Ok but consider, Galen x MC Our Flag Means Death AU. MC is taken to Altadellys as a Spring princess, but pretty soon she gets fed up with it. So she steals her allowance money to buy a ship and runs away to become a pirate. And Galen is the fearsome pirate legend haunted by the ghosts of their past, who, upon meeting MC, is immediately smitten by her.

I’m very sad that lovestruck’s over now. I can’t bring myself to delete the app yet and I doubt I will any time soon. There are so many stories I wanted to read and so many characters I love. Unfortunately I was unable to record any routes, and I didn’t end up getting all of Amara’s CG’s like I planned to, BUT. I do have all of Lucas and Galen’s CGs, and a good amount of Amara’s that I’m willing to share with anyone who wants them!
I did want to read as many routes as possible, so if anyone has route recordings they’re willing to share, please let me know! I’m open to anything, as I really didn’t get to read many full routes. I’m particularly interested in Reigning Passions, and of course I’d reread Lucas any day. But anything is fine!
I’m very proud to have had Lovestruck and be able to read what I did. Being part of this community has been a treat!

In case you missed it:
Lovestruck released a summary of the routes they were working on. The summary has the plans they had for future seasons and their finale.

EAA FMC: Would you slap your best friend in the face for two million dollars?
Ezra: I would roundhouse kick Lucas in the face for free.

The Lovestruck news is very saddening. There were a lot of routes I wanted to read that I’ll never get to, and characters I won’t get to revisit. I’ll continue with what I’ve been reading and save all the CGs I can(though it’s not many).
In particular, I have nearly all the Galen and Lucas CGs, as well as CGs for Amara’s seasons 1-4 as of now. Hopefully I’ll have all of Amara by the shutdown. If anyone has the 2nd CG for Galen’s season 4, please send it to me!
If there’s ever a mass archive, please let me know. Even if there’s not, I’m more than willing to read any routes at all that anyone archives themselves, though I simply don’t have the money or time to archive anything fully myself.
Its been wonderful being a part of this fandom, however small. I’ll enjoy the rest of my reading.

"Captain Galen. Notorious scoundrel with a heart of gold, if you believe the stories." - Xenia of the Autumn, Xenia's route, season 1 and episode 1

I wrapped up Galen's route today, and I'm still trying to decide what I think of it!
In some ways, its place as part of the Reigning Passions set of stories does it a bit of a disservice, because all the rest of them are set in the world of nobles and court intrigue and land all that, and the pirate story is VASTLY different. Anyone whose exact cup of tea is "lost heir to the throne is found and faces adversity and finds love and gets to the throne and is a benevolent and just ruler" or whatever is not going to be getting their tea from Galen's route. It's a different genre altogether!
And, of course, what other way could Galen's story have gone? You can't take a pirate and pin them down on land. We would have felt robbed if somehow the pirate edition was landlocked and did not involve swashbuckling pirate adventures on the high seas. Can you IMAGINE if like...the writer had decided to head back to land and make the story about Galen becoming admiral of the navy for a typical lost-heir-becomes-queen plot or something. Would not work. Piracy is definitely the way to go.
Plus, getting OUT of the usual setting allowed us to learn a bit more about the larger world and some more background on our mysterious main character, which is always nice! We would love to have some of that background in the other stories, but now we get to start mashing puzzle pieces together ourselves. I wish it had been longer for some more adventures and more lore, but we get what we get, I guess. (But also, at the same time, I wonder how they would have escalated from the Captain Grim stuff for more peril? Would it have been interesting or exhausting? Sometimes escalation for more story is done well by Lovestruck and sometimes it is...not.)
One day after it's been a long long time since I've read any of the Reigning Passions stories, I think I'd like to be in a pirate story mood and turn to Galen's route and see how it feels without the influence of its older siblings hanging around so closely.
I wonder if I would read Lovestruck Does Pirates. Would that just be Gangsters in Love on a boat? Hmm.
