Report: Warriors agree to sign-and-trade deal for D'Angelo Russell
After a star turn with the Brooklyn Nets in his fourth NBA season, D’Angelo Russell will reportedly have a contract to match in one of the most stunning moves of a wild opening day of NBA free agency.
The Warriors have reportedly agreed to a sign-and-trade deal to bring Russell to Golden State on a four-year, $117 million deal, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
Wojnarowski reports that the Warriors are trading forward Andre Iguodala and draft picks to the Memphis Grizzlies in an effort to create salary cap space.
A restricted free agent, Russell became expendable when the Nets reportedly agreed to a deal with Kyrie Irving.
How will Russell fit with Steph, Klay?
How Russell fits with the Warriors long-term is yet to be seen. Golden State already employs two of the best scoring guards in NBA history in Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. Russell’s specialty is scoring.
Thompson will miss a significant portion of next season with the ACL tear he suffered in Game 6 of the NBA Finals, but he is certainly a part of Golden State’s long-term future after reportedly agreeing to a 5-year, $190 million deal.
In the near-term, Russell will provide the ultimate luxury of spelling Thompson while he recovers from his injury.
Golden State has revolutionized how basketball is played once already and appears intent on doing it again in the long run.
D'Angelo Russell is reportedly joining the Golden State Warriors. (Reuters)
More
Russell’s star turn
Russell broke out last season for his first All-Star bid while leading the Nets to their first playoff berth since 2015. After a tumultuous start to his career in Los Angeles, Russell hit his stride just in time to get the big deal.
The Lakers drafted Russell with the No. 2 pick out of Ohio State in 2015 as the presumed point guard of the future. But when he got involved in tabloid drama with a teammate and Lonzo Ball became available in the 2017 draft, his fate in Los Angeles was sealed.
Climb from rough NBA start
Prior to his breakout season, Russell was probably best known for allegedly recording Lakers teammate Nick Young in 2016 as he talked about women who weren’t his then-fiancée Iggy Azalea.
The recording made its way online, and the Lakers were reportedly displeased with Russell, who reportedly became an outcast in the locker room for the alleged breach of trust. Los Angeles eventually traded Russell prior to the 2017 draft that saw them select Ball.
Russell’s big jump
Russell averaged 15.5 points and 5.2 assists in his first season in Brooklyn, similar to the numbers he put up in two seasons with the Lakers. But this past season saw his averages jump to 21.1 points and seven assists to go with 1.2 steals per game while he shot a career-high 36.9 percent from 3-point distance.
Russell, 23, still raises maturity questions. In May, he was cited for marijuana possession after TSA agents at New York’s LaGuardia Airport say they found less than 50 grams hidden in a secret compartment of a fake Arizona Iced Tea can while Russell was going through a security check.
But he’s not gotten into any serious trouble, and his play has certainly earned him the reward of a big contract.

Fugitive Wanted in West LA Sex Assault Might Be in South Carolina
What to Know
Greg Carlson is wanted for an armed sexual assault in 2017 in West Los Angeles
The cross-country search included a high-speed police pursuit in Alabama
Carlson is on the FBI's Top-10 Most Wanted Fugitives list
The FBI has confirmed a sighting of a suspected sexual predator wanted in the armed sexual assault of a woman in her West Los Angeles home.
The cross-country search for Greg Alyn Carlson, 46, appears to be focused on the southeastern United States. The FBI received a confirmed sighting of the suspect -- who was added to the agency's Top-10 Most Wanted Fugitives list -- in the Mount Pleasant area of South Carolina.
Carlson has ties to the area.
He was last seen in a late-model white Hyundai Accent -- the same car he was driving in previous sightings. He likely stole a license plate from another vehicle, investigators said.
The FBI said investigators have not ruled out the possibility that Carlson traveled to other states. He also might have crossed the U.S. border.
Carlson is accused of sexually assaulting a woman, striking her in the head with a gun during a July 13, 2017 burglary in West Los Angeles. He was arrested by Los Angeles police in two months later, but was released on bond.
Carlson then traveled to South Carolina, but likely left the state with a stolen handgun, rental car and large amount of cash, the FBI said. Agents said they're not sure how he obtained so much money, adding that he might have worked as an actor when he lived in Southern California.
In November 2017, he was seen in Hoover, Alabama, where he led police on a high-speed pursuit. Police called off the pursuit due to safety concerns.
Investigators said he traveled to Florida and was seen Nov. 30, 2017 in Daytona Beach.
He has also resided in the Southern California seaside communities of Santa Monica and Redondo Beach.
The 2017 arrest marked the first time he had been arrested for a felony crime. Carlson was previously arrested for a misdemeanor in Beverly Hills.
He might be behind additional sexual assaults, investigators said. A $100,000 reward was issued for information in the case.

