*CONTENTMENT OF THE HEART*
➖➖➖
*Dhikr of Allah* ﷻ
➖➖➖
➖➖➖
Allah ﷻ says in the Qur'an
*Those who believed, and whose hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allah*.
Meaning, *their hearts find comfort on the side of Allah, become tranquil when He is remembered and pleased to have Him as their Protector and Supporter.*
*Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.*
and surely, He is worthy of it.
*Those who have believed and done righteous deeds - a good state is theirs and a good return.*
[13:28-29]
_
*Do you feel sad, aggrieved, restless, anxious, angry?*
*Unable to shake these emotions?*
*Does it hinder your daily life?*
*If so, then ask yourself.*
*Are my intentions towards Allah ﷻ correct?*
*Do I do my obligations?*
*Do I do any extra Nawaafil?*
*Do I seek knowledge?*
_
*Because this Ayah of Qur'an, provides you with a clear understanding of the problem and also the solution simultaneously. Restlessness, sadness, anxiety etc. All come from the deficiency in our Dhikr of Allah ﷻ.*
_
*While the cure for the same problem is to increase Dhikr of Allah* ﷻ.
*We often find that we have some sort of deficiency in our Ibadah.*
*Laziness, neglect, a routine act rather than an act of worship etc.*
*And we do not make an attempt to improve it, this makes our hearts hard and makes it easier for shaytaan to corrupt us.*
_
As Prophet ﷺ said *"There is a piece of flesh in the body which when it is sound, the whole body is sound. And when it is corrupt, the whole body is corrupt"*
[Sahih Bukhari 52]
Ya'ani said; *he is referring to the heart.*
*We will only feel content when we submit to Allah ﷻ, because whenever we have to sacrifice and no matter the hardship we will remember Jannah is waiting and so is Allah's pleasure.*
*What greater thing could you find than that?*
_
Ya Ibn Adam! *Good actions and remembering Allah's Blessings on you create contentment in the heart.*
*So strive towards it.*
_
May Allah ﷻ make us righteous and grant us Jannah.

The Wind Is Not Cursed
From Abu Hurairah that the Prophet [ﷺ] said:
«الرِّيحُ مِنْ رُوحِ اللَّهِ تَأْتِي بِالرَّحْمَةِ ، وَتَأْتِي بِالْعَذَابِ ، فَلَا تَسُبُّوهَا ، سَلُوا اللَّهَ خَيْرَهَا ، وَاسْتَعِيذُوا بِاللَّهِ مِنْ شَرِّهَا.»
❝The Wind is from the mercy of Allaah for His worshippers, sometimes it comes with mercy and sometimes it comes with punishment. So if you see it do not curse it, ask Allaah for the good of it and seek refuge with Allaah from its evil.❞
[Collected In Silsilah Saheehah, (No. 2756) | Kalimah Tayyibah, (Page: 135) | Translated By Abbas Abu Yahya Miraath al-Anbiyya]
-
From Ubay bin Ka’ab [رضي الله عنه] said that the Messenger of Allaah [ﷺ] said:
❝Do not curse the wind, if you see something that you dislike of the wind then say: ‘O Allaah indeed we ask of You for the good from this wind and the good which is in it and the good with which You have commanded it with. We seek refuge with You from the evil from this wind and the evil which is in it and the evil with which You have commanded it with.❞
[Collected By Tirmidhi | He Said It Is Hasan Saheeh | Albaani Authenticated It In Silsilah Saheehah, (No. 2756) | Translated By Abbas Abu Yahya Miraath al-Anbiyya]
-
From Ibn Abbas [رضي الله عنه] that a man cursed the wind in front of the Prophet [ﷺ] so the Prophet [ﷺ] said:
«لاَ تَلْعَنِ الرِّيحَ فَإِنَّهَا مَأْمُورَةٌ، وَإِنَّهُ مَنْ لَعَنَ شَيْئًا لَيْسَ لَهُ بِأَهْلٍ رَجَعَتِ اللَّعْنَةُ عَلَيْهِ»
❝Do not curse the wind since indeed it is commanded and indeed if anyone curses something which does not deserve to be cursed then that curse comes back on himself.❞
[Collected By Tirmidhi | Authenticated By Albaani In Saheehah, (No. 528) | Translated By Abbas Abu Yahya Miraath al-Anbiyya]
-
Imam ash-Shafi’aee said:
«لا ينبغي شتم الريح فإنها خلق مطيع لله وجند من جنوده يجعلها الله رحمة إذا شاء ونقمة إذا شاء.»
❝It is not befitting to curse the wind since it is a creation which obeys Allaah and a soldier from His soldiers, Allaah places it as mercy if He wills and punishment if He wills.❞
[Majmoo Sharh al-Muhdab, (5/92) | Translated By Abbas Abu Yahya Miraath al-Anbiyya]
-
Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen said:
❝This negation of cursing the wind is a prohibition. This is because cursing the wind is cursing the One who created it and sent it. Rain fall is not ascribed to the winds or to the weather or the atmosphere, rather these matters of control of the wind are ascribed to Allaah Alone.❞
[Majmoo Fatawa Wa Rasail Ibn Uthaymeen, (10/276) | Translated By Abbas Abu Yahya Miraath al-Anbiyya]
What To Say If A Windy Storm Occurs
From Salmah bin al-Akwa’ that if the wind was intense and violent the Messenger would say:
«اللَّهُمَّ لَقَحًا لَا عَقِيمًا»
❝O Allaah make this wind bring clouds with rain and not a drought.❞
[Collected By Bukhari In al-Adab al-Mufrad, Tabarani, Ibn as-Sunni, al-Hakim And Albaani Declared It Hasan In Saheehah, (No. 2058) | Translated By Abbas Abu Yahya Miraath al-Anbiyya]
-
From Uqbah bin Aamir [رضي الله عنه] who said:
❝While I was travelling with the Messenger of Allaah [ﷺ] between al-Jouhfah and al-Abwa [two places on the western side of Saudi Arabia] when all of a sudden we were completely covered by a wind and extreme darkness. The Messenger of Allaah [ﷺ] began seeking refuge from it by reciting:
‏﴿قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ‏﴾
«Say: I seek refuge with [Allaah] the Lord of the daybreak» [Falaq]
And
«Say: I seek refuge with [Allaah] the Lord of mankind» [Nas]
And he said:
‘O Uqbah, seek refuge with these two Soorahs, since no one sought refuge with the like of these two Soorahs.’
Uqbah said: I heard him lead the prayer reciting these two Soorahs.❞

