so! these two are best friends! okay so. steve just moved back to va beach a couple of months ago. how long ago did tony’s gf die? could it have been in the time steve was gone? in which case, steve might not have actually ~seen tony since it happened (well in the time steve was gone. i’m sure he’s seen tony in the two months he’s been back). so tony and steve might both be different people by now because they each have i-lost-someone-important baggage and maybe that’s brought them closer?

i also think that steve might offer to let tony stay over a lot/has possibly even offered to let tony move in so he doesn’t have to stay with his parents? i don’t think he’s necessarily trying to force tony to get his life back on track but i think he definitely offers lots of support. maybe tony did the same for him when his dad died a couple years ago?? thoughts, dearie??

OKAY BUT I LOVE THIS AND KATE THEY’RE GOING TO KILL ME. so. that being said. let’s talk about their friendship. steve just moved back a couple of months ago after being away for two years. did pippa grow up in va beach? or aren’t the eastwoods from new york? so how long have they been in va beach??? because if they just came back too then i could see this being a little reunion for steve and pippa?? and maybe they’re kind ~restarting their friendship??

but, anyway, re: pippa wanting something more. i honestly don’t think steve has ever stopped and thought about her as more than just a friend. i think he’s always been so torn between leslie and becca that he’s never really considered anyone else?? and he’s also never considered the fact that he can’t spend his whole life being torn between leslie and becca. he’s either going to eventually have to pick one or they’re both going to find someone else.

and i think that’s the kind of thing that really needs to be pointed out to him??? because i really doubt he’d see that on his own. but that also might not be the kind of thing he would talk about with pippa? i honestly don’t know if he realizes that he’s not super subtle about his feelings and pippa knows that he likes both of them? so maybe that’s a potential conversation they could have later?

anyway, I LOVE THAT PIPPA ORDERS A LOT OF PIZZAS WHEN HE’S WORKING. he’s probably like “wow i didn’t realized you loved pizza that much. or that you even ate pizza. i thought you didn’t?” but he is definitely still glad to see her! and honestly when she does come in, he probably asks her if she wants to do something later. so i could see that being a potential reason that she keeps coming back??? because he makes plans with her when he sees her, ahahaha. steve is basically flirty with everyone and it’s a problem *facepalm*

Plus, it’s weird for her, too, y’know??? I think part of Becca wishes she could tell Seth about it, b/c he’s her best friend and she wants to tell him everything, but yeah if he gets all protective ++ it’s strange for her to talk to a guy she likes about other guys???? Also, I think that Becca ends up either dating guys who are kinda assholes and really only want the benefits oR guys who are way too clingy/needy and basically she’s only with them for a hot second and then she’s done, but ultimately none of the guys she’s ever dated are really good enough for her either??? And I think it’s pretty obvious to pretty much everyone eXCEPT for Becca and tbh I think that part of is settling for them b/c the guys who do like her (aka seth) doesn’t like her back and I think that she really wants to get over Seth b/c she knows that he’s always gonna be in love with Rachel and never look at her that way and for the sake of their relationship, it would just be wayyy better for her to be interested in someone else.

ANYWAY, enough seth/becca haha I LOVE THE IDEA THAT STEVE/BECCA START HOOKING UP AT A PARTY THO!!!!! I feel like becca would internally be like “what are we” but ofc irl she doesn’t say anything at all and tries to be ~cool~ about it, haha. but I can see her lowkey freaking out b/c steve is a realllly good friend and she likes him, but she wouldn’t want to just have a fling w/ him, b/c she doesn’t wanna ruin their friendship but part of her thinks that maybe she and steve would be good together and yeah, she’d be very conflicted about her emotions re: whatever is going on, but yeah … wouldn’t say a word of this to steve b/c she’s TERRIBLE when it comes to communicating her feelings, especially in relationships haha.

But I love that they’ve been talking all of this time!!!!! And yeah, Becca would def be a little taken back by serious!steve at first, but she’d also get it??? but I think that she’d also try to pull out the old steve again, too, y’know?

hmmm. do you think seth has ever met any of becca’s exs? or ever seen her with anyone she’s dated? because i kind of get the feeling he hasn’t. i think he thinks of becca like his sisters and kind of glosses over the fact that they have love lives too because that concept is weird for him? but with becca, i don’t think he’s ever really stopped to think about why. i think in the back of his mind he’s always thought it would be seth and becca forever. and he’s never really considered the possibility that she will eventually have a relationship and have her own life and it might not always include him.

so for that, i think steve and becca having a thing and seth seeing it would be GREAT for seth. and it would definitely give him the opportunity to realize that he does have feelings for her.

okay so i’ll probably text you about this later and we can plot out all the seth/steve/becca pieces. but what if steve and becca start ~kind of dating? and steve lives in seth’s building so that would be double awkward. but idk how you feel about becca potentially moving in with seth but that could be TRIPLE AWKWARD. (basically someone just open a hole in the ground to swallow seth bc he’s gonna need it).

but i think at some point in there, steve might have a little crisis. because he likes becca and this feels right but he also doesn’t want it to ruin their friendship??? AND he also still has feelings for leslie and wants to explore that/wants to make sure that if he does actually start things with becca he’s going to be all in and not still hung up on leslie (and i think that works vice versa too. if he starts something with leslie, he wants to make sure he doesn’t still have feelings for becca.)