Housing and Retail Could Replace Car Wash in Pico-Robertson
A car wash in the Pico-Robertson neighborhood could make way for a mixed-use apartment building, according to an entitlement application submitted yesterday to the City of Los Angeles.
The proposed development, slated for a nearly 26,000-square-foot site at the southwest corner of Pico Boulevard and Beverly Drive, would consist of a five-story building featuring 67 apartments - including seven affordable units - with 16,500 square feet of ground-floor commercial space.
Property records list the owner of the existing car wash and adjacent commercial building as two entities managed by Avy Azeroual.  Azeroual is a partner at Sun Equity Partners, a New York-based real estate investment firm.
The project applicant is listed as Reuben Robin, founder of real estate investment firm Concord Capital Partners.
According to city records, a different developer previously considered redeveloping the car wash site with a hotel.  However, plans were never filed for that project.
Just west of 9500 Pico, Canfield Development is now building a four-story, 25-unit apartment complex at 1400 Reeves Street.
Two blocks west at Rexford Drive, another investor is planning to replace two single-family houses with a 29-unit apartment complex.

Lakers vs. Warriors: 3 Things to Know (1/21/19)
Here is what you need to know before the Lakers’ MLK Day matchup against the Golden State Warriors.
1) Kuz is having himself a run Everybody is waiting to see what’s next from Kyle Kuzma, who scorched his way to back-to-back 32-point games against Oklahoma City and Houston.
The sophomore has been electrifying during this stretch, hitting 59.0 percent of his shots, including a sizzling 52.4 percent from 3-point range (11-of-21).
Kuzma was particularly fiery to start Saturday’s game at the Rockets. He went off for 20 points in just the first quarter, becoming the first Laker to score that many in the opening period since Kobe Bryant eight years ago.
2) Options are thin at the point The Lakers eventually fell to Houston in overtime despite rolling through the first half, leading by as many as 21 points.
But the game shifted once Lonzo Ball — who had 11 assists in 22 minutes — went down with a sprained left ankle. X-rays returned negative for a fracture, yet Ball’s status moving forward is still in question.
The situation is compounded by injuries to fellow point guard Rajon Rondo and offensive focal point LeBron James. Both have been cleared to return to practice, but coach Luke Walton expressed doubt that either would play on Monday.
If none of those options are available for L.A., it will likely lean on Brandon Ingram, who has experience running point when injuries hit. Ingram has averaged 7.3 assists over his last three games, while Lance Stephenson and Svi Mykhailiuk could also get minutes running the show.
The Lakers are also likely to call up two-way PG Alex Caruso, who has averaged 14.1 points and 5.4 assists in the G League this year.
3) The NBA’s most dominant team just got better Apparently four All-Stars weren’t enough for Golden State, which went out and got one more over the season.
One of the league’s most dominant big men, DeMarcus Cousins, is back from an Achilles tear, making the Warriors the first team in 42 years with a lineup comprised completely of All-Stars from the previous season.
And it’s not like they were struggling without Cousins. Golden State has won seven straight games in dominant fashion, averaging 131 points with an 18-point average margin of victory. Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant have both ascended into the top five of the league’s scoring leaderboard.
It will be tough for the Lakers to replicate their Christmas Day blowout of the Warriors. That 21-point victory was led by a huge first half from LeBron, and (once James was injured) a strong second half from Rondo.
Keep an eye on whether they again try to force the ball away from Durant, and if the other Warriors handle business if they do.
Injury Report Lakers: TBD. Warriors: Damian Jones (left pectoral surgery) is out.
Tip-Off: 7:30 p.m. PT TV: TNT Radio: 710 ESPN and 1330 KWKW Unis: Gold Icon Location: STAPLES Center — Los Angeles, California

