I got my brain all fuzzy over some drawn men again so let's go over one of my favorite boys, Conner.

WARNING/S: strong language (sometimes), personal opinions and headcanon, mild spoilers, me slowly going crazy, I didn't reread it so enjoy some raw thoughts.

There are two versions of Conner Kent (or Kon-El). (not exactly but the two I like the most, so idc, sue me for just saying there's two.) There is"Young Justice" version of Conner Kent and there is Conner Kent from 90s Comics, but then the rebirh came out and his outfit was slightly changed, but who cares. But those two are still nothing alike.

Let's started with their lore, then go to design and end with some character explaining.

First of all, Conner Kent from 90s rebirth comics. He was the first. So for starters. Conner was a clone made in lab from DNA of Lex Luthor and Clark Kent. (idk, sounds like a great idea for some gay story, maybe I will write one, ngl.) He was basically created in lab to replace Superman, after he died. Which he technically did.

Conner generally looks more... Challenging in the way, his outfit is basically screaming that he doesn't give a fuck that everyone knows he's a Superboy. He is also kind of egocentric in comics, but he's cute so it's okay.

And I'm about to go crazy here since from now on I will saying shit out of my own head, so. Buckle up.

Generally, I feel like Conner would act as if he doesn't care he's a clone, but on the inside. Oh, he's going crazy, just slowly. He can basically feel the pressure of it and at the same time he finds the way out in being himself while also being always pressured in being someone who he was created to replace, yet Conner can't, he isn't Superman.

Then, let's go over new design which was used in "Young Justice". Conner now looks a lot more... Generic I guess?

First of all, he was found, he wasn't let out on his own. And Conner was created as a project of Luthor. He's pretty complex character. And now compared to his previous design, he got anger management issues! Which he kind of gets under control in later seasons. But still, he is deeply unhappy with being a clone, since he isn't even a full Kryptonian! (poor baby, I wanna kiss him so bad. Okay, sorry.)

The design... Isn't my favorite... Is it more practical? Yes, shirts and jeans aren't that hard to find. But it also kind of shows his character in some way. He isn't trying to be a Superman, he's Superboy. Also Conner hated all that tight wear, since I think like it would feel as if he wants to be more like Superman, which he doesn't want. (or maybe I'm just tweaking here, idk.)

And character. Oh my God. At first, pretty simple. Boy with trauma about being a clone. But later on we get more light on what is going on in Conner's mind, which makes him a little more likeable.

I love them both, so much. But, at the same time. They are so different, yet the same fucking character. (A few more minutes and I will go and write some gay stuff with those two fighting over male!reader, because I'm going crazy already.)

Also why does liking Conner (YJ version) feels like cheating on Conner (90s rebirth version)?
