Hades blanched. Achilles actually hadn’t asked him to do anything. For some odd reason, it didn’t settle well with Hades that one of them had been gone for so long without anyone else’ knowledge, so he had taken it upon himself to go look for her to make sure she was okay. That, however, was not particularly his brand, and something he would mostly want to keep to himself. He didn’t need anyone thinking he was going soft. 

He waved his hand flippantly to dismiss the question before looking around. “Mounts shouldn’t play hide and seek.” He muttered. “Cerberus doesn’t play hide and seek.” The mount in question only straightened itself even more to look slightly more imposing. The large wolf truly was an extension of Hades. 

"cerberus, and his owner, are boring,” she said mostly joking, but also speaking with a hint of truth in her voice. it was insane how alike the wolf and the man was, they were both stoic and never seemed to ever relax, or have fun. “you know, you could have a bit of fun, even in our situation,” said eluding to the game. out of the corner of her eye she saw her wolf getting closer to the three of them, “also, you didn’t answer my question hades.”

“ oh i’m well aware, ” nike smirked back, appreciating the comfort that came with myst. somehow in the time that they had known each other, they had become a pair. devious and young and carefree spirits taking on the shitty game together. when she thought about leaving the game, it was leaving sweet times like these with her closest friends that made nike ache to her core. 

“ i mean it totally could be worse. we could be stuck on floor 33 for the rest of existence. or like, in space. ” her face shriveled at the thought, the cold and lonely expanse of stars and nothingness. that would be truly terrifying. at least here, there was a beach.

"don’t worry, you have the same effect my dear nike,” she said as she walked up to the girl and bumped her shoulder against the other girls. nike was myst’s best friend in the game, and to be fair, nike was probably the person who knew her best in the world, beside her brothers.

“i’d hate that, like ireland gets cold, but damn, that’s my hell. i hate being cold, like one time i didn’t leave my flat for a week because it was too cold for me to even think about leaving.”

“When someone’s stupidly hot in this game I guess that’s the normal reaction.” Ace smiled, and blushed at her choice of words on the matter due to it being a little close to reality. “Riding him into battle with the flag of victory, now that’s something. Maybe you’ll see that when we see the final boss.”

her face pulling into a smile at the redness that was taking over the male’s face, before thinking about the image he was describing. “i look forward to it,” she paused and ran her hand through her hair, “i’d love to see you talk titan into that.”

     perseus watched as her eyes darted from his cursor to his uniform, and noted the way her shoulders seemed to loosen. in response, he allowed his own posture to relax, leaning back from his previously slouched position. “ i know exactly what you mean, ” the words came with a laugh, but there was something grim about the fact that the reality he now lived really wasn’t a reality at all. “ ooh, hopefully they send her back with some rolls too. i forgot to have breakfast today. ” he ran a hand through his hair, a sheepish look on his face. “ say, ” he paused, giving her another once-over, eyes narrowing in thought. “ forgive me for being so bold, but have we met before ? you look remarkably familiar, but i can’t seem to place it. ”

she left the subject of their situation alone, not wanting to delve into the turmoil brought into the players’ lives by the game master. instead she decided to focus on his mannerisms instead trying to place where she knew him from. the way he sat, the hand through his hair   was so vaguely familiar, and the fact that he spoke with an irish accent made her think that she might know him, “breakfast is the most important meal of the day   at least that’s what they say,” she spoke with a chuckle. her eyes once again scanning over him to try to place him, “i’m actually glad you said something, because i feel the same,” she paused slightly, “where in ireland are you from?” she asked thinking it would be a good way to figure out where they knew each other from.

“it’s all good.” he smiled at her again as the warrior looked over at his panther who nodded over at myst. “yeah, i assist with the battle fronts but our healers sort of just chat with other healing members and I don’t spend too much time chatting when it’s serious mode defeating the floor boss.” his eyes spotted the wolf mount of myst. “well, looks like your wolf is here, huh.” offering his knuckled to the wolf as an introduction if the wolf wanted to accept his gesture of good will. “do you participate in dungeons at all? i’m always trying to build my friendbase of high levels willing to grind up weapons or armor for the final boss fights.”

her eyes fell to her mount as she listened to the taller man speak about his experiences at the battle front. her hand carded through obsidian’s fur, stopping occasionally to give scratches to her. returning her eyes back to the man. “yes, she is,” she paused watching as obsidian sniffed the man’s hand before nudging him with her muzzle. “and to answer your question, i do and i am always down to help with the occasional dungeon crawl,” a smile pulling up the corners of her mouth

His expression stayed pretty neutral for the time she was talking, at least until Unity was mentioned. The archer’s mouth formed a hard line as his former guild was brought up and he glanced at the other. “I wish they wouldn’t. Unity is dead to me, and I don’t want the dead weight preventing me from getting the fuck out of here.” He glared down at the ground, pulling his half mask over his nose. The last thing he wanted was for the other to see his lip quiver with rage – she might mistake it for him wanting to cry.

she watched him as his face went from relaxed to tense, and knew she’d hit a sore spot. not that she blamed him, her brothers were still no where to be found and for all she knew they were dead. shaking that thought from her head she focused back on him, “i know they are, and i know you’ll get out of here. i have faith that if anyone can do it, it’s you,” she said with a slight chuckle.