LeBron Among 10 Finalists for NBA Cares Community Assist Award
Few ever make the type of difference in others’ lives that LeBron James did when he opened the I Promise School in Akron, Ohio, last summer.
The public elementary school was built to lift his hometown’s underprivileged youth, with features such as a 20-1 student-teacher ratio; year-round programming; a 9-to-5 school day; free breakfast, lunch and snack; and four-year scholarships to the University of Akron to all eligible students.
Therefore, it is of little surprise that James was named one of 10 finalists for the 2019 NBA Cares Community Assist Award.
The winner will be announced on June 24 at the 2019 NBA Awards, which will be televised by TNT from Barker Hanger in Santa Monica. Along with the award, the recipient will also receive $25,000 toward the charity of their choice.
The winner will be chosen by fan vote and an NBA executive panel. Fans can vote via Jebbit, and on Twitter by using #NBACommunityAssist and @KingJames in the same tweet. Retweets are also counted, and votes on the first (April 24) and last (May 5) day of voting count twice toward a player’s total.
Along with James, the remaining finalists are Jarrett Allen, Bradley Beal, Mike Conley, Tobias Harris, Damian Lillard, Khris Middleton, Donovan Mitchell, Dwight Powell and Pascal Siakam.

Beyonce buys out Ivy Park clothing line from Philip Green
Robyn Turk
|
Thursday, November 15 2018
Beyonce has bought out Philip Green from her Ivy Park line after allegations of his sexual misconduct. Beyonce had teamed with the billionaire owner of the Arcadia group in 2014 to create her popular athletic streetwear line, which ultimately launched in 2016 via the Arcadia Group’s Topshop.
The ownership of Ivy Park was originally a 50-50 split, however Beyonce’s company Parkwood has now bought Greens 50 percent share for an undisclosed amount. Green’s reputation has spiraled downwards since he was accused of harassment, sexual misconduct and racism last month, however both parties insist that discussion of this deal predate Green’s accusations.
The Ivy Park brand said in a statement: “After discussions of almost a year, Parkwood has acquired 100% of the Ivy Park brand. Topshop/Arcadia will fulfil the existing orders.”

MCM premieres hip hop fashion documentary
Luxury lifestyle and accessories brand, MCM, has premiered its The Remix: Hip Hop x Fashion documentary at the Tribeca Film Festival, which pays homage to the evolution of hip hop and fashion.
The film, created in partnership with Tribeca Studios, traces the origins of “fearless, full-colour hip hop style and explores the women and male allies who have transformed fashion through hip hop” and has been produced and co-directed by Lisa Cortés, the Academy Award–nominated producer of Precious and The Apollo and co-directed by renowned film editor and director Farah X.
The film leads with the journey of fashion architect and new global creative partner at MCM, Misa Hylton, who is recognised as one of the first stylists to meld streetwear with haute couture and delves into Hylton's most recognised fashion looks with her muses including Lil' Kim, Mary J. Blige and Missy Elliott.
In addition, the documentary examines works by legendary streetwear designers highlighting April Walker, along with key voices behind the cultural movement including Mary J. Blige, Yoon Mi-rae, Vogue UK publisher Vanessa Kingori, designer Kerby Jean-Raymond, Dapper Dan, and founder of Highsnobiety, David Fischer, as it looks to examine the global cultural impact influenced by the fashion world with fashion trends and styles from female designers and stylists working behind the scenes.
"MCM is honoured to partner with Tribeca Studios and the talented co-directors of this documentary Lisa Cortés and Farah X,” said Patrick Valeo, MCM president of the Americas in a statement. “We are proud to bring to light this story that has never been told about the incredible women who have had such a significant influence on the cultural landscape.”
Co-directors Lisa Cortés and Farah X, added: "As storytellers, the intersection of Hip Hop and Fashion presents a unique lens to examine the continuously evolving journey of black creativity. For so long, we have culturally ignored what people of colour contribute to the zeitgeist and that has to change. We felt it was important to shine a light on these creators and innovators, especially women, and what they have brought to the fashion world over the years.”