What is Envy? How to Recognize It?
Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Salih al-‘Uthaymeen (rahimahullah) said:
Envy is a burning coal in the heart (from satan’s stirring) and Allah’s refuge is sought.
[Sharh Riyaadh us-Saliheen, 6/249]
What Do You Do When You Notice Satan Stirring Envy Within You?
Shaykh Muhammad bin Salih al-'Uthaymin (rahimahullah) said:
‎When you see yourself disliking that Allah blesses other than you with knowledge, wealth, good character, good health or the likes of that (i.e., blessings), (then you) know/recognize that you have within you destructive jealousy/envy.
(Then you must hate for it to be within yourself) and try to eradicate it.
[Sharh Buloogh al-Mar’am, 15/200]
Why Must You Not Envy?
I have never envied anyone over anything: If a person is going to be in the Fire, how could I envy him over some worldly matter when he is destined for the Fire?! And if he is going to Paradise, how could I be envious of a man of Paradise with whom Allah is pleased?!
[Muhammed ibn Sireen (Rahimahullah), Abu Bakr al-Daynoori (Rahimahullah), al-Mujalasah wa Jawaahir al-‘Ilm, 2931]
It Was the First Evil That Caused Satan to Incur Allah’s Curse and Be Expelled:
iblis said: “I was cursed because of my envy, and became a stoned (accursed) devil.”
[Ibn Abee ad-Dunya (rahimahullah) in Maka’d al-Shaytaan, 65/44]
It Was The First Sin Upon Earth With Which Satan Incited the Sons of Adam
Hasad (destructive envy) was the first sin by which Allah the Exalted was disobeyed in the heavens, as iblis envied Adam.
It was the first sin by which Allah was disobeyed on earth, as the son of Adam killed his brother.
[Ibn Uyainah (rahimahullah), al-Mujaalasah wa Jawaahir al-‘Ilm, 667]
In Reality. You Love All Your Muslim Brothers, So Know That Envy is From the Whispers of Satan (Not You) Unless You Act Upon It
The righteous friend does not envy his brothers for what he sees of the signs of blessings that Allah has bestowed on them; rather he (heartfully) rejoices in that and praises Allah for whatever he sees of blessings that Allah has granted to them, as he would praise Him for blessings bestowed upon himself.
Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning):
Or do they envy people for what Allah has given them of His bounty? - an-Nisaa’ 4:54
The righteous friend deals with his brothers honourably, honestly and sincerely.
Abu Sālih (rahimahullāh) said:
The believer deals with you honourably, and guides you to what is best for you in religious and worldly terms, whereas the hypocrite deals with you through flattery and encourages you to do that which you desire (even if it is wrong and not good for you).
The fortunate one whom Allah protects is the one who differentiates between the two.
[Aadaab as-Suhbah, pg. 55 | al-Islām su’āl al-Jawāb, 138390]
THE SOUND HEART
Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah) said,
"And the sound heart is the one which is secure from
• shirk,
• hatred,
• jealousy,
• envy,
• covetousness,
• pride,
• love of the world and
• leadership.
So it is safe from every harmful thing which distances it from Allaah and it is safe from every doubt that contradicts His information (i.e., Quran).
It is safe from every desire that opposes His command and from every wish that competes (repels) what He intends (from His servants), and it is also safe from everything that cuts it off from Allaah.
So this sound and safe heart is in a paradise in this world and in a paradise in the barzakh and in a paradise on the Day of Resurrection.
The heart's safety and soundness cannot be perfected, absolutely, until it is secure from five things:
• From shirk which nullifies tawheed
• From innovation which opposes the Sunnah
• From a desire/lust that opposes the command (of Allaah)
• From heedlessness that contradicts remembrance (of Him)
• From a desire that nullifies purity and sincerity (in intent and purpose)