“you’ve had a lot put on you. i wish i could have done more.”

At the other’s words, Virus felt some primal form of relief that, while only for a brief moment, made him feel a bit better. He wasn’t certain how the other player found out about what had happened to his family, or why they were even coming to him about it, but, somewhere, deep down, he appreciated it. The archer sat there for a moment, not saying anything. He was lost in the memory of his siblings, lost in the memories that truly made him happy. And, with a sigh, Virus looked up at the other. His normally cold eyes bore some semblance of warmth, though only trace amounts. “Why wish for that? Nothing you could have done.” He shrugged his shoulders. “How did you find out, anyways?”

her eyes rose to look at him, he seemed to be more relaxed that she’d ever seen him. “because you carry the weight of the world on your shoulders, and you don’t need to do that.” a sigh escaped her, “virus, i just wish that you didn’t have to deal with this.” her eyes scanned over him, taking in his appearance, trying to gage his reaction before continuing, “people remember when you were unity; i’m always listening, it’s not hard to put two and two together.” she really only wanted to help him and let him know that he wasn’t alone.

“Kind of hard not to notice them when everybody’s a bit busy drooling over all of them.” Ace was glad that the girl wasn’t out to embarrass him and shared that sentiment. “Great, because I don’t really have a mount of my own unless you count Titan.”

"that’s so accurate, i’ve seen people literally stop walking to look at achilles once, it was so funny,” she said thinking back to the memory. his statement caught her off guard and she felt herself laugh at the notion, “you riding titan, that’d be a site to see.”

Cerberus let out a grunt in reply, never having been all that friendly, but definitely much more tame towards the Catalyst guild members in comparison to everyone else. Hades nodded his head at Myst’s response before looking around for any sign of Obsidian as well. 

“Yes well, it might be easier if two people search for her rather than you just yelling for her on your own. Strangely enough, I feel that does work for you at times.” He commented with a scoff, though lacking the malice he usually injected. 

myst smiled happily at the wolf’s response, before turning back to hades, “it does work, because she’s usually never very far away,” she paused and thought for a bit, “you know, maybe she does it on purpose, like she thinks we’re playing a game of hide-and-seek.” she rambled hopeful that the man would relax more, and the best way she knew to do that was to just continue to talk, “what did achilles want, and why did he send you?” she asked as her eyes fell to the path that lead back to town, thinking that she heard the heavy steps of her wolf.

atlusx‌:

LOCATION : ATLUS WEAPONS & ARMOR | FLOOR : 37

atlus hadn’t actually opened his shop up for the day. instead he spent most of his time working on checking his inventory and stock. along with creating various common, but powerful weapons. some of the weaker ones he allowed himself to practice enchanting on, a skill he hadn’t had much practice in. in fact, today was somewhat of a lazy day for the lancer. he had no armor on, didn’t even have his shield on his back. for atlus it almost felt like a real day, one in which he was not stuck in a life or death hell game. however, he soon remembered where he was when he heard his door open. on guard, he clutched the dagger he had just been attempting to enchant with a flame rune, he called out from the back room, “shop’s closed. who’s there?”

myst was in need of new armor, her’s was beat to shit, which found her at the store today. she she often went cheap with her leathers, but with the amount of times she’d replaced them, she knew she needed to actually go to a smith and purchase some fine leathers or even a set of plate mail. she hadn’t looked very hard, and entered the first place she saw, only to be greeted with a male voice telling her that the shop was closed, “sorry!” she shouted back quickly before continuing, “i can come back later, my needs aren’t dire.”

“This is why you should keep a closer eye on her.” Hades said with a cocked brow, crossing his arms over his chest in a stance very reminiscent of when he’d be scolding his own sister. Cerberus, his own mount, grunted in what could only be interpreted as agreement. The large black wolf, though similar to Obsidian, sat obediently at Hades’ side, eyeing Myst in mild interest. 

“You’ve been gone for a while.” Hades commented flatly. “Achilles made me look for you.” That was a small white lie, for Hades went out on his own accord, but Myst didn’t have to know that. 

myst knew he was scolding her, but she couldn’t bring herself to care about him scolding her, “hello to you hades,” she said tiredly before looking to the wolf, “hi cerberus, how are you?” her voice lifting a bit as she spoke to the wolf, pretty much ignoring the male in favor of his mount.

“have i? i didn’t notice, i went to 49 for a bit and let obsidian lead me wherever she wanted.” her eyes meeting the taller male’s.

“Catalyst has cute boys…Not that I’ve been checking them out or anything like that, just you know strategies to conquer the next floor or whatever.” Ace laughed shakily, embarrassed by his lack of filter. “Yes, I can I’ve got everything I need to make that happen as well. I might be somewhat of an item hoarder. I like stocking up so I can always be of help if needed. Anything else, maybe some chow for your mount?”

a smile crossed her face at the other’s statement, “i mean you’re not wrong, c’mon, have you seen achilles and hades?” she said trying to ease his embarrassment. with a nod she looked to her mount, “she’d love that, so yeah, that would amazing.”