Big ticket item: Campus @ Warner Center hits market for $215M
Lincoln Property Co. and Angelo Gordon are selling the fully-leased office complex

As multifamily developers and commercial firms flock to Warner Center, one joint venture is looking to cash out.
Lincoln Property Company and Angelo Gordon have put their sprawling office campus, dubbed Campus @ Warner Center, on the market for $215 million, The Real Deal confirmed. Real Estate Alert first reported the listing.
The complex, formerly known as LNR Warner Center, is comprised of two six-story office buildings located at 21255 and 21215 Burbank Boulevard. It encompasses 509,000 square feet.
Campus @ Warner Center is nearly fully leased, with the bulk of those leases signed in the last year. Anthem Blue Cross signed a deal to occupy 169,000 square feet at the campus last July, vacating its longtime home at 21555 Oxnard Street. Other tenants include Activision Publishing, WeWork and New York Life.
The joint venture paid $147 million for the campus in 2016, property records show.
As it explores the sale of this property, Lincoln Property is pouring tens of millions into repositioning another one nearby. That 14-story building, recently left vacant by Anthem, is owned by Abraham Lerner. Lerner and Lincoln Property will work on a $50 million renovation on the complex, which has been on the market since October.

The Rookie, Part 2? Not quite for LeBron vs. Spurs
LeBron James is in his 16th season in the NBA. Only six active players have played more games than James, so the Los Angeles Lakers forward is about as far from being a rookie as you can get. Apparently someone forgot to tell the San Antonio Spurs, who mistakenly gave James the "R" designation -- for rookie -- in their press notes for Friday's home game.
Maybe the Spurs were trying to trick James into playing like a rookie, when he averaged a career-low 20.9 points per game and shot a career-worst 41.7 percent from the field. Or maybe the mistake was Spurs coach Gregg Popovich's way of getting reporters to do their research on James.
For the record, the last time James played an NBA game as a rookie was April 14, 2004, when he scored 17 points to help the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the New York Knicks. James faced the Spurs twice during his 2003-04 rookie season, including a 32-point, 11-rebound performance in a win over Popovich's squad in February of that season. He also was named Rookie of the Year -- though the year was 2004, not 2018.

The West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has presented its members with the slate of candidates for the election to its board of directors.
Members are asked to select from among the 16 candidates to fill six open seats.
“This is by far the most extensive slate of candidates we have had in the 18 years I have been involved with this organization,” said Chamber CEO Genevieve Morrill. “And the candidates represent a broad range of business types and industry categories including some of our new cannabis members.”
Candidates and their businesses are:

Colby/Peoples –Sherri Franklin/Urban Design Center, LA Cannabis
“The impressive breadth and depth of this candidate field is particularly exciting as it suggests that the people are recognizing the work of the Chamber, our role in the community and the value of the benefits we provide,” said Keith Kaplan, chair of the Chamber board. “Clearly people want to be a part of our organization and want to participate in our future.”
Members of the West Hollywood Chamber will be voting online via Election Runner, a platform governed by strict rules and guidelines that is monitored and managed entirely by Election Runner staff. Election results are hidden from Chamber administration until the election has ended. Results will be revealed to the public in early December. In addition to the six nominated board members the WHCC bylaws call for the chair to appoint four additional board members for open seats in 2019.

