Guess who finally finished playing Horizon Zero Dawn :D Super late to the party, but it’s never too late to draw Aloy’s face, I tell myself.

Grumbles, because she can never be quick enough to give one back.

bolts upright from what was seemingly a nice nap. ' aloy is never seen 'cause she only lurks in red reed. her hair belnds in! '
“I’m clearly never seen. It’s taken you that long to notice.” She paused the curved blade at the end of an arrow shaft in-progress, squinting over him.
Fortunate that there was an abundance of the color in all seasons of the land, or hunting wouldn’t have been so well in her favor.

Her shoulders dropped as the tension was relieved, if only momentarily. Slowly, and with casual movements Aloy put a bit of space between them. Easier to gauge the beast better, and perhaps duck away from the snap of a maw filled with teeth.
“Hardlight. Technologically engineered, hardnessed light in the chainmail. If I understand it right. Hard to penetrate. Not... great to hide in, obviously.”
Indeed, it was illuminated by the fissures of light on the outside of the braided metal chains. Bright enough to lighten their surroundings more than the trickle of true light from beyond, and send a mischievous glint into the eyes of the Freljordian.
“All yours. I have more. Slagshine glass. I don’t have use for it.”
“Food is a acceptable gift. But treasures…now that is a fine offering!”

💏
— On a scar
“Looks like it was deep.”
The Seeker’s fingers dipped along a raised line of skin, not so easily viewed amidst the fluff of the entity’s fur. A thin discoloration that reminded her of the very fine line of a blade. Telling its age was improbable, as many of Aloy’s were still pink after years, sometimes itching and pestering.
She weaved her fingers amidst the fur of the beast’s back before she leaned forward, pressing her lips to the old injury.
“That’s a gift of fortune for a warrior’s mark. So I’m told.”
She had never been one for superstition, but she knew well it benefited some.

—because [yours] is
She blinked, tensed, but did not move. The enclosing proximity between them had gone completely unnoticed, as she found herself more than eager to indulge in the conversation.
Perhaps it was the way the night air felt, the mass of the moon, a mere impulse - Aloy leaned into the kiss testingly. She did best in a cautious mindset, but caution was hard to grip around the carelessness of a quickly growing friend. Aloy had long since learned to appreciate her freedoms.
She let the tension drip from her shoulders, and smiled against his lips. The goatee tickled.

💏 :9
—in a rush of adrenaline
Aloy’s blood sang in her ears as she heaved herself over the edge of the world. Down, far below was a shallow creek that looked no bigger than a fine thin string of blue. In her many years of scaling sheer cliffs, it had been the first time she had been so close to an early death. Her arms trembled as she braced herself where she knelt, breathing hard and casting a bold look behind herself. Somewhere at the bottom lied the body of the individual who had tracked them, and inadvertently backed them into a corner.
She stood while she still could on shaking legs and stumbled forward, feeling more impenetrable than ever when she clasped her companion’s face in both hands and delivered a messy kiss of gratitude. In the heat of the moment, she lingered, all smiles when pulling away.
“I really owe you now. That was incredible.”

' warm winds come our way lass. been shakin' off this cold fer too long. '
“I feel it already.”
The frosts had begun to thin, but a blanket still crept across the landscape at dawn. She would, eternally, prefer these winters and finicky new seasons over more northern lands, but the heat of the new day thawed a threatening sour mood.
Hen rarely seemed perturbed over small inconveniences. Aloy, however, was still distressed over lost time, forced on by a late season freeze that pressed them into seeking shelter. Though she had likely made the anxiety very present, she worked to skewer it with hope in the new day.
They could already see far more than yesterday; where fog and mist had once blinded them to the diversity of the land.
“I am… really hungry.” So much fuss given over time, and Aloy was rubbing the back of her head. Stress worked an appetite. “If you are too we should take care of that before moving on.”

“Really now?” Aloy quirked a brow, and presented a slight but unassuming smile. It was a struggle to keep her gaze coolly on the other, when the clock was against her for the desired part.
Exhaustion pressed down on her shoulders as she adopted a less rigid posture; the forest air had her on edge, and it was likely that her trail could be followed by undesirables soon enough.
“Well, you’ve seen me. And now I’ll be gone. You wouldn’t mind avoiding mentioning me to anyone, right? I’ll be taking a part for the help.”
Nora Girl;
Aloy had nearly jumped at the voice; the hush of the creaking forest having swallowed her entirely as she inspected the spoils of the hunt. She stood and whirled, a bit too quickly, and with initially distrustful eyes.
As soon as she gave the other a quick scan, her shoulders slackened and she blinked away tiredness. A long hunt, and a longer night had come before it.
“My- Rost, taught me. I didn’t see a skillsman if you’re asking for a reference.”
Down furthest in the valley, the carcass of the Snapmaw still lied, ravaged and lifeless. She cast a look towards it, and scrunched her brow.
“I didn’t expect anyone out this far.”
Distrust surrounded this woman in many layers, and Arwen immediately put up her guard, wiping all admiration from her face. Weariness was also noted, though Arwen would approach with more caution than she had spoken.
Tumblr media
“I need no skillsman, I can handle my OWN.”
Her hunt had been hijacked, but she would gladly surrender the spoils to this young girl, for there were always more machines to destroy, and Snapmaws rarely traveled alone. Though not once was a question asked of her, unusual for two strangers this far south of Meridian, especially when one such stranger wasn’t a Carja.
“And I didn’t expect to see a NORA this far from the Embrace.”

Waves down the redhead from a distance.
Waves back from a distance after squinting. A head of silver against harsh light drowned away details; yet she finds herself smiling at the two swords glinting off of the White Wolf’s back.
She makes short work of the cliff ledge, monkeying down it onto the flatlands and rolling hills, beaming as she jogged over.
“Long time no see.”
