I’m so weirded out by how everyone in Death Stranding who works for Bridges is codenamed after their trauma. “Deadman” is a synthetic body with no soul (at least in the physical sense). “Heartman” has a heart condition and has to defibrillate himself every half hour in between wandering purgatory looking for his dead family. “Mama” is a failed surrogate for her sister and has the ghost of her stillborn baby still attached to her.

Like imagine if your employer made you present yourself with a code name like this.

“Hi welcome to Outback Steakhouse, I’m Sevendifferentfosterhomesman and I’ll be taking care of you today.”