Amazon passes up LA for second headquarters
The attempts of Los Angeles elected officials and business leaders to lure Amazon to the city have fallen short.
On Tuesday, the tech giant confirmed reports that it would divide up its planned second headquarters between New York City and Crystal City, Virginia. That means that Los Angeles won't get the 50,000 jobs and billions of dollars of investment the company has promised to bring to the location of its new headquarters.
On the flip side, the city won't be on the hook for the rich subsidies the winning cities will be handing over to the company in coming decades.
When Amazon launched a high-profile search for a second base of operations last year, hundreds of cities submitted bids to woo the company, which now operates out of a massive Seattle campus with more than 8 million square feet of working space.
In January, Amazon narrowed those candidates down to a list of 20 finalist cities, including LA.
In a statement, Bill Allen, CEO of the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation, which submitted LA's bid, says that in spite of the company's headquarters decision, Amazon's presence will be felt in the region.
“While Amazon has chosen to build its HQ2 elsewhere,” Allen says, “the company is already a huge and very fast growing employer in the LA region and we expect to see that growth continue.”
In 2017, the company announced plans to lease Culver City’s historic Culver Studios campus, where Gone with the Wind and the original King Kong were filmed. Amazon doubled down in March, agreeing to lease much of the Culver Steps development now under construction across the street.
The company also operates multiple distribution centers in the area and paid $1 billion for Santa Monica-based startup Ring earlier this year.
Since Amazon won’t be constructing a massive office complex in Los Angeles, sites proposed for the second headquarters will be available for other projects. The full details of LA’s bid haven’t been revealed to the public, but sites pitched to Amazon include the Pomona Fairplex and the former Rocketdyne plant in Warner Center.
Mall of America owner Triple Five Group is reportedly interested in purchasing and redeveloping the Rocketdyne property. New development is also planned around the county’s fairgrounds.
Fairplex president Miguel Santana tells Curbed that coming up with a plan for Amazon offices at the massive 487-acre site “gave us an opportunity to evaluate our assets.”
Santana says the campus will continue to be used for the fair and other events, but that it’s possible some parts of the site, including surface parking areas, could see new development in coming years.
That includes a mixed use project around a future Gold Line station that the Fairplex organization is recruiting developers to construct. Details of the project have yet to be fleshed out, but it could include retail businesses, housing, and a hotel.
“Amazon created this opportunity for us to think about our community,” says Santana. He says the organization is now committed to building a “campus of the future.”