so honestly i think they should either be at a bar or a party and end up accidentally making out and then start ~kind of dating???

oh also. i did rethink steve a little bit and i think he’s been in town for about two months. and maybe he’s seen becca once or twice in that time or maybe they haven’t seen each other yet?? maybe their schedules haven’t really aligned yet? but he’s also friends with gabby and i think he might be ~slowly coming back to his old self and maybe has moments where he’s not as serious???

but i think talking to becca does help and he’s slowly starting to be a person again and is getting to himself. and so i think that’s another reason why becca is really ~good for him. she definitely grounds him and helps him be happier.

yes! i definitely think they do. i think steve and seth were probably pretty close friends when they worked together and now that they live in the same building maybe they’re a little closer? i can see steve being a person that seth spends a lot of time with because they’re both ~unattached and live alone. so, anyway, that was the long way of saying i could definitely see natalie seeing steve whenever she goes to seth’s apartment? and i think steve likes all of the connors so these two probably get along pretty well???

Sooo, Abby and I have been talking about Leslie, Tony and Steve forming a kind of Dead Loved Ones Club and maybe spending time with each other because they all know loss?? (And drinking together, haha) So maybe that is also a thing for these two??? Because, wow. Definitely agree with all of these. I think Steve would’ve really appreciated Tony letting him back in and been really happy about that because you need all the support you can get, you know?

Anyway, Steve left for about two years or so and he’s only been back for a couple of months (.... I think. wOW I NEED TO WORK ON TIMELINES) and I don’t think these two really seem like the type who would’ve kept in touch while Steve was gone. (Do you get that vibe from them too??) So maybe they haven’t seen each other since Steve has been back?? I could see that reunion being fun though.

And yeah!! I see Steve having run with the, like, ~bad kids though. Not really being a jock. But I could seriously see him having been in Tony’s crowd?? So maybe that was a thing? But yes. Totally think they should’ve met in high school have have been friends since.

Oooh yes! I actually had forgotten that Steve’s dad had died! And I think that while the circumstances were, obviously, v different, I can see Tony sorta letting Steve back in a little? Like he knows that he’s probs dealing with grief, too, and isn’t ~as distant as he once was? ALSO, so Steve moved away from VA Beach for a little bit, yeah? How long do you think he’s been back/do you think he and Tony kept up with each other during the time he was gone? 

And that sounds great! Maybe they met in school sometime and were just bffs ever since?!?

Oh I know that feeling!!!! I’m doing ad design for the summer (after doing it for the entire school year as well) and people are such a headache. So def using roleplaying as an escape tooo!!!! (Is everything alright with you though?? Do you need lots of virtual hugs??)

irONY. (Though that mix looks awesome!!!!) But truth. They totally would qualify. And actually, I could see these two and Tony (any other peeps in VA Beach with dead family/loved ones??) going out once a month with a bottle of tequila and just watching the tide roll in and talking about the people they’ve lost. So maybe they really do have some type of ~unofficial a dead family member’s club??

Oh I think that’s actually pretty close to Steve’s timeline as well. He could’ve gone to college but ~lazy and then his Dad died so he started working at Dough Boys (actually maybe a little before he graduated?? I need to work on his timeline but depending on when his Dad died, he might’ve needed the money while he was still in high school and that could’ve contributed to his not super great grades/no motivation). So they have probably known each other a lot of years.

BUT I LOVE THAT IDEA TOO!!! That should totally have bonded them and made then actual friends. Which is probably also what lead to Steve’s feelings for Leslie. But I can definitely see them being friends outside of Dough Boys and maybe going to movies and things. oR CARNIVALS. I dunno, I can just picture these two playing those little arcade games, haha. i lOVE THIS IDEA SO MUCH.

Oh question, though. Do you think Leslie would’ve still kept in contact with Steve while he was living with his mom? Because I could see that going either way. He was gone for about two years. I could see them talking on the phone every once in a while or maybe talking a lot at first and then not so much anymore as time went on?? Though I do feel like they just picked up right where they left off when Steve returned. Thoughts?

Tbh, I’m not even sure Seth would know why he’s being dumb about it??? I think he actually does have feelings for Becca but he’s never really thought about it before?? And it’s never really come up since he’s never seen her with anyone. But I think that jealously is going to be there when he finally does and he’s going to just act on it and now really stop to think about why he’s jealous and if he even has any right to be jealous?? So that leads me to an idea. What if Steve and Becca up at a party together or something and end up off kissing in a corner or something like that and then they can have that moment of “okay what is going on here?!?!!” but also maybe Seth sees it?? So double duty plotting, haha.

And I def think Steve has still been talking to Becca this whole time. So I think they’ve probably just had a mobile relationship for the last two years. And they should totally meet up and catch up on things and yeah. See how they’ve each changed and how weird this is going to be now, haha. But still will be sO GLAD that he had Becca to talk to while his dad was sick and dying. And I think that will actually affect their relationship a lot because she’s always been there for him and he’ll appreciate that. And he would probably tell her that, tbh. So Becca probably meeting SuperSerious!Steve for the first time, haha.
