Look at that bitch eating that fucking sandwich
I have a small circle of friends, most of whom live in the town I moved away from. I needed the change, I was a new mother, wife, and my mother wanted me to move closer to her. So, of course, I left my life and went to be with my family.
Fast forward 20 years, and I'm still best friends with Jefferey. (Not his real name, obviously) and the group that I was close with before. Jeff and I have this mutual friend and I'll call her Kathy.
Kathy had joked on many occasions that we'd have to draw up custody papers when it came time to spend time with Jefferey. If you're like me, you don't want someone spending time with you unless they want to be there, right? So, I brushed off that joke, but here's the kicker. Kathy has always gotta be first to comment on his posts, etc. So much so that It seems like her head is up his ass. It never used to bother me, but now it just seems like she does it to rub it in my face. "See how much closer we are than you!" Now, I know this could be my insecurities talking, but I swear it is getting worse as time goes on. Someone had told me that Kathy was actually upset that Jefferey came down to visit. This is a purely platonic friendship, Jefferey has been married to his partner for a while since civil unions became federally recognized.
Now, it seems like she one-ups me. If I do something for Jefferey, she has to do something bigger and better. I'm on a fixed income so anything I do comes from the heart, not the pocketbook. I just don't know what her deal is. I like over a thousand miles away, she can see him every day, so why does she feel threatened by me? Or am I just being a jerk?