Fashion in the news: most interesting fashion reads in March 2019
Every month, FashionUnited selects the most interesting reads about the fashion industry published across American and British news outlets. Here’s what you may have missed this month:
“Will success spoil Diet Prada?”, The New York Times
Run by Tony Liu and Lindsey Schuyler, Instagram account Diet Prada is quickly establishing itself as the unofficial watchdog of the fashion industry, constantly calling fashion companies out for plagiarism, racism and sexism.
Diet Prada played a pivotal role in Dolce & Gabbana’s recent image crisis regarding an advertising campaign depicting a Chinese woman trying to eat Italian food with chopsticks. Not only was the Instagram account one of the first ‘news outlets’ to criticize the label for the “problematic” campaign, it also added fuel to the fire by sharing alleged screenshots of co-founder Stefano Gabbana going on a rant about China and the Chinese, causing the label’s upcoming fashion show in Shanghai to be cancelled and several Chinese celebrities to boycott the brand.
It was also Diet Prada who suggested Kim Kardashian (or someone in her team) may be leaking her outfits to fast fashion brand Fashion Nova; it was they who pointed out the striking resemblance between Moschino’s Spring/Summer 2019 catwalk show and Edda Gimmes Spring/Summer 2017 collection; it was they who helped to spread allegations of Gosha Rubchinskiy’s inappropriate behavior with minors like wildfire on the Internet. In all these instances (and many more), Diet Prada’s followers are quick to bombard brands’ social media profiles with criticism and boycott threats -- and they are often not happy with just an apology. That explains why labels recently accused of referencing blackface in their collections, such as Versace and Gucci, were more than quick to adopt policies to increase diversity within their organizations. Diet Prada’s followers don’t expect any less.
Considering this Instagram account’s increasing power, The New York Times couldn’t help but ask: will success spoil it? How do Liu and Schuyler make money? Who’s watching the watchdog? Some followers are already complaining that some of Diet Prada’s recent copycat accusations are a bit of a stretch -- after all, they need to keep posting content on a regular basis to please Instagram’s algorithm and remain in the spotlight. Read the article in full here.
“Why Germany’s fashion market is so hard to crack”, Vogue Business
With 83 million inhabitants, a healthy GDP and Europe’s second-lowest unemployment rate, Germany is a promising market for fashion brands looking to expand internationally. Yet, many companies struggle or fail to secure a strong position in the country. Why does that happen? Vogue Business has delved into this issue in an enthralling article published this month. Spoiler: Germans are thrifty, practical and like their clothes sporty. Read the article in full here.
“What Tom Ford’s CFDA post means for American fashion”, Business of Fashion
Tom Ford has been officially named the Chairman of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), succeeding Diane von Furstenberg after a 13-year tenure. With extensive experience working for large luxury brands in Europe (the designer served as the Creative Director of Gucci Group, working for both Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent), Ford is expected to help American fashion become more relevant in the rest of the world. Business of Fashion laid out all the challenges and expectations Tom Ford will face in his new role. Read it here.
“Virgil Abloh, menswear’s biggest star”, The New Yorker
Could 2018 have been any better for Virgil Abloh? His label, Off-White, was one of the most sought-after brands of the year, which led him to collaborate with a number of high-profile companies, fashion related or not. He’s teamed up with Rimowa, Ssense, Nike, TheDoubleF, Ikea, Moët & Chandon and Evian, to name but a few. Not to mention, of course, his appointment to the role of Menswear Creative Director at Louis Vuitton. Doreen St. Félix, writing for The New Yorker, followed the architect turned fashion designer while he was preparing his Michael Jackson-inspired fashion show for the latest menswear Paris Fashion Week. Through candid interviews, she dissects how Abloh brought something new to high fashion. Read it in full here.
“The global zipper war is heating up”, Fast Company
Take a look at the tabs on the zippers of your clothes. Chances are most of them are marked with the letters YKK. That’s the Japanese company which holds the title of world’s largest zipper manufacturer. A comprehensive article published by Fast Company this month reveals how they managed to achieve this position and how it may be beaten by Chinese businesses in the future. Read it here.