TAWAKKUL IN ALLAH ﷻ
➖➖➖
Allah ﷻ is Sufficient
➖➖➖
Tawakkul in Allah ﷻ!
Reliance and trust in Allah ﷻ!
Allah ﷻ loves those who have Tawaqqul upon him and rely on him.
As Allah ﷻ says:
Indeed, Allah loves those who rely [upon Him].
[3:159]
_
Who could stand against you if Allah ﷻ is with you?
Who could stand with you if Allah ﷻ is against you?
Allah ﷻ is with the believers, the patient believers, the trusting believers!
Because when everyone in this Dunya lets you down, the one who is there to sustain you is the Sustainer, the one who provides for you is the provider, the one who knows whats best for you, the most wise!
C
So look in the Mushaf sitting on your shelf, look at the story of Yusuf عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ and inspire yourselves by reading how Allah ﷻ trialed him, but yet he never faltered in his Tawakkul and Sabr.
Look in the books of Seerah and see how Allah ﷻ sufficed the muslims during all hardships, look at how Allah ﷻ made them victorious!
_
Once you rely on Allah ﷻ, Allah would make a way out for you.
Allah ﷻ says:
And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out.
[65:2]
_
Wallahi all you need to do is turn to Allah ﷻ and ask!
Allah ﷻ does not turn away the slave who asks with humility and sincerity!
Then say الحمد الله for whatever happens as it is the Qadr of Allah ﷻ.
Oh ibn Adam! Nobody can suffice you apart from Allah ﷻ.
Oh ibn Adam! Ask Allah ﷻ and Allah ﷻ alone and he will provide a path for you!
Oh Ibn Adam! Ask as much as you want, because asking does not harm your affairs!
May Allah ﷻ guide us and make us among the righteous who enter Jannatul Firdous.

There is no benefit in being sad:
Ibnul-Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah said: Al-Huzn (الحزن) sadness has not come within the Qur'ān except being prohibited or negated.
As for it being a prohibition it is like His, Exalted be He, statement:
*And do not be weak nor be sad* (Āli 'Imrān 3:139)
And His statement:
*And do not grieve over them* (An-Nahl 16:111)
And his statement:
*Do not be sad, for indeed Allāh is with us.* (At-Tawbah 9:40)
As for the negation it is like His statement:
*No sadness will be upon them nor will they grieve* (Al-Baqarah 2:38)
The subtle reasoning behind this is that sadness is something which should not be traversed upon and there is no benefit in it for the heart. The most beloved thing to Shaytān is that he causes the servant to be sad in order that he may cut him off in his journey and cause him to stop in his path.

