Ogino Yuka’s 2017 Sousenkyo Speech (5th place):

To everyone who voted for me, thank you so, so, so, much. I’m NGT48 Team N III’s “Ogiyuka" or Ogino Yuka. From 6th grade in elementary school, I’ve always admired AKB48. For 4 years, I took auditions. I kept failing every one, and wondered if I should just give up and continue admiring AKB from afar. At that time, I participated in the Draft Kaigi. Kitaraha Rie-san, Kashiwagi Yuki-san, and the executive Imamura-san selected me to be in NGT48. Although I felt insecure and would live by myself, I moved to Niigata. I believe my family was really worried. But now I definitely think, “I’m so glad I came to Niigata.” I was the last pickings, the leftovers. Dreams definitely don’t come true, and something like “hard work will definitely be rewarded” was obviously a lie! I thought that for forever! But for those 4 years, no matter what I wanted to be in the AKB48G, so I kept taking auditions with all my might. Then, when I got 1st place in the preliminaries, I was really surprised, and I know everyone was thinking, “who’s Ogino Yuka?” “why is it this person?” I myself was also very surprised. “I wonder if I broke the AKB48 sousenkyo.” There were times I thought so. Even so, I’ll take the love I’ve received from everyone and accept it with all my heart. Now, in the sousenkyo of the AKB48G I’ve always admired, receiving such a wonderful ranking is like a dream. I’m really glad that I kept taking AKB auditions until now without giving up, and it makes me really happy to have fans who are there to cheer me on. I asked Takahashi Minami-san, “will hard work definitely be rewarded?” She said, “I don’t know if hard work will definitely be rewarded, but in working hard, there is nothing that has no meaning.” Then she said, “next time, show me that hard work will definitely be rewarded, ok?” Am I showing you that hard work will definitely be rewarded right now? Surely, in this situation, I believe there are many people who were unable to reach their goal and are experiencing frustration. For those people, I hope they will listen to my catchphrase, “no matter what happens, I won’t get discouraged!” It’s really, really all thanks to everyone who supported me! For carrying someone like me all the way here, thank you so, so much, and also, thank you very much for making me into an idol! I definitely want to connect this result to NGT’s debut two years ago, and I want to work hard for AKBG’s sake too. Please let me do my best! I think it’s still far away for me to become an existence that you’ll entrust AKB to, but I’ll work hard with all my might from now on, so please cheer me on.

Starting with another round of compliments, but not only for her, but for the whole group. Fans were saying that everyone in STU48 is cute, to which Chiho agrees to. Later they went into saying that everyone from Hiroshima is cute www

She also got compliments for her blouse, getting told that red suits her. She was quite excited about the compliments and proudly showed us how cute the blouse actually is wwww

She talked a bit about the lessons she’s receiving, telling everyone that she haves fun, and then got a lot of asks about other members, and the double Ishida’s (Ishida Minami), and that the fans would like to see them collaborate WIshida - to which she replied that she would like this too wwww

Later she was asked who’s her current 48G favorite is, but she couldn’t answer the question because she likes too many members (her kamioshi is Oshima Yuko after all). After a while she mentioned that she quite likes Hinatan (Homma Hinata) and Noepii (Yamada Noe), to which the Fans replied that she’s a bit like Hinatan; cute, princess like, and calm/healing aura.

She seemed as if she likes NGT. The two members she mentioned are from the group, and she later started singing Seishun Dokei. Only a little bit from the chorus though. But she started humming the song over and over again throughout the later half of the stream.

春。 Spring.

さくらも満開、 すっかり春らしくなってまいりましたね。 (朝晩はまだまだ冷えますが) The sakura are in full bloom, it really feels like spring has come again (although mornings and evenings are still cold)

いろんなことがあった最近、 春らしく、 別れもありました。 A lot of things have happened recently; springtime has come and someone’s left us.

ブログ書かなきゃ書かなきゃって 思ってたんですが 遅くなってしまいすみません。 I kept thinking “I have to write my blog, I have to write my blog”, sorry I’m late…

すこし前のことになってしまいますが 綴らせてください 😁🌷 It was a while ago now, but please bear with me 😁🌷

まず、NGT48にとっての 大きな出来事。 Firstly, something very important happened in NGT48′s world.

春は別れの季節だということを 久しぶりに実感した出来事。 It’s been a while since I thought this, but it reminded me that spring is a season of separations.

NGT48にとって初めての出来事。 It was NGT48′s first real setback.

メンバーのみーずんこと水澤彩佳ちゃんの卒業。 みーずんは本当にみーずん先生になります 🏫 One of our members, Mizusawa Ayaka-chan, Miizun, graduated. Miizun is really going to be Miizun-sensei now 🏫

NGT48、ここまでずっと 26人で歩いてきました。 Until now, all 26 members of NGT48 were walking together.

