It truly is hard to take most usamerican "leftists" serious. All you want is more from the spoils of imperialism. Your country steals from us, you don't say "We shouldn't steal". You say, "This stolen wealth should be used to improve our lives instead". Expecting us to be thankful because you don't want the stolen wealth used to kill us even more, just keep stealing, in which we'll keep dying, but use them for yourself instead. How thankful are we supposed to be? Is that truly the height of your imagination to improve lives? Maybe it is, because you don't see us as people.

i think a lot of white queer/trans people need to hear that "breaking gender norms" isnt just wearing a dress while masc or dying your hair. its also unlearning the beauty standards that impose ideals of white beauty and attractiveness on non-white folks. yes you have a nose ring but i just heard you tell your black friend with meticulously cared for natural hair "you'd just look so nice with straight hair is all im saying..." why does your blog fetishizing i mean uh. appreciating trans women only feature skinny white women who pass. when societal gender norms are so inextricably tied to whiteness and emulating whiteness it is not enough to simply change your aesthetic. you need to defy the gender norms in your own head too.

that comment about how you should not borrow grief from the future has saved me multiple times from spiraling into an inescapable state of anxiety. like every time i find myself thinking about how something in the future could go wrong i remember that comment and i think to myself: well i never know, it might get better. it might not even happen the way i think it will and if it does happen and it is sad and bad ill be sad about it then, when it happens. and it’s somehow soo freeing

Labor and delivery nurse Hesen Jabr, who is Palestinian American, was being honored by NYU Langone Health for her compassion in caring for mothers who had lost babies when she drew a link between her work and the suffering of mothers in Gaza. “It pains me to see the women from my country going through unimaginable losses themselves during the current genocide in Gaza,” Jabr said, according to a video of the May 7 speech that she posted on social media. “This award is deeply personal to me for those reasons.” Jabr wrote on Instagram that she arrived at work on May 22 for her first shift back after receiving the award when she was summoned to a meeting with the hospital’s president and vice president of nursing “to discuss how I ‘put others at risk’ and ‘ruined the ceremony’ and ‘offended people’ because a small part of my speech was a tribute towards the grieving mothers in my country.” She wrote that after working most of her shift she was “dragged once again to an office” where she was read her termination letter and then escorted out of the building.

As Biden tries to distract the world with yet another “possible ceasefire plan,” this is a reminder that Israel is still full force bombarding Rafah, allowing no aid to enter southern and northern Gaza, and routinely raiding cities in the West Bank. Today a 15 year old Palestinian was shot due to a raid near Jericho, while an Israeli attack in central Gaza killed 7 people—including a woman and her infant. Eastern Rafah is being heavily shelled as we speak. There is only one functioning hospital hospital Rafah, and it’s on the verge of collapse. Hundreds of people die every single day

stop. stop. it is not just the women and children of gaza. it is not just the mothers. it is also the men. the fathers, the uncles, the vendor, the neighbor, the barber. stop dehumanising them. they are also being killed. they are also being bombed. they are also losing loved ones. palestinians are also losing their fathers and brothers. stop it. stop erasing the pain and suffering of palestinian men. they deserve our love, care and voice just as much as the women and children do.
