AITA for attempting to assassinate a foreign head of state?

I (25F human), am a Republic citizen currently in the country of Skysheer following a lead on fixing a complex magical situation my friend (25M robot?, we'll call him M) has found himself in. In order to do this, I applied for and got a job as a palace seamstress in order to gain easier access to the library at the Spearsong palace - the Spearsongs being the ruling family of the city I'm in. I am actually a great seamstress and do my work well, I've just been sneaking into the library on the side to research a way to help my friend M.

After a few days of working for the Spearsong heir (235NB elf, we'll call them A), I decided to end my night with some research and snuck into the library. Only, when M wandered off to find a book for me, I suddenly felt a cloth over my mouth and nose, and that's the last thing I remembered.

I woke up tied to a chair in an unfamiliar location, no M in sight. I managed to break out, set a fire (don't worry about it), and took a guard hostage (don't worry about him either, he's fine). I demanded to talk to the leadership of whoever had kidnapped me and ended up face to face with a pair of scruffy-looking locals (I and T, 189F and 466M elves, respectively). They told me that they were the leaders of the Salis Legion of the People, and that they had kidnapped me so they could put their disguised agent in my place to get close enough to assassinate the Archduke Spearsong, ruler of Salis.

They explained to me that the serfs of Salis have experienced many hardships (no child labor regulations, price gouging, feudalism, etc) and after many attempts at a peaceful solution, they had decided that assassinating the Archduke was the only way. They also apparently have a plan for keeping the city's population safe, which involves holding the rest of the nobility hostage until the Queen of Skysheer either agrees to their demands or doesn't, in which case they will declare independence and form their own city state.

By this point, they were making some good sense to me. The people of Skysheer are treated poorly. I grew up on a Republic debtor farm, so I understand where they're coming from. I and T promised that if I helped them (I'm a skilled rune scribe on top of my lovely embroidery work), they would get M out of the palace before the assassination is carried out by a spy disguised as me. I ended up agreeing to their terms.

Anyways, am I the asshole? They said no nobles would be hurt, but I think we're robbing a weapons depot tomorrow, so who knows if that's going to hold. The Archduke doesn't seem personally like a bad guy, and neither does his heir (A is pretty cool, honestly), but he has been permitting his people to starve in the street. This isn't even my country, but maybe if we succeed in this, the nobles down in my homeland will be scared into straightening up their act?

I don't know, what do you guys think? Is this the only way?

AITA for sort of abandoning my baby sister?

I, 17m, had a rough home life growing up. My parents had a certain idea of what they wanted me to be but it just wasn't me. We fought a lot but I stayed for my baby sister, who we'll call L, currently 14f.

One day, my dad and I got into a fight. It was really bad, and ended when I ran away at 10 years old. My sister was 7.

Since then, I met my best friends and partners in crime, K (17m) and V (18f). We're super close and do everything together. I also changed my appearance a lot, I dyed my hair and generally experienced puberty.

Recently, we were on a quest (long story, dont ask) and accidentally ran into my baby sister. She doesn't know it's me. This is where I might be the asshole.

She's happy. My parents had her follow the same path they wanted me to, and she's great at it.

I told K and V I didn't want to tell her, but they think I should. We fought about it yesterday and now we're all on edge and I hate it!

AITA for looking at my friend's sketchbook while he was away? -🌌

Hi!! I (15tm) and my new friend (15tm I think) have known each other for a little bit and he's always sketching, and I have a bit of a crush on him (don't judge me please I swear it's not my fault he's just kinda cute and really sweet and the only person who I know for a fact is alive). He's also like, super depressed and it's pretty obvious and I'm worried about him cause he keeps staring at the trees and barely ever talks to me except about plants (I think he's also autistic?) And I'm just really worried about him I swear

So basically he left to go forage for plants and he left his sketchbook and I was really curious so I started looking in it and like he draws plants and sometimes tells me about them (I love him so much I'm in love with him I love him hahaha /jk /jk /jk couldn't be me haha) and he also drew me? Like a lot!! And I MADE THE DECISUIN to not read anything he wrote cause I keep journals and I know written word is personal but I really wanted to and he drew me when I was sleeping and I look really good from his point of veiw like ahh?? Does he like me back?m??? Is he even gay?????? Help me

But yeah there were also really detailed drawings of corpses in there plus a lot of scribbling and illegible words?? I'm just a little worried and now I feel super guilty about it what do I do aita?m?

AITA for reading my friend's journal? -🌲

I (15m, debateably) was sitting with my arguably possibly friend (15m) who's been acting weird for a bit (he used to be so bubbly and optimistic but all of today he seems kinda off? I don't think I did anything??) And then put one of his journals right next to/in the fire between us, I don't think he noticed that I saw. He writes in them every night, so it's weird that he put this one in the fire.

I don't trust him (he's a random person in the middle of a fucking apocalypse and he's just. Really nice? Idk what's wrong with him or if he's trying to murder me) so I took the journal without him noticing and read it. In my defense, I thought he maybe was trying to kill me and his journal had a plan for that or something.

So, the journal looked old and had a lot of blood on it, and all his writing is messy but it looks like he killed someone?? Who might have been his brother? I don't know what to think and he's back to being chirpy and sweet but like. This journal has a lot of emotion and fear and anger in it and I think he murdered someone?

What should I do? AITA?