メジャーデビューまであとちょっと、 みんなでデビューしたかった気持ちはあるけれど、 It’s only a short while until our major debut, and we all wanted to debut together…

すごく前向きな卒業 🌸 But it’s a really positive graduation 🌸

そして、 サプライズでお手紙書かせていただきました 💌 Also, I was the one given the chance to write her farewell letter 💌

書きたいことが溢れてて 結構長くなっちゃった 😓 There were so many things I wanted to tell her that it ended up being rather long 😓

でもみーずんへの想いは全部ここに詰まってる。 But I managed to pack in everything I wanted to say to Miizun.

わたしは今までも何回か手紙を書かせてもらっているけど、 自分の手紙を公開するなんて恥ずかしいし なんだかおこがましいことは今までしてこなかったけど この手紙だけは公開させてほしい。 I’ve written a few of these letters before, but I was too embarrassed to show them in public before. This time though, while this may be a bit-self-absorbed, I want everyone to see this it.

なぜなら、この手紙の中には みーずんだけではなく NGTのみんなへのメッセージも詰まってる。 I think that’s because the message in this letter isn’t just for Miizun, it’s partly for all of NGT.

もっと言ったら AKB48グループのメンバーみんなに向けて言いたいことが書いてあるかも。笑 Actually, it says things I’d like to say to all of the 48 Group. Lol

あともーっと言ったら 女の子に向けて言いたいことかもっ 😉✋ Or maybe even things I’d like to say to all girls 😉✋

だから今回だけは載せます、 字があまり綺麗ではないので恥ずかしいですが。。。 So this time I’ve posted it here, although I’m a bit embarrassed that my handwriting isn’t neat…

そして！ ALSO! もうひとつ大事なことが。 Another important thing happened.

今年の選抜総選挙、 沖縄開催の総選挙2017、 立候補させていただきました。 I announced my candidacy for the Senbatsu Sousenkyo, this year it’s going to be held in Okinawa.

うん。 Yeah…

たくさんの葛藤がありました。 いろんな気持ちがあって、 それをうまく言葉にできるかはわからないけれど、 文章にさせてください。 I was quite conflicted. I had lots of different feelings about the idea, and I’m not sure if I can express them well in words, but please read what I’ve written.

わたしは、個人的に 総選挙は出ることが当たり前だと思っていました。 毎年、出ないという選択肢を考えたことがなかったんです、わたし。 Personally, I felt it was only natural I’d take part. Every year, I’ve never had a single thought about not applying.

立候補制になってからも、 総選挙には出るべきだと思っていて。 (あくまで個人意見です) Even though they changed the system so you can sit it out, I feel like I need to take part. (I’ll always think that)

ですが今年、初めて迷いました。 But this year, for the first time, I was in two minds.

…というか、本当に辞退するつもりでした。 Or rather, I really intended to sit it out.

去年の総選挙のときから、 来年は辞退しようと思っていました。 I’d thought since last year’s Sousenkyo that I’d sit it out this year.

でも、わたしにとっていま1番大切なNGT48が、 いよいよメジャーデビュー！という時期、 But NGT48 are finally about to have their major debut, and they’re the most important thing to me right now…

メンバーの士気も上がっている、グループの士気も上がっているいま、 Right now the morale of both the members and group is high…

キャプテンとしてわたしが辞退するというのはどうなのだろうか？ と考え直しました。 And I though to myself, “If I sit it out, as the captain, what effect will that have on them?”

わたしがグループの勢いを止めるわけにはいかない、 もちろんわたしが辞退しただけで勢いが止まるグループではないと思っています、 だけど先輩として、後輩に辞退する背中を見せるのはどうなんだろう？って思いました。 I don’t want to impede the vigour of the group. Of course, I don’t think that I could impede it just by sitting out the Sousenkyo, but I thought to myself “As their senior, how will the juniors feel if they see me not taking part?”

今年は去年よりもたくさんのメンバーがランクインするかもしれない、(というか、してほしい) そんなとき、メンバーの近くで見守って、一緒に喜んで、抱きしめたいと思ったんです。 I think that this year more members are going to rank in (or I want them to anyway) And when that happens I want to be right there, watching over them, sharing their happiness, hugging them closely.

だから、わたしは今年の総選挙、 しっかり先輩として、キャプテンとして、 もちろん北原里英として ✋!  So this year I’m want to take part in the Sousenkyo; as a senior, as a captain, and of course, as Kitahara Rie ✋!

立候補させていただきました。 That’s why I applied as a candidate.

もちろん、立候補したからには しっかり先輩として、キャプテンとして 結果が残せるように、 頑張ります！！ And also, because I applied, I want to get the best result I can and set a good example as senior and captain, so I’ll give it my all!!
