i guess you could call this a hiatus warning?

hey guys!! sorry i haven’t been here in a while, I know you’re all just DYING to get your daily mills titanic fix and i know i’ve been kinda shitty with it (whoops) but uh, lets just say I kinda need a break from Rose. I love her, I do, and my muse isn’t gone, it’s more or less I just have had a lot of shit happen to me in my personal life and i realized that, uh, being here is kinda one of the culprits. I’ve been on this blog and i’ve been trying to balance my time better. i know i���m probably gonna lose a lot of followers to this but honestly? i can’t be worried about people who are gonna get upset I can’t be doing this certain hobby for now. 

does this mean i’m coming back? yes. i love rose too much and i’m not going to give up my throne here that easily. i’ll be contactable through sky.pe (roesyposey) and you can see me on tid a lot more. 

honestly guys, you’ve been nothing but wonderful to be and i couldn’t be more grateful, but i’ve done the dumb thing and let myself get run over by the semi that is reality.

So, I know you're on hiatus on this blog, but I just got through watching titanic for the millionth time, and closer to the end, Cal is seen on the Carpathia looking for something. Originally, I assumed he was looking for Rose to see if she had survived and if there was chance that she'd come with him, but could it have been that he was looking for her only to see if she still had the heart of the ocean and to get it back? I'd love to know what you think! Sorry for such a long message.

i think this is a motive that was kinda forever in the dark, considering the extent he acted on in the ship’s final moments. in my personal opinion, cal truly did love rose in a way that wasn’t exactly healthy for her in almost any way. however, that being said, the diamond was important to him as well – but not as much as she was. being married to rose promised wealth, safety, security, and social standing – not to mention a part of him actually might have cared for her, to the point he was willing to place an elaborate scheme to secure that no one else can take her from him. 

to add to my theory, there’s actually a part in the script (as found online, don’t fully trust me), where instead of being silent and never interacting, there’s actually a conversation where rose gets to be all extra:

Cal ignores him and goes amongst this wrecked group, looking under shawlsand blankets at one bleak face after another.Rose is sipping hot tea. Her eyes focus on him as he approaches her. Hebarely recognizes her. She looks like a refugee, her matted hair hanging inher eyes.ROSEYes, I lived. How awkward for you.                                    CALRose... your mother and I have been looking for you--She holds up her hand, stopping him. ROSEPlease don't. Don't talk. Just listen. We will make a deal, since that issomething you understand. From this moment you do not exist for me, nor Ifor you. You shall not see me again. And you will not attempt to find me.In return I will keep my silence. Your actions last night need never cometo light, and you will get to keep the honor you have carefully purchased.         She fixes him with a glare as cold and hard as the ice which changed theirlives.ROSEIs this in any way unclear?CAL (after a long beat)What do I tell your mother?ROSETell her that her daughter died with the Titanic.          She stands, turning to the rail. Dismissing him. We see Cal stricken withemotion.CALYou're precious to me, Rose.ROSEJewels are precious. Goodbye, Mr. Hockley.           We see that in his way, the only way he knows, he does truly love her.After a moment, he turns and walks away.

you can see why i enjoy some of the script being taken out but also miss a lot of those parts. but you really see there is this super ignored & unrequited bond between them and that he does love her, just not in the way she wants, and not in the way i think anyone wants.
