I think I'm a rare person who likes Astarion, but feels nothing romantic for him. I want to take him out to eat at nice places, I want to comb his hair and tell him news while doing so, I want to indulge him with cool gear and all the tadpoles he can eat, I want to treat him like my son. (Not out loud, I imagine Cazador ruined paternal affection for him.) But I have never wanted to bed with him.

I don't think that's a rare take at all. Sometimes it can seem that way because of what content gets promoted on social media or shown in fan art/fic. But I bet you for every fan that thinks romantic thoughts about him, there's one that just wants to go on adventures with him, free of Cazador's influence. That just shows the strength and relatability of Astarion's character (as well as the others in BG3).
