It is so hard to be a Cassie on the bird app sometimes....

SIDE NOTE: I understand that I set myself up for these type of interactions by being on X at all - but it's really the only app I can find up to the minute TVXQ news so...I keep it.

I posted about how I feel it's cringey and inappropriate to loudly ship YunJae at a 2024 TVXQ concert. To hold a sign proclaiming your belief that YunJae is real in front of Yunho. That I FEEL it is disrespectful of Yunho and the event in which you are at.

I was attacked for this opinion, being told that I was trying to say I knew how Yunho feels and that it's wrong to control someone else's actions.

Yet......that's not what I said nor what i implied.

I have no idea how Yunho feels about YunJae or current YunJae shippers. I have no intention of ever controlling someone's decisions or what they do at a concert.

What I DO THINK...MY OPINION...is that you can love a real-people ship all you want and fangirl about it in fan circles, but it's a little squicky to showcase that in front of those people/celebrities who make up the ship. Mostly because NO ONE knows how the real people involved in the RPS feel about it. Especially when those two people haven't been in contact, and possibly not even friendly, for 15+ years. This is why I feel it's disrespectful to come to a TVXQ concert with a YunJae banner. That's why I said it comes off as cringey to me.

I think this way for any real people ship. Not just TVXQ or kpop based ones.

If you love YunJae and wsnt to flaunt that love to Jae or Yunho, more power to you. I just don't find it appropriate - that's all.

I am very normal about this

I am definitely, slowly but surely, losing my interest in kpop as a genre.

I adored kpop in the 2nd and 3rd gen, as I got into listening to it all the way back in 2000 when I was in middle school. I listened to a massive variety of artists and kept up with the top 100 songs on the charts religiously between 2003-2018....now that's not really happening any longer.

The music being made now mostly just doesn't resonate with me, and I've come to find that all these new groups debuting also don't impress me at all. I do still enjoy a few groups or soloists, but not to the point I would follow them or make an effort to care beyond their title tracks.

For those that know me well, they are aware of my.....distaste for nearly all girl groups and their kind of output. Right now, girl groups are arguably more popular than boy groups. So this alienates me even more from the current trends....but it's not like the boy groups are putting out content that I would even care for for the most part anyways.

Right now, I love TVXQ and that's about it.

Aside from the handful of releases a year from a few other idols that I actually like (shinee, onlyoneof, onewe, the rose, dreamcatcher)....kpop is turning into a pastel wasteland of terrible group names, repeated washed-up concepts, and bland "talent". None of them are special or interesting enough to warrant my attention beyond a cursary glance.

At this point, I am well aware that SM will give TVXQ the bare minimum only when it comes to comebacks and promotion. I also understand that TVXQ are getting older and having hectic schedules is no longer something they can do if they want to maintain their physical and mental health. I know that Changmin has a family now and will need to spend time with them, rightfully so.

Yet, at the same time, I think about how much more SM could be doing with and for TVXQ. Not giving them more activities per se, but better planning the activities provided overall. Better promotion of the chosen activities (seriously, their social media manager needs to be fired, they suck at their job) is also something that needs to be looked at.

I felt their 20th anniversary was promoted alright - but the parts that were lacking were glaringly obvious. Example - their 20&2 tour stage sets, cut scenes, and outfits. I was not impressed with the outfits, they never seemed to mesh well together, seemed ill fitting, and appeared slap dash. Very few costume changes as well too. The stage was BARELY decorated, the back screens were all that were dynamic...stage layout and staging of performers was basic. Cut scenes....there was like...one. Just one....in the Circle tour we had all sorts of cut scenes and innovating staging, beautiful costumes, dynamic lighting. Like when comparing the two tours, Circle obviously had more budget, more creativity, and more care behind it.

I am shouting into the void I know. I just hate seeing TVXQ getting so little with how long and hard they've worked.

Maybe I'm just crazy and negative. 🤷‍♀️

I was specifically referring to Yunho and Changmin being called hags...but the TVXQ fans are also called hags since apparently we need hag equivalency

It's really hysterical how current kpop fans will call TVXQ "too old" and "hags", when there are other groups with members around or at the same age and yet they are not considered old.