The Prophets were Fathers of Daughters
– Ibnul-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah
💎💎💎💎
Ibnul-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah رحمه الله [751 AH] said; “Allah ﷻ has revealed in regards to the right of women
فَإِنْ كَرِهْتُمُوهُنَّ فَعَسَى أَنْ تَكْرَهُوا شَيْئًا وَيَجْعَلُ اللهُ فِيهِ خَيْرًا كَثِيراً “If you dislike them, it may be that you dislike a thing and Allah brings through it a great deal of good.” [Surah an-Nisā 4:19]
And just like daughters, a person may find much good in them in this life and the next. It is quite repulsive that a man should hate that which pleases Allah ﷻ, and to hate a blessing that is bestowed upon him. It was mentioned that Ṣāliḥ ibn Aḥmad said; ‘Whenever my father [Imām Aḥmad] had a daughter born to him, he would say: the Prophets were the fathers of daughters, and in regarding the daughters there has come [in the narrations a reward] that is known.’ Yaʿqūb ibn Bukhtān said; ‘Seven daughters were born to me, and every time I had a daughter born to me I would go to Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal and he would say to me; ‘Yaʿqūb! The Prophets were fathers of daughters..’ and his speech would do away with my worry.'”

In the last part of surah Aal-e-'Imran, Allah describes the people of understanding by saying:
﴿الَّذِينَ يَذْكُرُونَ اللَّهَ قِيَامًا وَقُعُودًا وَعَلَىٰ جُنُوبِهِمْ وَيَتَفَكَّرُونَ فِي خَلْقِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ رَبَّنَا مَا خَلَقْتَ هَٰذَا بَاطِلًا سُبْحَانَكَ فَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ﴾
"Those who
remember Allah (dhikr)
while standing,
sitting, and
on their sides,
and who reflect upon the creation of the heavens and the earth,
saying (in du’a):
“O our Lord, You did not create all this for nothing! Exalted are You! So protect us from the punishment of the fire!" [3:191]
In his tafsir, Imam al-Baghawi (rahimahullah) wrote:
[قال ابن عون : الفكرة تذهب الغفلة وتحدث للقلب الخشية كما يحدث الماء للزرع النبات]
Ibn 'Awn (rahimahullah) said:
Reflection drives heedlessness away and brings about reverential fear to one's heart in the same way that water brings about growth to a plant.
[Tafsir al-Baghawi (rahimahullah), 2/152]

.
Regarding seeking refuge in Allah from four affairs after the final tashahhud: from the punishment of the Fire, from the punishment of the grave, from the trials of life and death, and from the evil of the trial of the Dajjal.
The scholars differed in this matter upon two opinions: Is it an obligation or a recommendation? The majority of the scholars are upon the opinion it is a recommendation (mustahhab). The opinion it is an obligation is strong due to the Prophet (صلَّى الله عليه وسلَّم ) having said it as a command, and because these (four) affairs are tremendous (in severity), if a person is not protected from them he is in great danger.
Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (رحمه الله) mentioned that it is obligatory to seek refuge from these four matters as per one of the interpretations in the school of Imam Ahmad (رحمه الله)، and indeed some of the companions of Imam Ahmad (رحمه الله) took the position to seek refuge from these four matters.
Many people are lax with seeking refuge from these four, you find them making the tasleem (final Salam) after completing the initial tashahhud supplications, despite the fact that the Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم commanded this , and the default with a command is obligation. The danger is that these four are so severe, they are deserving of a person to seek refuge in Allah from them in every prayer.
1) From the punishment of Jahannam', i.e. the Hellfire, and it is named as such, because it is 'jahma' which means darkness- and we seek refuge in Allah. It is all darkness and gloom, so we ask Allah for safety. Allah said:
When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of it's breath as it blazes forth. It almost bursts up with fury.
[Al-Mulk 67:7-8]
2) 'And from the punishment of the grave.' There is a continuous punishment for the disbelievers in the grave, and there is a punishment that may be continous or intermittent for the sinners [amongst] the believers.
3) 'And from the trials of life and death.' The trial means the test, and it can be with goodness (tested with blessings) and it can be with evil, as Allah the Most High said:
وَنَبْلُوكُم بِٱلشَّرِّ وَٱلْخَيْرِ فِتْنَةًۖ وَإِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ
"and We shall make a trial of you with evil and with good."
[Al-Anbiya 21:35]
Allah may test a servant with evil, with calamities, illness in his body, in his relatives, also with poverty, and other than that from the calamities to test him so will he remain patient or not? And possibly the test may be with good to test whether he will be grateful or ungrateful.
▫️ The trial of life can be with good and with evil; it is with evil to test if the person will be patient or not. And it is with good to test if the person will be grateful or ungrateful. A person in reality is therfore between two affairs: either goodness or evil, both are a test.
A person may be tested in his religion, we seek refuge in Allah.
▫️ Death has two trials: one before and a second one after death.
The trial before death is that when the time of death comes upon a person, Shaytaan (the Devil) comes to him and presents doubts to him, to the extent that he may exit from the religion at the point of death, hence it is important we always ask Allah for a good ending.
The trial that occurs after death is that a person is tested in the grave, so two angels como to him and ask him: "Who is your Lord, what is your religion and who is your Prophet?" As for the believer, he will say. "Allah is my Lord, Islam is my religion and my Prophet is Muhammad."
As for the non Muslim, like the doubtful or the disbeliever, then he says when he is asked "Hāh, hāh (huh? huh?) I don't know. I heard the people saying something, so I said it", because Imān did not enter into his heart and refuge is sought with Allah.
4) 'And from the test of the anti-Christ the Dajjal".
The Dajjal is a man whom Allah, the Most High sends at the end of time who claims to be a Lord. Allah creates affairs to occur via him that will be from the greatest of tests and trials..

