maxheldersâ:
she is mischief and light in his bed, tanned legs wrapping like a vice around his waist. his shirt comes off swiftly, pants even swifter and she giggles forcing them over again with max on his back. tension tightens for a few moments as she bites down onto her lip slowly undoing the hooks of her bra. âi thought you would be a talker,â a glint sparks in her eye, âbut i like strong and silent max too.â her hips grind down letting him feel the dampness there. their noses press together exchanging breaths and she smiles. âmax-a-million, has anyone ever told you youâre a beautiful boy?â

maxheldersâ:
max falls with vivi into the bed, his lips still chasing hers. heâs smiling, heâs laughing along with her, he feels relieved. he feels at peace. theyâll have to deal with the consequences later. right now, all of max wants all of vivi. and with one hand on her waist and the other still resting on her cheek, he goes for it again. heâs going slowly, his teeth softly pulling on her bottom lip. thereâs a deep longing inside him to finally know how viviâs skin feels against his fingertips, to discover the taste of her lips. and now that itâs finally happening, heâs not about to rush it. after all, theyâve got all the time in the world.
his kiss is rougher than she expected. max has always been soft to the touch in every sense of the word. she nips beyond his mouth towards junction of his neck. itâs clear sheâs easy to rile up as soft petered moans rumble through her. a sense of desperation courses through her and she shirks her clothing with practiced efficiency. she is a vision in lace and freckles kneeling over him. âyou have no idea,â she pants in labored breaths, âhow long iâve wanted this.â she wants to be pliable beneath him or any way heâll have her.

killianthibaultâ:
Maybe he was a bit too strung out and maybe thatâs why he couldnât quite get the key into the front door of the building and maybe, just maybe, he was the absolute worst at remembering numbers (what kind of trait is that for a rentboy anyways?) but the reason as to why wasnât really important as the fact that he was locked out from his apartment building well past midnight. Groaning, killian leaned his forehead against the door for a moment, letting his eyes close for a moment. âNeighbor!â he said as he swept around upon hearing footsteps approaching. âCould you like, âelp me out?â He then asked with his french accent shining through due to how high he was.
vivi turned her head owlishly, sheâd had crazy fans at her door before but this was new for her especially since the only people who knew she was living in holloway were her neighbors. she scrunched her eyebrows together surveying the person laid before her. âif you mean in the biblical sense then youâll at least need to buy me a drink before i do.â she laughed rolling on the balls of her feet. âwhat do you need help with?â

there was no denying that her statement was true and maybe if he wasnât content with the life heâd chosen for himself her comment could have stung. but if there was one thing luciano was, it was proud of what vivi had achieved. heâd never allow such a thing as money or success to get in-between them. âwhich is exactly why you should be paying me or at least providing me with food to cook with. i am just a poor cook attempting to make a life in new york after all.â he made it sound like he was a diner cook and not a junior sous-chef at one of the up and coming restaurants in new york. catching the wet rag reactively, he raised a brow as the hand that held the rag was gestured towards her, a vague threat of it being returned just as quickly. âno one needs the canegalloâs in the same room at once.âÂ
home; the word was somewhat abstract to vivi now. sheâd spent so many years bouncing around countries that she could never pinpoint what home felt like. but watching luciano in his element moving about the kitchen with practiced grace certainly came close to it. she chuckled to herself. âdo you remember when i was sixteen and i came home past curfew with a hickey,â she grinned into her hands, âand papĂ was so mad that he accidentally tossed his phone into the sink and i didnât even get in trouble because we spent so long laughing?â

âcoming from the drama queen.â he quipped, a brow raising in her direction before a silence fell over him. the brow never once falling as she rattled on. she definitley aided in making his retort ring even more true. it wasnât long however before a smile was tugging across his lips once more, âstuck with charming elder brother i could have believed you but loving, doting sister? turned up the notch a little too hard there.â stepping back from the counter he pointed a finger towards her, âi should start charging you for my services soon.â
âgreedy.â she said sticking her tongue out. âwhatever. i could buy your whole life right now.â viviâs success was no secret among their family but her statement was untrue. in his own right luciano had earned his life, she was proud of him, though sheâd never tell him out loud. âdonât you need celebrity endorsement anyways? you, me, mamma, and papĂ ; itâll be like a little reunion.â she tossed a wet rag at him from the sink eyes shining with childish glee.