Review: Experience Gear camping and backpacking kit rentals
All photos by the author. Not included in the Experience Gear light backpacking kit: crampons; mattress pad in yellow sack and gloves
I am a day hiker. When I backpack, it is not something on which I tend to geek out but rather a means to an end, the most recent end being not having to climb Mt. Whitney in one day. My friends’ invitation to go on their 3-day trip to Whitney coincided with my being contacted by Santa Barbara, CA-based ExperienceGear, a company that rents and delivers outdoor equipment including packages for camping, backpacking and festivals, as well as individual items that can be ordered “a la carte.” I was invited to try their light backpacking kit and write about the process for this site. The current (November 2018) rental charge for the 1-person light backpacking kit is $55 per night. The site claims that the manufacturer’s suggested retail price of all of the items in the package is over $1,000. I did some research and can corroborate that figure (the tent and backpack alone retail for over $200 each; the poles for $80).
The gear in its UPS packaging as I received it
As someone who usually prepares poorly for backpacking trips, having the gear selected and delivered was a strong selling point. The package arrived via UPS in a plastic crate, including labels for return shipment. The items included a backpack from Deuter, a sleeping bag, camping pad, a Big Agnes tent, a small isobutane stove, Black Diamond hiking poles, a Sawyer water filter attachable to a 16-ounce bladder, a camp chair, a pillow, a Black Diamond headlamp and a complimentary health/hygiene/safety accessory kit with an emergency whistle, band-aids, a gauze pad, Advil, antibiotic ointment, various sanitary wipes, a few feet of duct tape, tinder, suntan lotion, a multi-toll eating utensil – a “spork” with a serrated edge for cutting, make it more of a “sporkinfe” – and more (my wife, a registered nurse, was impressed by the inclusion of these items and wanted to make sure I commended Experience Gear for including them). As it turned out I didn’t end up using any of the items, other than the sporknife, but it was good to know they were there, adding less than a pound of weight. I also elected not to bring the sleeping pad, using my own ALPS inflatable pad instead and didn’t bring the pillow to save weight, instead stuffing clothes into the pad’s carrying sack.

The gear all worked well – the water filter was the MVP – with one exception: one of the aluminum poles snapped when I came down hard on it after slipping on an icy section of the switchbacks (no injuries fortunately, other than ego). I emailed the company about this. Owner Jamie Nichols said that ExperienceGear tends to experiment with different brands and models and, as this was the second issue reported with Black Diamond trekking poles, the company was likely going to stop including that model in the packages. Jamie generously waived any replacement charges.
Backpacking is a compromise between weight reduction and comfort. I missed my 2-man Camp Valley tent but the Big Agnes, while feeling cramped at times, was lighter and easy to set up. It would have been nice to be able to filter more than 16 ounces of water at a time, but the filter’s minimal weight was an asset. Overall, the items selected for the kit were good choices for a casual backpacker. Experience Gear’s rental model also provides veteran backpackers a chance to “test drive” different gear without a commitment to buying.
The camp stove in action
Two suggestions that I made were that the company include packages of MREs and other shelf-stable food items to make ExperienceGear a true one-stop shop for campers and backpackers and that they more prominently feature bear canisters on their website – perhaps including them as an add-on option for the kits. When I first checked out the site, I didn’t know that they offered bear canisters and ended up renting one in Lone Pine. Jamie was receptive to these suggestions and said that one of the future goals of the business is to become certified to keep and distribute shelf-stable foods.

I would like to thank ExperienceGear for reaching out to me and providing me with high quality items and good customer service. I am looking forward to seeing them become a strong presence in the outdoor recreational community.

7-hour, 20-minute World Series game at Dodger Stadium was the longest ever
Did you see all of it? After more than 7 hours and 18 innings of play, the Dodgers defeated the Red Sox  3-2 during Game 3 of the World Series at Dodger Stadium last night. It was the longest World Series game in history, reports S.I.
The marathon game, which ended early this morning, was significantly longer than the previous record-holder: a 5-hour, 41-minute match during the 2005 World Series, S.I. said.
The two teams return to Dodger Stadium tonight and Sunday for games that start shortly after 5 pm. Boston still leads the series with two wins.
It was also a marathon day for the LAPD, which said it took four shifts of officer to provide security around the stadium.
Police once again warned fans driving to the game to be aware of No Parking restrictions on many of the streets surrounding the stadium.
The department also advised motorists that a large area  surrounding the ballpark — from Glendale Boulevard on the west, Riverside Drive on the north, Broadway on the east and Temple Street on the south — “should be avoided whenever possible” between 2 pm and 11 pm.
Officials recommended that if possible fans take the Dodger Stadium Express from Union Station — the ride is free for those with game tickets — or bike or walk to the ballpark.