THE FLUCTUATIONS OF TIME ARE TESTS FROM ALLĀH
Glory is to Allāh Who subjects His slaves (to trials) in order to test their patience and expose their true nature in times of hardship!
Angels prostrated to Adam ('alayhi as-salām), while shortly thereafter he was expelled from Paradise (jannah).
Nūh ('alayhi as-salām) was beaten until fainted, while shortly thereafter he was rescued in the ark, and his enemies were destroyed.
Ibrāhīm ('alayhi as-salām) was thrown in the fire, and then came out to safety (salāma).
Isma'eel ('alayhi as-salām) lied down in surrender to be slaughtered, then he came to safety, and his praise remained.
Ya'qūb ('alayhi as-salām) lost his eyesight after losing his son, and then he regained it after reuniting with his son.
Mūsā ('alayhi as-salām) was a shepherd, and then was elevated to a rank where he spoke to Allāh (taqlīm).
Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) was an orphan and faced many hardships from his enemies, and from financial difficulties; yet he persevered and was firm as a mountain. After his objective was fulfilled and when he conquered Makkah, the Angel of death came to him and took his soul while going through the pangs of death.
Whoever observes the sea of life, knows how its waves should be received and know how to be patient while dealing the changing days, will not panic when calamity (bilā') strikes. And will not become overly happy when good times (rikhā') arrive immediately.

ALLAH ﷻ IS WATCHING YOU
➖➖➖
Are You Not Ashamed?
➖➖➖
Know that Allah ﷻ knows your hidden affairs, and your secrets and what is in your heart. No secret is hidden. Allah ﷻ is with you while you are prostrating, and knows what you are thinking whilst you prostrate.
Allah ﷻ doesn't only look at the one who prays, rather He ﷻ also looks at the prayer of the one who prays when he prays it.
Allah ﷻ says:
Successful are those who are believers.
Those who in their Salah are those who are humble.
[23:1-2]
He didn't just say
"Those who pray"
Allah ﷻ looks at the prayer of the one who prays! And not only just the Salah,
But what is on the inside of the Salah, what is at the heart of the Salah.
So show respect and manners towards Allah ﷻ when you're alone. Because indeed there is no cover between you and Allah ﷻ that covers you. Allah ﷻ is always with you.
As a poet once said :
اذا ماخلوت الدهر يوما فلاتقل
When you are alone with time for a day, then don't say
I am alone, but say I am being watched
Allah ﷻ is Ar Raqeeb (The one who observes)!
Allah ﷻ is Al Haseeb (The bringer to account)!
Allah ﷻ is the one who is Qareeb (the Close)!
Allah ﷻ is the Al Mujeeb (The one who responds)
_
Allah ﷻ knows everything! The state of our Salah, when we pray! The content in our phones, even with its passcodes!
_
Allah ﷻ knows!
So are we not shy and ashamed before Allah ﷻ?
_
Does this not compel us to constantly seek forgiveness?
_
Allah ﷻ knows the black ant on a black rock, in a wide desert, in a black night, and yet, we think we can outsmart Allah ﷻ?
We think we can conceal from Allah ﷻ?
_
Then what will become of us, when we are raised naked before Allah ﷻ and judged for our Deeds, with our records and the testimonies of the limbs, The Qur'an and the Angels? Where will we hide them?
_
We will not be able to hide! So it makes sense to make our private affairs like our public affairs!
_
May Allah ﷻ make us abong obedient and faithful slaves.

