SBU is...kinda dead.

Hey everyone, Walter Tech Mari here. Or Walter Tech Rissa here. Whatever you guys wanna call me from now on.

I regret to inform everyone that Steam Bot Unity has disbanded. Well, we’ve been disbanded for quite some time but we hadn’t decided whether or not to post about it.

We’ve all packed our bags and left the Walter Mansion, and I don’t know whether or not we’re gonna all come back. Maybe a couple of us might, or maybe you’ll see some new faces around here. Who knows?

If you wanna see more Steam Powered anything, feel free to just simply keep following Steam Powered Giraffe. They were our biggest inspiration to start this odd little troupe, and we thank them.

Thanks again for sticking by us this long, and don’t worry. This isn’t goodbye. It’s simply see you later.

What Happened to SBU?

Hey all, so this year the robots had a bit of a malfunction and weren't able to show up to SPWF this year. Pretty sure it was my fault for trying to install too many new protocols into Duchess and instead causing the circuits in everyone to short out... but can ya blame me?? I wanted her to learn ukulele too. 😓 anyway, sorry about that folks, but they should be up and running soon for next year's SPWF! And who knows? You might see them perform before then 😉

HELLO!

Oof, this blog’s been dead for a while, but it’s WT Mari here! I’m happy to report that I just went over logistics and diagnostics for all the bots and they are ready and raring for this upcoming year’s Steampunk World’s Fair! I’ve even installed some new protocols into Duchess, particularly Protocol M3L0D1C4 ;) It’s gonna be fun! Of course, all the robots will be a little, erm, rusty, but I have absolute faith that this year’s SPWF will be a blast! Hope to see you all there! Best Wishes,

Purpose: Lead singer of Steam Powered Fairytale (amalgam name of Epic Fairytale/Steam Powered Giraffe) and fearless leader of Steam Bot Unity (or so she thinks haaaa XD)

Crush: The Wrench (her partner) Sometimes Rabbit, sometimes The Jon

Created of: Copper, gears and coils, wires all around lol

Notes: Duchess was originally the prototype that was gonna be Rabbit but her idea was scrapped until the bots were all made. She was originally supposed to be part of Steam Powered Giraffe but she was too unstable and almost went to the Becile side, and Peter Walter I had to reset her Blue Matter core. She was shipped to NJ later on to a Cavalcadium associate of Peter Walter's, Walter Peterman (lol) and he was in the process of building his "butler robot" (a.k.a. The Wrench/Jonathan Bycroft) but when he saw how broken-down and unstable she was he programmed Wrench to serve her instead and be her handyman. Ever since then she sings, dances, and acts to her core's content with her friends by her side. She grew to have crushes on Rabbit and The Jon until Crystal Pepsi ran dry and Rabbit couldn't get over Jenny the Toaster. (XD) (Although now Jon is back and the friendship between them re-sparked.) So, Duchess ended up falling in love with Wrench and the two have been inseparable ever since. She often glitches very severely and malfunctions during Honeybee much like Rabbit, only hers nearly damages her core...

Creator: Peterman Enterprises

Purpose: Handyman of the group, and "straight-man" trope character

Crush: The Duchess (his partner)

Age: 127

Created of: titanium-steel alloy, gears and cogs, springs and crosshatching wires

Notes: When Wrench was first being built, originally he was to be made the butler of the Peterman Mansion, with his only other programming being musical ability. When Duchess was shipped to the mansion from San Diego, Peterman reprogrammed Wrench to be her caretaker, not like she didn't already need a babysitter anyway. Whenever she malfunctions or glitches out, he helps to fix her again with his handy tool belt and his massive wrench. As their friendship progressed, even though she annoyed him constantly, he grew fond of the tiny copper bot and the two of them later began a relationship. No one knows how it works but they're happy so it doesn't really matter. Some even say that when Duchess would be threatened or bullied simply for existing because “robots can’t have emotions”, The Wrench would use his 7-foot-tall-exterior to intimidate any bullies. His piercing green eyes can literally stare into the fears and worries of his enemies and anyone who dares try to hurt his precious copper bot. Much like The Spine of SPG, he rarely needs to be upgraded or fixed, as he fixes himself on an almost-daily basis, but when he does glitch out or malfunction, he goes into a mechanically-induced fit of insanity and it activates Protocol N3CR0ST4R and he begins to sing maniacally, acting like the Necronaut from VQ Lore. The only way to shut that down and reboot him is with an EMP blast from Walter Tech Mari (me) and a kiss of static from The Duchess.

Current Purpose: Providing Entertainment while also protecting citizens.

Materials: Titanium Frame work, Aluminum Shell, Purple Matter Timepiece, Brass coils & Gears 

Notes/Bio: S.Y.L. Was built to provide aid to the LGK Industries after numerous attacks from rival companies stealing classified documents. After a few years of protecting the company they upgraded him with more firepower to be contracted for overseas work in militia affairs. On a departure from the Iowa headquarters a CEO of the Company stopped him as he was leaving and told him to run away and bring happiness to the world rather than death. The CEO gave him a New unfinished Aluminum shell so S.Y.L. would not frighten the public and sent the Bot to New Jersey. S.Y.L. now goes about his existence offering aid in anyway and performing. Though it has been noted when an innocent is threatened he goes into a rage and can deal crippling damage to Hostiles.

Notes: Penny took 12 years to build because Ken was busy with his family’s shop, where he could fix just about anything. When Penny isn’t helping with the shop, she is watching over Kens little sister Maria. When Maria was born, Ken wrote a program for Penny so that she could play freely without accidentally hurting Maria. After Penny was built, word got around and Ken’s shop grew to become somewhat popular. People came from all reaches to see Penny. Even Peter Walter III came to meet the Young Bot.
