
Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuinston (definitely a new fave, so romantic and the alternate universe I want to live in, has nsfw scenes)
Know Not Why by Hannah Johnson (such a comfort read, it’s so adorable and I love all of the characters)
Check Please by Ngozi Ukazu (such a heart-warming webcomic)
Other authors to check out: Mackenzi Lee, L. Philips, Kacen Callender, Caleb Roehrig, Pene Hanson, Jen Wilde

Favourite book?
What do I have here? An excuse to rant and rave (and fangirl a little) about books I love, for an unprecedented amount of time? Sign me up lads.
First thing’s first – I am physically incapable of choosing one favourite book. Rather, I will list several favourites, along with the pile of books on my TBR, categorising by genre (because I am a nerd). Lets do this!
Young Adult Contemporary Fiction
- Looking For Alibrandi, by Melina Marchetta: (A YA Contemporary written by the Aussie queen herself, Melina Marchetta. Following Italian-Australian Josie’s coming of age story as she grapples with family, identity, and home, this novel will forever be a favourite.)
- Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, by Benjamin Alire Saenz: (This is Ari and Dante’s beautiful, lyrically written story of love, family and identity. It is one that I have found myself rereading time and time again.)
- I’ll Give You The Sun, by Jandy Nelson: (We follow the perspectives of twins Noah and Jude over two different timelines. It is not only about their journeys of self-discovery, but also about the family tragedy that tore them apart.)
Young Adult/New Adult/Adult Fantasy
- The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue, by Mackenzi Lee: (A YA Fantasy Historical Fiction full of romance, magic, adventure, pirates, witty banter, near death situations and 18th Century fabulousness!)
- Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom (duology), by Leigh Bardugo: (All I can say is that in my eyes, this duology is the epitome of top-notch YA Fantasy. If I continue to write about these books I will go on for pages … So, enough said – read it!)
- The Raven Cycle series, by Maggie Stiefvater: (I devoured this four-book series in three days, and here’s why: magic, psychic powers, ancient Welsh kings, curses, ghosts, demons, nearly-dying, actually dying, Wealthy Private School Boys, Not-So-Wealthy Private School Boys, A Badass Not-Psychic Girl Who Dislikes Private School Boys But Who Ends Up Becoming Besties With Said Private School Boys.)
- The Diviners, by Libba Bray: (A ghost murder mystery following a cast of psychic characters set in 1920s New York City … it is a big yes from me.)
Adult Fiction
- Pachinko, by Min Jin Lee: (A historical family saga through four generations of a Korean family who seek a better home, watch the home they left become divided and unrecognisable, live through the struggle of war and the political turmoil of Japanese colonisation. This novel is both a fictional and true story. It was fascinating and heart wrenching and powerful – definitely one that stands out as a favourite.)
- The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, by Annie Barrows and Mary Ann Shaffer: (Exploring both the hardships of war and the power of literature, this novel follows an English author as she finds herself post WW2 on the Guernsey Channel Islands amidst the one-of-a-kind Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society – aka the coolest book club in town.)
- The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, by Taylor Jenkins Reid: (An intricate, enthralling, eye-opening novel with constant cliff-hangers that led to me sacrificing many hours of sleep for answers.)
Children and Middle Grade Fiction
- The Magic Faraway Tree series, by Enid Blyton
- The Naughtiest Girl series, by Enid Blyton
- The Geronimo Stilton series!, by “Geronimo Stilton”
- The Spiderwick Chronicles, by Holly Black
- The Percy Jackson series, by Rick Riordan
- The Harry Potter series, by J K Rowling
+ every Judy Blume book under the sun
Non-Fiction + Classics
- Educated , by Tara Westover (Memoir)
- Dubliners, by James Joyce (Classic, collection of short stories)
- The Bloody Chamber, by Angela Carter (Classic, collection of short stories)
Books on my (ever-growing) TBR [My To Be Read list]
- Girls of Paper and Fire, by Natasha Ngan (Fantasy)
- The Ten Thousand Doors of January, by Alix E Harrow (Fantasy)
- Vicious, by V E Schwab (Fantasy)
- The Night Circus, by Erin Morgenstern (Fantasy)
- Ninth House, by Leigh Bardugo (Fantasy)
- Where the Crawdads Sing, by Delia Owens (Fiction)
- The Place on Dalhousie, by Melina Marchetta (Fiction)
- Circe, by Madeline Miller (Historical Fantasy Fiction)
- Midnight’s Children, by Salman Rushdie (Historical Magical Realism Fiction)
- Year of Wonders, by Geraldine Brooks (Historical Fiction)
- All the Light We Cannot See, by Anthony Doerr (Historical Fiction)
- The Map of Salt and Stars, by Zeyn Joukhadar (Historical Fiction)
- The Lost Girls of Paris, by Pam Jenoff (Historical Fiction)
- Low Life: Lures and Snares of Old New York, by Luc Sante (Historical Non-Fiction)
- Franklin and Eleanor, by Hazel Rowley (Historical Non-Fiction)
- Emergency S*x and Other Desperate Measures: True Stories from a War Zone, by Heidi Postlewait, Kenneth Cain, Andrew Thomson (Non-Fiction)
- Our Man: Richard Holbrooke and the End of the American Century, by George Packer (Non-Fiction)
- The Alchemist, by Paulo Coelho (Classic)
I hope some of you find this helpful or interesting! Be sure to share your own favourite reads / any book recommendations as well! If you want to keep up to date with what I’m reading, follow me here:

Texas boy
OKAy. so the one time i went to a bar, my friend and i were dancing, and this guy came up to me and asked me to dance. (thanks for asking dude) in my terrible, awkward asexual way, i said i didn't know how to dance, so he grabbed my hands and decided to show me (i think he thought i was flirting).
He told me several things about himself. He told me immediately that he was from texas (complete with accent), that he was only where i was because his friend had gotten back from a military deployment a month ago, and i think something about bull riding. He continued to try to show me how to two step.
he did not tell me his name.
I went into a bathroom a little after that and was laughing about this with my friend when a drunk girl wearing cowboy boots told me that bull riders were always just playing with you to get some, etc. and that she knew because she had experience.
clubs/bars are like a separate universe where everyone revolves around you and your thoughts shape your reality.