The Paradise On Earth For Those Who Believe
No doubt! Verily, the Auliyâ’ of Allâh [i.e. those who believe in the Oneness of Allâh and fear Allâh much (abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which he has forbidden), and love Allâh much (perform all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained)], no fear shall come upon them nor shall they grieve.
Those who believed (in the Oneness of Allâh - Islāmic Monotheism), and used to fear Allâh much (by abstaining from evil deeds and sins and by doing righteous deeds).
For them are glad tidings, in the life of the present world (i.e. through a righteous dream seen by the person himself or shown to others), and in the Hereafter. No change can there be in the Words of Allāh. This is indeed the supreme success.
Ibn Al-Qayyim Al-Jawziyya رحمه الله said:
“So the sincere believer lives the most pleasant life, has the most relaxed mind frame, the most expanded chest and the most joyful heart.
This is the paradise of the worldly life afforded before the one in the afterlife.
The Prophet said:
"If you pass by the gardens of paradise, sit in them."
The Companions asked:
"What are the gardens of Paradise?"
He replied:
"The gatherings of knowledge [remembrance]."'
He also said in this regard:
"Between my home and pulpit is a garden from the gardens of Paradise." Likewise, when the Prophet was asked about his wisal [an extended and continuous type of fasting especially for the Prophet], he responded: "I am not like you.
I spend the night while my Lord provides me with food and drink."
Here, he informs that whatever provisions he gains whilst in this state are equivalent to tangible food and drink, and that it is something exclusive to him. If he withholds from food and drink, he is compensated with something to replace it and suffice,as has been said:
She had some memories that preoccupy her - from drink and distract her from food
She gets a light from your face that she gains light from — and a direction and guidance from your speech
If she complains from the hardship of life, she evokes — the feeling when you met and relives the meeting”

With Those Whom You Love
Ibn Jarīr recorded that Sa ‘īd bin Jubayr said:
"An Ansārī man came to the Messenger of Allah صلي علي وسلم while feeling sad.
The Prophet said to him:
“Why do I see you sad?”
He said:
“O Allāh’s Prophet! I was contemplating about something”.
The Prophet said: “What is it?”
The Ansārī said:
“We come to you day and night, looking at your face and sitting by you.
Tomorrow, you will be raised with the Prophets, and we will not be able to see you?”
The Prophet did not say anything
(stayed quiet)but later Jibril came down to him with this Ayah,
And whoso obey Allāh and the Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), then they will be in the company of those on whom Allâh has bestowed His Grace, of the Prophets, the Siddiqûn (those followers of the Prophets who were first and foremost to believe in them, like Abu Bakr As-Siddîq (رضي الله عنه), the martyrs, and the righteous. And how excellent these companions are!

THE GREATEST AFFLICTION
➖➖➖
The Death of Prophet ﷺ
➖➖➖
After the passing away of Prophet ﷺ, Bilal رضي الله عنه stood intending to do the Adhaan, and when he reached the words:
أشهد أن محمدًا رسولُ الله
“I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah”
He wept, and all the people wept! He wasn’t able to finish the Adhaan!
He said “So I sought permission from Abu Bakr that he relieve me from calling the Adhaan, because I am unable to call the Adhaan, when the Imaam has passed away ﷺ."
And the people wept, and Madinah became dull.
_
Wallahi!
The Passing Away of Prophet ﷺ is more calamitous to any one person of this Ummah than any of his personal struggles!
_
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“If one of you is afflicted with a calamity, then let him remember his calamity by me (i.e., by my death); for indeed, it is the greatest of calamities.”
[Sunan Ibn Majah]
_
What do you know of his death? His final days and moments, an emotional period of the Seerah, it will make you weep.
_
If this doesn’t make you weep, reflect!
That, where is our love for Muhammad ﷺ?
_
Is it mere lip service?!
Where is the Sunnah in your lives? Where is the remembrance of his Seerah in your lives? Where is the frequency of his salutation and blessings on your tongues?
_
How can you love one you don’t know? And how could you hope to follow the one you don’t recognise?
_
Don’t pay mere lip service to the second part of the Shahadah!
_
Substantiate it!
You love Muhammad ﷺ?
Wake up for Fajr!
Pray your Salah!
Recite the Qur’an!
Wear the Hijaab!
Grow the beard!
Seek knowledge!
_
As Allah ﷻ says in the Qur'an:
قُل إِن كُنتُم تُحِبُّونَ اللهَ فَاتَّبِعُوني
Say (Muhammad): if you love Allah, then follow me
Allah will love you
[3:31]
_
And when Bilal رضي الله عنه was in his own final moments,
His wife exclaimed
Oh what a Calamity!
So he رضي الله عنه replied
Oh what delightfulness!
Tomorrow we shall meet the beloved ones! Muhammad and his companions!
_
May Allah ﷻ join us with him on Qiyamah and grant us the blessing of drinking Al Kawthar from his blessed hands.
آمين