max feels his heart beating faster and faster with every single one of viviâs movements. thereâs a part of him that just wants to go ahead and taste her lips, heâs craving for it. the tiny tiny part of him that tells him not to seems to be losing power. the only thing heâs sure of now is that he is willing to take the risk. the decision is made when her lips touch the corner of his mouth. ânow,â he whispers against viviâs lips, determined. resting his hand softly on her cheek, heâs holding her in place before finally closing the space between them.Â
kissing max is frighteningly natural. his jaw feels organic under her fingertips, as if he had come from the curves of her palm. she can feel the press of his nose into her cheek and the roll of his hand against her waist. for a second the world seems to be just maxmaxmax. she laughs mirthfully and tumbles downwards into the bed pulling him with her. under her touch he is an ease, a lightness that cascades into the furthest reaches of his bedroom.Â

forwantofwhitâ:
The day hadnât started well. This was typical. Reid had slept through two hours worth of alarms, and now was cripplingly late for a gig. He stumbled into the hall, guitar case slung over his shoulder, and as he searched for his keys, lost his only pick to the hallway carpet. Swearing under his breath, he scanned the ground for it with the flashlight on his phone. As someone appeared, seemingly out of nowhere, he startled. âWhat? Oh yeah, all the time. I live to inconvenience other people, sorry, canât change my nature. But while I got you here, do you, uh, see a guitar pick somewhere on the ground? Little black plastic triangle?â
Nara stiffened, watching the man before her with careful consideration. Something had always irked her about happy-go-lucky guys. Nobody in the world could be that carefree, everyone was hiding something and everyone had a motive. If sheâd learned anything in law school it was that the only thing people liked to do more often than lie to others was lie to themselves. âIf youâre sorry to inconvenience me then why are you asking? Just donât ask me and then you will not inconvenience me and therefore you have no need to be sorry.âÂ

quiet, but love still hears her but itâs better to pretend not to, especially when they are both hangover from yesterdayâs shenanigans. âjust like your soul?â chuckling at her below mediocre âjokeâ, she turns the kettle on, tapping fingers on the cold marble. âdid we have fun? i donât remember .. like, anything.â
thereâs something tense in the air that neither one of them addresses. it walks the line between friendly ribbing and underhanded dealings. vivi groans, sheâs too hungover to think about anything. âi assume so. i just remember they kept buying us drinks and i think there was tequila involved.âÂ

the mood changes so quickly, it almost gives him whiplash. max immediately misses her back in her arms as soon as sheâs moving away. now heâs observing her closely, wide eyed. thereâs an urge in him to pull her back into him, to bring their lips together. âthen you can be whatever the fuck youâd like,â he whispers, sitting up and bringing one of his hands to push a strand of blonde hair behind her ear.
sheâs always been good at this, the push and pull, the game, she thinks bitterly. itâs a virtue of charisma to win her way in anything she desires. she leans into him teetering unsteadily on top of the bed. âcan you trust me?â her head tilts in a way a trained eye can tell is predatory and she smiles placing a hand over his eyes. âsay when.â she presses a feather-light kiss to his ear moving to his cheek, his jaw, and the corner of his mouth.Â

â ah. â the warning tsked only seconds after the utensil was dipped once more into the sauce, a hand coming up to wave away any further attempts at taking another dip. though the slight annoyance that caused his features was wiped clean the moment she spoke, âyou donât have to explain that to me. iâve had a person try to convince me a hot dog from a box on the street was edible.â he was never going to admit he didnât exactly hate it. flicking the stove off and slipping on a lid upon the open pot, his weight shifted as attention turned to her completely. ânot that i dislike having you here, but did you come to simply to swipe some food from me, or are you just missing me?â
âsuch a drama queen.â she said waving her hand dismissively. âhonestly, what kind of world do we live in that a loving, doting sister cannot simply visit her charming elder brother without some sort of inquiry as to her intentions.â she ceased finally with a surreptitious breath. âbut i definitely just came for the food. you can only eat from craft service so long before you start having nightmares about trail mix and black licorice.â

with an earbud hung from one ear as fingers flicked through letters sheâd pulled from the mailbox a few moments ago, she really was in a little world of her own, it wasnât hardly surprising that she didnât notice the figure hovering until words snapped her to attention. letters were pressed to her chest as her free fingers tugged out the single earbud as she twisted instantly around, eyes snapping to focus upon the female. a sheepish smile spreading across her lips as a nervous laugh bubbled up, â jesus, you scared me! ââ sorry, sorry, i wasâin a world of my own. which does tend to happen quite a bit, the blocking pathways though? no. not usually.âÂ
it was a bit hard to be mad at a face that sweet but if anyone could accomplish nara certainly had her foot in the door. sheâs seen the girl often enough to know her name is jess, know she laughs musically, and know she reminds nara far too much of a studio ghibli character to be a real person. nara cleared her throat roughly and stepped back. âright.â she said going stone-faced, âjust donât let it keep happening. thatâs dangerous....â