A SUMMARIZED DESCRIPTION OF THE PRAYER, FASTING, NIGHT PRAYER & ITI'KAAF OF THE PROPHET (ﷺ)
➖➖➖
EPISODE 2️⃣ - Description of the Prayer of the Prophet (ﷺ)
➖➖➖
- Beginning The Prayer
➖➖➖
He begins by saying “Allaahu Akbar” (Tabaraani with a saheeh isnaad) whilst raising the hands up to the shoulders or the ear lobes (Abu Dawood 1/62/2 ; Ibn Khuzaimah 64/1) and extending the fingers. It has not been authentically proven from the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ to face the (palms of the) hands towards the Qiblah whilst doing this.
➖➖➖
- The Qiyam (Standing)
➖➖➖
The Qiyam is a pillar in the obligatory prayers and a Sunnah in the optional prayers. The sick and the weak who cannot pray while standing can pray while sitting and if they can’t do even that, then they can pray lying on their side
[Al-Baqarah 2:239; Bukhari 1117; Bukhari 1119; Bukhari 1118; Bukhari 1116]
And it's discouraged to use a stick or lean on a wall to aid them in prayer (Bukhari 1150).
There is no authentic evidence indicating where the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) would look in his prayer. The Qiyam should be done in an upright posture, without joining the feet, as doing so is contradictory to the Sunnah. If the prayer is prolonged a person may alternate between leaning on either (foot).
[Bukhari 751; Ahmad 17800]
➖➖➖
- The Opening Supplication And The Recitation Of The Prayer
➖➖➖
Beginning the prayer with an opening Dua is a Sunnah. It is a Sunnah to vary the opening supplications that have been confirmed from the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) from time to time.
[Bukhari, 711; Muslim, 598]
Thereafter, a person should ask Allaah for refuge from the cursed shaytaan by reciting:
أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ
“I seek refuge with Allaah from Shaitân (Satan), the outcast (the cursed one).”
[Abu Dawood 775]
Then he says:
“In the Name of Allaah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.”
[Bukhari 710; Muslim 399]
This dua should be recited silently (Ahmad 12868).
The Prophet (ﷺ) used to place his right hand over the back of his left hand, wrist, and forearm, and place them on his chest.
[an-Nasaa’i 88; Abu Dawood 726; and an-Nasaa’i 889; Ibn Khuzaimah 1/54/2 declared saheeh by Ibn Hibbaan 485]
Thereafter, he is to recite Surah Fatiha (the opening surah of the Qur’an) slowly, verse by verse.
[Bukhari, 714]
A person should recite audibly in the obligatory units of the Fajr prayer and the first two obligatory units of Maghrib and Isha prayers. At the end of Surah Fatiha, both the Imam and congregation should say “Aameen” loudly.
[Bukhari 738; Muslim 618]
The most correct scholarly opinion regarding Fatiha recitation is that it is obligatory to recite it when praying alone and it is obligatory upon the Imam and those whom he is leading both in prayers where Qur'an is to be recited out loud and when it is to be recited silently.
[Bukhari 714; See also Fataawa al-Shaykh Ibn Baaz, vol. 11, p. 221]
After the recitation of Surah Fatiha, any portion of the Qur'an which is found to be easy may be recited. In the Fajr prayer, a person should recite from the Mufassal surahs, which are the Surahs between Surah Qaf and Surah Naas.
[Abu Dawood 1396; Ibn Maajah 1345; Ibn Khuzaimah 1/69/1; Irwaa' 345; Ibn Khuzaimah 1/76/1; Ibn Abi Shaibah 12/176/1]
But he may sometimes recite more than that as the Prophet (ﷺ) did. He (ﷺ) used to recite surah ar-Room (30:60) and sometimes surah Yaa Sin (36:83) or as-Sajdah (32:30) on Friday.
[Nasaa'I; Bazzaar with a good isnaad; Ahmad with a saheeh isnaad]
For the Maghrib prayers he would recite from the small length Surahs or the medium length Surahs and in the rest (of the Prayers) he recites from the medium length Surahs. It is disliked to lengthen the Isha prayer and it is prescribed to shorten the recitation whilst travelling.
[Bukhari 738; Muslim 396; Al Mujtaba 983; an-Nasaa’i 972]
To be continued…

THE BLESSING IN AFFLICTION
➖➖➖
SEEK HELP FROM ALLAH
➖➖➖
You felt it's not easy to move on because:
▪️You lost a loved one?
▪️Your job?
▪️Your properties?
Or maybe, you feel you've lost everything!
No! Do not despair in the Mercy of Allah (ﷻ) for this is a chance to win His pleasure.
Allah says,
And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient
(2:155)
Somewhere else,
Do the people think that they will be left to say, "We believe" and they will not be tried? But We have certainly tried those before them, and Allaah will surely make evident those who are truthful, and He will surely make evident the liars.
(29:2-3)
---
Many before you were tested. The Prophets of Allah (عليه السلام) were tested and were successful because of their patience.
💠 Ibrahim (عليه السلام) was thrown into the fire.
💠 Yunus (عليه السلام) was swallowed by a whale.
💠 Yaqub ( عليه السلام) lost his eyesight.
💠 Ayyub ( عليه السلام) was tested with his health.
💠 Muhammad (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ) was an orphan who also lost his children at their tender ages.
They were all successful because of their sincere trust in Allah (ﷻ) and patience.
--
It was narrated from Mus'ab bin Sa'd (رضي الله عنه) that his father, Sa'd bin Abu Waqqas (رضي الله عنه), said:
"I said: "O Messenger of Allah, which people are most severely tested?' He said: "The Prophets, then the next best and the next best. A person is tested according to his religious commitment. If he is steadfast in his religious commitment, he will be tested more severely, and if he is frail in his religious commitment, his test will be according to his commitment. Trials will continue to afflict a person until they leave him walking on the earth with no sin on him.'"
(Sunan Ibn Majah 4023)
---
The Patient and their Reward
In continuation of Ayah 155 (above) from Surah al-Baqarah, Allaah (ﷻ) says:
(Those) Who, when disaster strikes them, say, "Indeed we belong to Allaah, and indeed to Him we will return." Those are the ones upon whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy. And it is those who are the [rightly] guided.
(2:156-157)
That is, when they are touched with afflictions, they do not speak ill of their Lord nor seek help from other than Him, their reward is blessing from their Lord, and He rewards them beyond what has been taken from them.
What to do in Periods of Afflictions
Allah (ﷻ) says,
O you who have believed, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allah is with the patient.
(2:153)
---
And how Merciful is Allah (ﷻ), He promises not once but twice that:.
For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease. Indeed, with hardship [will be] ease.
(94:5-6)
With Allah, the soul finds comfort and the sweetness of eeman.
May Allah (ﷻ) grant us true patience.

🌙 Ramadān Reminders #12: Concern About The Hereafter Is Light In The Heart
Ja’far ibn Sulaimān [May Allāh have mercy on him] said,
“Concern about the world is a darkness in the heart, and concern about the Hereafter is a light in the heart.”
See Az-Zuhd li-Ibn Abī Dunyā (543).
Reflections:
⁃ Our goals in this life must be for the benefit of the hereafter.
- See this world through the lenses of the hereafter. Don’t allow this world to break you, every trial is temporary.
- Dont allow the luxuries of this world to deceive you, no one has ever found peace in materialistic things.
- The more we strive and focus on the hereafter the more insignificant the difficulties of this world seem.
- This worldly treasures will never satisfy us, so dont be so preoccupied with it or make it your sole purpose of living.
- ‎"Verily, Allāh only gave you the dunya so that you use it to seek the hereafter, and He did not give it to you so that you would incline towards it." ['Uthmān bin 'Affān - Al-Bidāyah wa-Nihāyah [7/241]
- O People who take pleasure in a life that will vanish, falling in love with a faded shadow is sheer stupidity! - ‎[Purification of the Soul - Ibn Qayyim | Pg. 147].