maxheldersâ:
max purses his lips together and shakes his head. they were star crossed lovers indeed. max knows if it wasnât for viviâs older brother and maxâs best friend being the same person, he would have made his move ages ago. âbut yours is not just any heart,â he mutters, wrapping his arm around viviâs shoulders. âi wouldnât dare breaking it. au contraire, iâd treat is as something precious, delicate, almost holy.â
the shift is almost too subtle to notice. it runs in the fluttering of her eyes and the sinew of her posture. vivi frowns, clearly disapproving of the term. she pushes back from max landing back on her haunches and sheâs no longer a girl, but something feral and untamed. her teeth bite down into her lip as she considers what to say, what path to take. âwhat if i donât want to be delicate?â

Raising an unimpressed brow at his neighbor when she rather harshly pointed out that he was blocking her path, Eli crossed his arms in front of his chest and merely kept standing where he was - he wouldâve moved and apologized had she been friendlier but he wasnât having it - not when heâd barely slept and was already pretty much out of the door again. âWow, are you always this friendly around people you never even said hello to before?â He asked, his tone sarcastic because after all he had better things to do than block peopleâs ways on purpose. He hadnât lived in the complex for long but he was sure heâd seen her around.
she tilted her chin up jaw clenched in burgeoning anger. i hate tall people, nara thought petulantly. sheâd moved to holloway because it was cheap as dirt and it seemed to be relatively calm. but nowadays she felt like she was living inside a reality tv show. âyes,â she deadpanned, âi am always this friendly.â her visage was steely and unreadable. she was the perfect picture of millennial apathy if there ever had been one. âespecially to those who loiter in hallways like sharks who have to keep moving so they donât die.â

charlotte isnât necessary doing it on purpose, but she was looking for an excuse to start a conversation with her exquisite neighbor and perhaps that was the best way her unbalanced mind found. she lets out a delighted sigh when the otherâs voice fills the hallway, a triumphant smile filling her features as turns in to face nara. â i am sorry, i was just distracted. â hopefully charlie would manage to convince the other, she wasnât exactly known for being a great liar. â do you always talk like that to people? iâm surprised, considering your job and everything. â
her expression soured, full lips pinching into tight lines of disapproval. she rolled on the balls of her feet hoping to expel the nervousness from her bones. her job, sheâd been fire for about two months now. âitâs not any of your business.â she said curtly. âdonât inquire into my life for proprietyâs sake, itâs annoying. iâm sure you want to know even less about me than i do you.â

max has actual heart eyes looking at vivi, accompanied by a big easy smile. âoh, really?â he asks, rising his eyebrows. âthe movie star and the rockstar, weâd make quite the tragic power couple, donât you think?â max lets out a laugh and pulls vivi closer so she can rest her head against his chest. âweâd make some good headlines, iâm sure of it. i just donât want your fans to hate me for breaking your heart.â
âit doesnât matter,â she said resting her chin on his chest. she and max had always toed the line between friends and lovers, soft touches and flirtation at parties that was just enough to keep the tabloids interested. but this, she thought, this was love given freely. max was love. âitâs a tragic romance. sfortunati amanti. besides, youâve broken so many hearts already. whatâs one more?â

Sterling took a deep breath, a little shocked by her question. He had never really stopped to think about whether anyone was a good or bad person per-say. People were just people, and often all very complicated. âI think youâre just like most people. You have good and bad moments. Life is messy and complicated and so is everyone Iâve ever met.â His tone was soft and comforting, âDonât dwell on something like that. I mean if youâve hurt people make amends and try and care about others, but also what people think of you is a waste of time to think about.â He gave her a soft smile. âI like you how you are if thatâs of any worth.â
she sat up against the headboard. her dark freckle-specked skin was like the red hot core of the sun burning into the quiet of the night. a breath cleaved from her lungs fighting to expand into her chest. âitâs easy for you,â she said. she carded through sterlingâs dark hair keeping careful watch of his expression. âyou have a big enough heart for the entire world. sometimes i feel like iâm just a little girl.â
